Kimi Raikkonen and John Surtees Ferrari Team at the Hillclimb | Festival of Speed 2014
A never-before-seen spectacle took place at the Festival of Speed on Sunday. Two world championship winning Ferrari drivers ascended the hill in formation in the cars they won their respective titles in -- John Surtees in his 1964 Ferrari 158 and Kimi Räikkönen in his 2007 Ferrari F2007. It marks 50 years since Surtees claimed his title, which historically made him a world championship in two wheels and four -- an achievement that remains unique today.
Surtees' first race was in the sidecar of his father's Vincent, but they were disqualified when officials found out that John was just 14 years old. Like Kimi, John won his championship in his first season with Ferrari.
The spectacle was orchestrated by Shell, the company that supplied fuel and lubricants to both championship-winning cars. Shell was one of Ferrari's first ever technical partners, way back in 1930.

Unforgettable John Surtees. His legacy will be eternal. The only person to have won World Championships on both two and four wheels. Best regards from Venezuela.
Like daddy with his son in morning walk.
Two legends
1:00 miss that sound when the cars pulled up on to the grid. Kimi loved this I am sure. The way an F1 car should handle in my view.
what a beauty ... 2007 Ferrari is such a beauty
They didn't want to bring the 2014 f1 car. Instead they brought the leaf blower sitting on the grass behind Kimi at 2:50. I say that's the perfect replacement. Sounds and looks just like the car!!
@homie beaglePG bro trust me, its a 1/4 scale model of the 2014 car
tribute to john surtess 1934-2017
The 64 Ferrari looks fantastic.
That Surtees's car looks unbeliavably small and vulnerable compared to today's cars. May have been amazing fun to drive, but looks very dangerous.
Emotional event. Must've been really nice for John and Kimi too.
oh man you have to buy rFactor game, and some good simulator steering wheel + pedals, and then load the 60' formula one modification! it's is just.. scary!!!!
***** I already have Logitech G27 and I even might have rFactor somewhere. Maybe I'll try it.
Omnia in numeris cool
RIP John
I met John Surtees at FOS one year, basically I was in his way when he needed to get in a car to drive it up the hill. He was an absolute gentleman, took time to chat to me as he got ready, had waited for me to finish a picture I was taking of the car, I had no idea he was behind me until he asked very politely’ excuse me young sir, I need to get in that’. Made my weekend.
I vowed to myself that I will visit the festival of speed once before I die.
I loved how Kimi kept blipping the throttle and breaking the tires loose!
Wave from Kimi at 0:39 :)
grandissimi, bella soddisfazione per chi ha avuto l'onore di vedervi.
Why didn’t they interview John Surtees, he is interesting, he achieved way more than the Finn. And his relationship with Enzo....
HONOR the LEGEND.
Great emotions, great video!

Kimi In F1, WRC, And Club Cars would be a treat, ya?
Where can I get that Ferrari leaf blower?
Didn't they interview Surtees too?
Valentino e vodka boy! LOL
I am scared how old I am - born 1964
Pretty cool, I just wish you would check the spelling of the names before posting... :-)
Why does raikonnen run wet instead of dry tyres? I see them run wet instead of dry on alot of promo events. Can someone enlighten me?
they are softer, so you have more grip at low speeds, and they are made to run cooler.
***** Sorry mate, their wets, the grooved dry tyres they used back then were to decrease traction in an effort to get the cars to move around a bit more. As Kenton says, wets are a much softer compound and provide more grip on a quick run up Goodwood without the need for tyre blankets. BTW the grooved drys were only used til 2008.
My Aunties house is called "Surtees", he was my late uncles cousin.
surtees. only the driver that can sit with schumacher, hamilton, lauda, senna, fangio, clark, stewart and ascari or rossi, rainey, criville, hailwood, agostini, doohan, lorenzo, marquez
Look at 2:51
Bwoah
Ok ... swap cars and do it again :-)

A Ferrari Leaf blower??????

That IS a leaf blower for the brakes and or the radiators. The starters look nothing like that
RIP John
