@billlloyd4354 wouldn’t we all! My friend was at the show with Gil de Ferran’s Indy 500 Penske car in a tribute and had the opportunity to help the Pettys get theirs ready so I was watching the Goodwood livestream during the day and thought this was fun.
@ 1 min he does an old school double clutch 3'rd to 2'nd downshift. Back in 1969 there were no sychros strong enough to take the torque of the Hemi so they raced crashboxes. Lift off, pull into neutral, blip the throttle to match the gearbox and engine and it slides right into second....now imagine racing Riverside and shifting about 25 times a lap
Say what you will about Kyle, but seeing a Petty tearing up a track with that old 43 Superbird will never, ever get old.
From before NASCAR turned into All Star Wrestling on Wheels. The Pettys were a class act.
That is exactly what it turned into.
Junior Johnson took his '63 Chevy Cup Car with the famed "Mystery Motor" to Goodwood years ago. I would love to see that show someday.
You could have live streamed it. Next year!
@@ArtzAngel27 True. But I'd like to see it in person.

Thanks for sharing
Kyle nice to meet you racing on the Speedway in 2024
The Petty family is awesome

Such a bare bones interior in those old cars.
Every time i watch a video of Kyle Petty, he does or says something that makes me laugh and makes me feel good about never growing.
This awesome 😊
HP and Kyle
The driver only had a helmet & seat belt. 🏁
Love it!
Pretty cool to watch you, drive it.
Probably the first actual "stock car" Kyle has actually driven.
Looks like some play in the steering
I would be interested to ask Kyle how it handled those old cars you really had to drive with your whole body
Cool.
👍
Kyle wrecks everything, no way should he be in any car. Let alone in classic race car..
He's won 8 races.
@@michaelhall736I know, pretty sad.
