"Probably I have had too much enthusiasm in my career, but I can not do anything. It's my way of being, and when I do something, I give myself to one hundred percent "
John Surtees (1934-2017) Four-time 500cc motorcycle World Champion - winning that title in 1956, 1958, 1959 and 1960 - Three time 350cc motorcycle World Champion in 1958, 1959 and 1960. And Formula 1 World Champion in 1964. Greetings from Venezuela.
Simply....what a great great man... we need more like him...
Saw John race and win the 1960 senior TT on his M V Agusta.
Not surprised that he went on to success in F1.
Big John.
nice that Ferrari supplied him with a road car for his later years. deserved in light of what he achieved. I'm sure only for safety in his old age, John would keeping using a bike as well. RIP
Godspeed to one of the last of the gentlemen racers.
john was my grandmothers cousin. no joke.
And this unique man of motorsport never even got Knighted. Perhaps HRH was on holiday with her favourite son on Epstein Island🤨
Irritating music
