In October of '79 the album containing "Hound Dog Man" was released, and on his next album cover, released in june of '80 he had a beard..... so this clip is from sometime between then. It's like he grew a beard RIGHT at the start of the 80's so you could tell what decade a performance was from!... Ha Ha.......

I agree, for me, it's the best version, second was The Rubber Band, third Lenny LeBlanc's version & Orbison's word changes never suited me but I was proud that he recorded my song. The Rubinoos performance of it was actually very good but was never a record. It might have been my second choice otherwise. The first full recording of it was Sailcat's second album which was never released, that was recorded in late '74 or very early '75. Tommy
