- One of the greatest 8 minutes of Classic Country Powerhouses assembled on one stage: Glen Campbell, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, Jerry Reed, Mel Tillis, Buck Owens, Minnie Pearl on The Glen Campbell Show, from January 1972.
Sadly all these people are now gone. Back when music was music. None of today's so-called pop singers even come close.
More talent on this stage than all country music in 2021 !!
Update: More than all country music in 2024!
This was a treat! I have only seen part of this clip with Merle doing impersonations of Marty Robbins,Hank Snow, Buck Owens and Johnny Cash. This is the first time I've seen the full 8 minute clip in it's entirety with everyone each doing a short version of their hit songs. Each of these wonderful country singers have left a legacy that will last forever.
So true
I listen to this over and over, i cant get enough. This is literally one of the greatest collaborations in music history
I feel blessed that I was of the generation that was able to experience, first hand, these and other pioneers in country music while they were in their prime and topping the music charts. All of these greats have passed, but their contributions to the world will live on forever.
To them, I say thank you.
Dave Very Well Said. 😊.👍 I'm In that Generation,As Well. Cheers 🎵
More talent on that stage in under 9 minutes than all the all the music awards shows and albums released in the last 2 decades...Pure joy to listen to raw talent, and honest musicians once again.
I never want these 8 minutes to end!
More talent on that stage then there has been in the last 20 years
Back when there were distinct personalities as well as tremendous hit classic music. Can't even hummm today's crap. It's a joke.
Ronnie Bishop amen
They were not only musicians but real entertainers:)
The talent on that stage, without any ego is simply amazing
THESE GUY ARE HAVING FUN MERLE IS REALLY GOOD
Wow! Unbelievable all that incredible talent on one stage! Country music today? Most is a joke!.. Heaven has them now!
People forget this was popular music of the time and the musicians were as skilled as Clapton, page , hendrix, and the rest.
Now all of them are together in heaven.
Their all together again in a different place
Yes, the last in the group was Mel Tillis who just passed a few days ago, Nov 19, 2017
They're*
Heaven.
Glen and Jerry were such amazing singers, but also super guitar players. Not many players could match them during their prime years. Something we don't see in new country stars.other than Brad Paisley.
Keith Urban's pretty close, too
Love it. Such talent and joy
Who knew Merle did impressions...real good ones too...spot on...hahaha
Totally awesome!!!Well done!

I met Merle Haggard in the eighties, he stayed at the hotel i worked at.
Where in the hell did Jerry Reed come from?
Zwiebelkuchen probably his parents
Georgia
+Zwiebelkuchen, Jerry Reed hailed from Atlanta, Georgia.
Texarkana with coors for the boys.
Forgot the snowman in the discription.
No sir, he's clearly listed after June Carter Cash. They were all legends, not enough room to list in main title.
ALL LEGENDS..💗🎸🎸🎸
Buck Owens Jerry Reed Glenn Campbell Johnny Cash Merle haggard June Carter wow !!!!!!!
They look so thin!
Who is the person in the blue sparkly suit singing with June Carter Cash?
Freddie Hart, I believe.
And the other gentkeman was Larry McNeely. Sadly, Freddie and Larry aren't as well remembered as any of the others, but they deserve to be.
Wasn't that Bobby Bare singing Detroit City?
Mel Tillis. I believe that all of the people in the video are Merle, Glen, Buck, Johnny Cash, Jerry Reed, Mel, June Carter Cash, Freddie Hart, and Minnie Pearl.
I believe that Bobby Bare is singing Detroit City.
Love it from Puerto ❤
Who’s that beside June Carter?
Country artist named Freddie Hart, had some big hits in the late 60's/early 70s/
orchestrated violins are what we heard as country slid into commercialism and now pretty-boy glamour costumes (Kenny Chesney, etc.)
Minnie Pearl 😂
Wow! Super. They're all there! And now, all gone. Thank God they're recorded.
😂😂💖💖🎼🎼🎼🎼💖🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
😀Wow excellent 👍but i want the hag..
That was so good to see these great legends at their best. Thank you for sharing 🙂

wow there's only 1 left rip to the rest.
John Scarlato none of them are left unfortunately, googled all the names
jon jonsson look again Freddie Hart is still living he's 91 years old.
The loss of these talents is so unfortunate. Suggest to you 2 look up Willie Nelsons "Last Man Standing". It's Willie take on all his friends and fellow musicians deaths.
Joshua Rutherford I guess thanks for helping me to prove my point. I am not sure why you said this otherwise.
John Scarlato was just suggesting a good song about the loss of these talents. Didn't care much for anyone's point to be made.
Cash and Campbell two Arkansas boys
