This game was one of the earliest cases of the infamous Ubisoft practice where the game looked better in previews as well, as the screenshots shown off in an issue from Game Informer looked closer to an early life Xbox 360 game. Apparently this is because Ubisoft didn't know the specs of the Wii early on but assumed it'd be more powerful than it was, so the early screens were from the game running on dev PCs.

I used to play this game a lot in my early teenage years.
Thing is... I do not remember anything about it.
I remember seeing Screenshots of this in a magazine back in 2006 and thinking to myself "wow, the Wii has good graphics", lol. They sure tried making these launch games look next gen.
4:09-4:22 Hey, if a policeman can basically pummel, shoot or even suffocate a person to death, and almost never be held accountable by their superiors (like some cases), I can believe that there are members of the Yakuza that mean well.
I mean, history has told us that working in or outside of the law doesn't determine if someone's a good person, or not.
7:45 scalie on scalie violence... smh
The problem of this game is that wants to be the definitive launch title, but by being Ubisoft is a lazy, sloppy, meh Gameloft esque title
Same with ZombiU
Ubisoft always helped Nintendo at a new system launch, but they need a little more effort
So did you will continue to play Red Steel 2 ?
This is amazing. My whole 20s were spent with Wii. Lovely to revisit these games.
I'm so glad that the motion controls fad has (mostly) passed.
No control scheme will ever be as accurate or comfortable to use as a controller or mouse and keyboard no matter how much companies try to convince us that motion controls are the future.
The motion control fad didn't pass, it just turned into VR which is a much better use for it.
@@Jarekthegamingdragon Also, Red Steel 2 may just have some of the best motion controls in any game.
Man, Red Steel 2 is such a big jump from Red Steel 1 in gameplay...
I remember I played through the single player with my friend (like switching who would play the game), but the controls felt so weird and we realized that he could fight a bunch of enemies but was terrible against the bosses. On the other hand, I couldn't even kill the regular enemies but the bosses felt super easy. I appreciated what the developers were trying to do but the core gameplay was just a lil too wonky
Red Steel 2 is masterpiece on the wii. Was my favorite from all Wii games i owned no joke
