Those fast sections after the acoustic riffs are probably my favorite growling performances from Miakel. So guttural and enunciated with brutal lyrics.

Master's Apprentices is pretty heavy and that's in E standard. Pretty sure the whole of Deliverance (the album) is in E standard too.

Please check out Wreath. It's probably too underrated to be voted on, but I promise you will be blown away. It's so powerful. The cymbal work alone is worth it the listen.

The original press of the vinyl sounds unreal. I had the cops called on me because of this song. They were opeth fans when they left a beer deep. The talent is undeniably beautiful and it doesn't come around that often

Opeth have the super rare quality of having a catalogue of music which rarely gets boring....I can't even bring myself to listen to bands I absolutely loved such as Metallica, slayer, etc...

I bought this CD in 2008 I believe, based solely on the look of the cover. I put the CD on in my ex's car and we marvelled at the beauty of the opening track, Coil. Then track 2 came on and terrified her 😂. I'd never heard anything like it at the time though, to go from a gentle sound to a demonic one, with flutes added throughout. It was a life changing, chance experience.
That's awesome! The main thing I love about reaction videos to Opeth is when it's a completely new kind of eye opening experience for the listener. It's like watching someone find new appreciation for life.
Opeth is brilliant. They have taken over a lot of other good band to become one of my lost listened to artists. They have so much diversity in soundscapes and composition. Replay value is high for this band. If you likes the first listen, it should get better on return. Nice reaction.

I have mentioned Funeral Portrait, but then I've been shouted down by people saying it's the weakest song on the album or whatever. Like it's not still a really good song with major hooks and arguably the best solo on the album.

I've always felt like heir apparent was a joke because Coil started so smooth and then bam! but now that it's all behind us can we please make them react to hessian peel which is such a solid song and heir apparent doesn't even touch hessian's greatness

I think my favorite thing is how absolutely baffled you are throughout this and all their songs at what they're able to come up with, cause it's exactly how we all felt at one point.

Great reaction! Been an Opeth fan since the 90's and they remind me of the song FRANKENSTEIN by Edgar Winter because that song was comprised of different pieces of cutting room floor music that didn't go together but they made it work. BRILLIANT
