These reactions give me life, y'all. I only discovered Opeth myself about 7, maybe 8 years ago when I heard Blackwater Park, and that shit STOMPS. Anything off that you haven't heard would be great. But also I love their newest stuff, the mix of progressive metal and progressive rock they're into now. I know a lot of their old school fans never really forgave them for going away from the black metal sound and only listen to the early releases but that direction is THERE in most of their early stuff. It's obvious that's where Mikael's heart lies and his muse needed to go. Something like the title track from Sorceress is a badass example of that, or literally anything from Pale Communion. Their latest. In Cauda Venenum. is amazing too. What I'm saying is: I honestly don't think you can go wrong with Opeth. I know there's people who agree with me that love all types of music like you two do. Enjoy your journey, and know that this dude is gonna be right here to follow along with you.

I was waiting for that outro to come and your reaction. This is probably my favourite song from them and I agree, it´s a piece of art.

Your reaction is as epic as the song itself. Opeth are absolutely an amazing band. They make 10 minutes songs and you don't want them to end.

This album transformed my life in 2004. I spent every moment listening my Deliverence CD when I walked to school and when I walked from school. Weeks spent listening to the same album. It changed me; not only as a music listener, but also as a person. Opeth's Deliverence will always be a part of me.

When you consider that that outro alone is a) instrumental and b) longer than a radio-friendly song would normally be you already know there is something special going on.

    Heavy:
    Drapery falls
    Bleak
    When
    Porcelain heart
    Mellow:
    Damnation (The whole album)
Ps: This is my Opeth playlist

    Opeth - Heir Apparent.
    One of their heaviest.

  • @darkphoenix2

I cracked up when the camera fell. Good thing it was at the end of the song.
I think Bleak, Serenity Painted Death, or The Drapery Falls is the next best choice. I know I just gave you three choices, but it's hard.

I'm so glad you're discovering Opeth. Their newer albums have clean vocals and push their musical boundaries to places you have to hear to believe. Try "Eternal Rains Will Fall" or "The Devil's Orchard," "River," "Sorceress," "Dignity," "Heart in Hand," etc. Thanks!

This is my favourite channel for opeth reactions by farrrrrr!! You guys really enjoy what they bring to the table!
Songs I would recommend are: Moonlapse Vertigo, demon of the fall or Serenity painted death

    • @bernhardkrickl3567

Yeah, I love Moonlapse Vertigo. To me, it's the "Drapery Falls" of the Still Life album.

was waiting for this. awesome as always. I'd say burden next as a lot of people are already suggesting for a slower song, to know the spectrum. maybe windowpane after? then we see where we go next 😎
