I have attempted to discuss the problem, quietly quit, resign with notice and PROMISED the toxic practices would change. Finally when I was ignored and left unable to complete my job.... I walked out. How much mental abuse is too much mental abuse? The Assistant Manager called and said "I understand the problem" then followed it up with "YOU only did this for a 4 day vacation." Maryland law says "at will employment" they can fire you for any reason at any time. If I stay - I become the VICTIM of mental abuse If I leave - I am the Villain of their story 😢
I went thru a similar thing. I complained and got “laid off” after complaining about the abuse from my boss and his “special friend” aka another employee who terrorized others for almost 2 years Smdh
Do you have advice about retaliation. I looked at the website and my situation has all the elements mentioned under that law. I live in NC and work for the state.
I lost my entire career and got banned by an entire corporation for following corporate policy. Maryland is an at will employment state, so they can fire you for anything.
We are at a standstill with our case. The postal service kicked out about 30,000 of us and we won our case about 15 years ago!! We are NOT being paid! They want us to jump through more hoops! No one is helping us!!!!!😢😢😢
Im not a Lawyer just here to help, but this is what I have that can be useful that you can copy if you are in texas let me know what you think, bless. Statement on Dual Filing I am submitting this complaint to assert claims under both federal and state laws. I request that this complaint be dual-filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Texas Workforce Commission Civil Rights Division. I seek to ensure that all of my rights and remedies for illegal discrimination are fully pursued, including those available under both federal and state law. Specifically, I intend to pursue claims under federal laws, including but not limited to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Additionally, I seek to pursue claims under the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act (TCHRA), also known as Chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code, for violations of my rights under Texas state law. This dual filing is made to protect and enforce my legal rights under both federal and state law, ensuring that my claims for illegal discrimination are thoroughly investigated and that all appropriate remedies are pursued.
What can you do when my grandson wants to work he is 20yrs old applied for jobs saying they are hiring they have all his personal information no one in management returns his calls did a background ✅ still no response it doesn't take 3 weeks for check can this be a case of discrimination within the state of Columbus ohio
I got a question can anybody answer after I accepted their offer how long does it take to receive my eeoc settlement check????? Anyone know???? Its been a week since i accepted
I’m going through a lot off retaliation, discrimination, I do not know what do Most lawyers are saying, We can only help you if you get fired. I have been working for this company 15 years and I have my pension benefits seniority I can not leave my job and start over California
You have to realistic. It doesn’t make sense for a lawyer to get involved while a person is still an employee. I’ve done it before. It’s a disaster. The lawyer ends up playing middle man and just relaying messages back and forth. That’s not realistic. If it’s so terrible, quit, find another job and then pursue your claims.
@@jep23452 I totally agree with your statement. I have done it about before,17 years ago when I was single, I went through same problems discrimination, even sexual harassment by female employee, so I quit and filed a wrongful termination, we won the case after trial and jury verdict. Unfortunately this lawsuit caused me a lot of problems at my new job, as my employer is concerned about me filing lawsuits to the point when they kept asking me if I’m in contact with lawyers, maybe they found out that I filed a lawsuit before
Not an attorney but gone through the EEOC. If you haven’t filed gone to HR explicitly stating you believe you were discriminated or filed an EEOC claim (valid claim or not), before the adverse action occurs you cannot establish a claim retaliation. The legal system requires certain procedures before making traction in a case. It’s incredibly technical and requires articulation, argument, evidence and proof as weapons to get anything done.
@@jep23452 What if your organization was sued and lost a discrimination lawsuit? They learned from that mistake and won`t fire someone for something similar and will simply just retaliate through not promoting accordingly
Not all heroes wear capes. People need to know this!!!! Like HR, this organization is very hard to make progress with, and often does not help. People think it is an avenue, but often better to hire an attorney to negotiate a higher severance or settlement. After that start your own business and never return to corporate. Discrimination is at a high right now, and these companies almost know that they will likely get away with it.
I`m at this point with my organization after 25 years and have reached out and tried to get them to do right by me while I continuosly observe new hires being accomodated financially that end up leaving. All while I`ve watched and stood by me being discriminated against. Age, reverse, and gender! Not to mention retaliation
Hello Mr. Pollard. My name is Lamont and I wanted to know if you could recommend someone as sharp as you to represent me in an ADA claim in NC. I have about 30 days left to file my claim. I have been given a right to sue letter from the EEOC here in NC, but I can't find a lawyer that will take the case, although I have tried literally dozens of them.
My only EEOC case ended in a lucrative settlement and involved a teamster from a local union in Illinois. Apparently I was the first minority to work at the Village Hall. I Never realized this until I was released after attempting to join the union. Im not sure if he was the reason we suceeded or if the village was just flat out guilty or admitted wrong! But I personally believe it had alot to do with those darn FREE lawyers superpowers! Bippity boppity boo!
Lost my job due to getting covid, even with a doctor's note in Pennsylvania you can get fired even without reason, its an at will Commonwealth. I did file a complaint with the EEOC Been waiting to hear back from them
I love this guy! Your amazing. And, exactly correct. How sad us less educated people that didn't ever even get the choice to learn the true legal laws or practice even the tip of the iceberg . When I was growing up if you didn't have the money to hire the one that went to school yo learn these rules chapters and verbiage to be able to protect themselves is/was a criminal act in its self. When you say fuckery you are spot on. Kudos to you! ( not to mention you cracked me up when you said it. I think I should hire you for my charge against the former employer that fired me and given no reason in the lone state that is not an at will state out of our whole union. I now know it makes it public policy (thank God I can still be educated. ) and I wish to thank you for your video. Very enlightening. I think I should give it to the legal system around here. Or the local free press channel. Thanks again! God bless!

@@BradfordWilliamson-gn4nt Actually, not really. Not in places like Florida. Florida courts have basically said that if you don't use certain magic words in your EEOC charge, then some of your claims are waived. The 40+ age discrimination it's quite repulsive. Folks can't even land a job because recruiters search online folks age and info.
