Jimmy Webb once said something like "the voice is an instrument and Glen Campbell plays it the best"... I could not agree more...his voice is magic...powerful yet gentle...as smooth as silk...and what an incredible guitarist...God bless you Glen!!!
I love his rendition of "Ain't No Sunshine"! His instrumental solos are every bit as beautiful as his singing... God surely gave Glen a gift which he has shared with the world, God bless you, Glen and may you feel the love your fans have for you..
There are so many things to say about this unreal medley performance, but let me first of all say that the unusual mixture of songs (and their genres) is really what sets it apart from others of its kind -- a little pop country, 60's folk, 70's r&b, broadway-esque ballad, and classic rock -- all combined with rarefied singing of stellar range and tone.....and of course, the virtuoso guitar playing was like no one of his generation or others that have since followed. Glen was one for the ages, and this early 70's performance, which was clearly at the peak of his popularity and musicality, demonstrate how great his talent really was! CET
I first knew of this man when I was a child in the late 1970s i grew up listening and loving his music. in my teens I bought my first guitar...became a professional musician i married we have a family 3 daughters and our son I named my son Glen god bless you Glen Campbell thank for sharing your amazing gift and being a part of my life through your music.
FRIEND, I HEAR YOU!! BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, ME TOO AM A PROFESSIOALMUSICIAN, WATCHING GLEN HERE LIKE THIS, DAMN, SO THE BEST!! LIVE YOUR PASSION!!!
This rendition of Wichita Lineman must be around the time when he recorded. Most underrated voice guitarist ever. He was best. Glen Travis Campbell is American Treasure !!
boy, he's been on my mind today. I remember glen said he cried when he heard elvis was dead. I feel a little like it. as a great a singer as glen was you may have to play a little guitar to know how great he really was. the true king of country boy guitar players. all I can say is I was always a fan.
Glen was one of those rare guys who could combine speed and touch in his playing. A lot of guys can do one or the other but not many can do both, at the same time.
I'll always remember Glen Campbell best for his Texas Ranger performance in my favorite movie of all time True Grit (1969). He may forget who he is, but we won't.
Growing up in Arkansas my dad and I use to listen to him on the radio. One of the most talented voices and guitar players. Both are gone now and I miss them both.
+javelin1835 Well, no. But he does have tremendous God-given talent. Even better than that, he knows the "absolute God" and is now eternally in His presence as a result.
Amazing talent. When I watch live concert videos, the volume levels are almost never right. In this video of many different concerts the volumes are perfect. Right before he started playing, he changed the volume setting of his guitar. He is great at every aspect of performing.
Thank you Glen. Your voice is so powerful yet tender with a feeling you are singing just to me. Your guitar playing is so flawless, I find it hard to imagine how the cute little boy taught all this go himself. You definitely have God's gifts for singing and playing. you are also so pleasant to watch, a handsome face, well fit body dressed appropriately, and did I say handsome face? I have always loved you as a gift to make my day better.
Wow, love that instrumental/jazzy version of Ain't No Sunshine, excellent!! I also really like those old electric ovations, you hardly ever see those anymore.
He was a consummate musician. He always played and sang with passion and excellence. RIP - so glad you came to know Jesus! Some day in heaven I want to shake your hand and play a tune with you!!
Glen is one of the most recorded guitarists that is a known fact but I'm thinking he may also one of the most televised musicians as well does anybody know if I'm onto something here?
NEC PLURIBUS IMPAR BLESS YOU MR. CAMPBELL HOPEFULLY GIGGING WITH ELVIS ETC ETC- WONDERFUL GENTLEMAN AGUS STUNNING PERFORMER!!💎💎💎💎💎💎💎👌👌👌🇨🇮🇨🇮👽🇨🇮🇨🇮👋🐕👏👏👏👏👏👏
Unfeakin believable prodigious talent! Ya just can't teach this ! Wish there were vids of him as a child. Supposedly, he learned young and was gratified he could play lone ranger theme song after attending the movie.
5:05 C'mon, you know the "Ain't No Sunshine" instrumental is what you really came here for. Masterful! I am particularly fascinated by the Ovation Breadwinner (Deacon?) Sounds great! Of course, with Glen playing it, what were the chances it wouldn't sound fantastic?
+Rs M Very, very few can match Glen's talent. It was said of him by other musicians that God had given him almost too much talent! I'm so thankful that we're the beneficiaries of all that talent.
I can truly say that Glenn Campbell was a master musician one of the best that ever picked up a guitar . All around guitar player. He could play everything.
One of the most musically talented people to walk the Earth 🌎🎸💖 R.I.P. Glen

Words are not sufficient.

Awesome music from an absolute legend.
Beautiful
I had no idea Glen was such an accomplished guitar player. Every bit as good the more famous guitarists you hear about (Knopfler, Paige, Hendrix).
Squirrel Attackspidy The fact he isn't spoke of or remembered this way in pop culture is a damn shame 🎸🔥
He was one of the most famous and prolific session guitarists in music history. He played on The Beach Boys albums and so many others.
@@kellycoleman715 Frank Sinatra too!
What an awesome show! Wish I was there.❤😊
PURE VOICE MAGNIFICENT

Timeless gold! 👍

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Call me crazy, but the intro to Oh Happy Day sounds just like the beginning of My Sweet Lord (which I suppose technically is similar to One Fine Day.)
Sure miss this man.
🙏🙏🙏🙏
A guitar vertioso. I'd it ok, to put this talented gifted entertainer there next to The King Elvis......
No one better rip glenn

Computer Aided Drafters! Yeah! That is it! CADs!
At 7:30 I thought he was busting into “My Sweet Lord” - which may or may not have been written at that time. :)
Took country out of 3 cord songs
He had the Bieber-cut first.
To bad Bieber could not copy Glenn's talent....
+Rs M
