Most definitely!!! Sat down and ate with Richard Petty, and many others, one eveni.g at the Raceway Grill in Darlington, when I was in high school in Darlington, during the week before the race on Sunday. Really nice man, what you see, is what you get. A fine southern gentilman.
I grew up in the North in my younger years but was addicted to NASCAR, Richard Petty, and Mopar at the ripe old age of 16 thanks to my Dad and the King. This was a great video that bought back many memories from the best time of my life. Thanks for sharing your stories Richard and Kyle.
Grew up a RP fan. Then moved from Pa to Charlotte & worked @ Davey Tree mechanic shop in the back yard of Saco & was a HUGE KP fan. Met Kyle, Patty & Adam many times & RP a few times. They were truly the nicest most genuine people & sure they are the best family in Nascar. Thanks for sharing this video.
Hey, even Long Island's Islip got to see Richard Petty for annual NASCAR races and when the King came to town, it was must see. We went every year for the big race. 1971was the last NASCAR race and the King won by two laps. Was 10 years old. Thank you for the memories, Richard Petty
These sorts of interviews/recorded conversations are so very important to produce while the opportunity still exists. This video will now be available to not only the world, but more importantly to the family members present and future to come. Would that all of us had such documented history for our own family that have passed on... I'd kill to have such a thing for my own dad, mom, grandparents etc. - Ed on the Ridge
Awesome to see a father/son sitting down and having a conversation about "Old times". Richard was my childhood hero during the late 60's early 70's after my dad took me to the mall for an autograph session, all the nascar cars were in the mall on display. They would have all the IMSA cars on display at different times when they raced at Riverside as well. Richard, Kyle and later Adam have always been a class act imo.
Thank you for sharing your stories! It’s so nice to see the family part of the business, Growing up in the 70s my Dad working for Chrysler and all the down falls of that I became a Petty fan because you drove Mopars and that was a huge boost for me
An Inspiration to my Dad and I, We use to get Newsletters from Richard to keep us updated. My Dad bought a 69 Charger that I learned to drive at 14 years old. I learned to work on the Charger in my teenage years. Thank You, for being you in racing for my Dad. My Dad passed about 13 years ago.
So good to see a hero still hanging around after all these years. I remember "Wide World of Sports" and Richard Petty burning up the tracks with Al/Bobby Unser, AJ Foyt! Man this is wonderful!
My daddy loved Richard Petty my dad was in Daytona in 1959 and watch Lee win and he said from that day forward, he was always a petty fan. I know one thing Richard Petty sold him more Chrysler products there any salesman that has ever been a car salesman at Chrysler….. I think my first words as a baby was Richard Petty.
what a great interview with the King, would have liked to hear the story about Richard having that shop rag in his mouth while he was driving a race car.
I've been up to the Petty open houses they used to have & followed them in every conceivable way, so i didn't think i'd hear anything "new" here. But i was pleasantly surprised, the interviewer seems to have done a REALLY good job of making Richard & Kyle feel open & relaxed & they DID tell cool stories new to me.
I went to tour the wood brother shop when Kyle drove the 7 Eleven Ford and we stopped by the Kyle Petty Boot Barn on the way home. I still have that picture in front of the store!
Hello Richard, My grandpa hasn’t been feeling the best lately and I wanted to do something for him. I had talked to him recently and he’s been a big nascar fan for a while and you are one of his favorite racers. He had just gave me a bunch of old nascar shirts to sell but I’d rather make him happy and send it to people and get pictures of them in them. If you would be willing to it would mean the world. I can send you some pictures of them if you want to choose one and I could ship it to you. Then all I would ask for is a picture and maybe a-little note. If that’s to much a picture will do. Thank you! Dylan Snyder
Man I like ole Kyle but dang man stop cutting people off when they are talking. I have watched several interviews with him lately and he is constantly talking over people.
I've met them both and they are just what you see . Super nice and good people.....I couldn't afford car racing but I have been racing my whole life on a BMX MTB track..... Racing is racing
I think it's a safe bet that no one has ever or will ever sign as many autographs as the King.
The Petty, Inman and Wood families have been blessed with the best memories. I love how much they can relocate.
I thought they always lived in Level Cross ?

Good show. NASCAR networks are dropping the ball on talking to Richard Petty. Do it while he’s still here. He is the Babe Ruth of racing.
How blessed we have been to have been able to know, watch and learn from the Petty family.

Economics. Discuss the money. We are all ok that you are rich. Tell us that story. You will not lose fans over it

those cb hats look like you hit a bird a 70 mph but that is Rp trademark
Is there any plans for any meet and greets during the 75th celebration?
