He is so calm and relaxed, his control is stupidly amazing and he actually doesn't give one shit. This video shows the tremendous driving skill these F1 pilots possess.
I usually agree with this, have seen many many videos of F1 pilots using "normal cars" and was always impressed be it Senna, Hill, Hamilton, Schumacher..... But this time wasn't so impressed with Kimi. I still remember how Hill made the journalist puke in a single lap with a "normal" Mercedes, and Senna skills with the Honda NSX back then......looked way more impressive than Kimi with the f12. Maybe Kimi just didn't care tho.
Rally drivers are far more skillful. Kimi and kubica never made it when they switched to rallying it's a far more difficult than f1 as no corner is ever the same.
@@yanan3681 it's a different sport, however I think a Rally driver with a " normal" car will be faster (than the f1 driver) on regular roads and the f1 driver with the sale "normal" car will be faster (than the rally driver) on track.
I think Kimi's brain (like any F1 driver) is ticking over at about fifty billion RPM so everything in the 'normal' world is in slow-motion. To him, driving a Ferrari F12 is like driving a steam-roller. If you slow the video down 10,000 times you can see that mid-way through the lap, he unwraps a sandwich and takes a bite then sends a text message
that makes me wonder: are his general reaction times so much faster than everyone elses, or is that just the case for driving? because if not, than he really must feel bored in the "normal-speed-world" :D
Go t ok a Kart track and do some Karting, not the governed ones, a real race Kart, do that as much as you can, then when you go race a full size car, you will find that as you get used to reacting to a Kart, a real car starts feeling super slow. Holy fucking hell, 2:15 front wheels going over the curb at opposite lock while power sliding the back and STILL hitting the curb on the following exit curve... rrrright... here Kimi, have my beer.
I particularly enjoyed the lift-off oversteer at 2:33 and the way he gave a flick toward the apex, accompanied with a tiny throttle stab at just the right moment to get the back end loose, which allowed him to get perfectly and aggressively right on top of the lines before carefully drifting toward track-out using all the available road surface. My feeling is you can't watch these videos 'too many' times, because you should always be learning something from the masters.
To be honest, I believe the 'throttle blip' was in fact the computer-actuated rev-match, but he knew it was coming and timed it perfectly in concert with the steering input. Driving well is a superb form of performance art, in my humble opinion, and I could easily watch him do it all day long.
Unbelievable how many times Kimi was driving with one hand at least 3 times at over 130kph..just insane and a testament to how amazing a driver he is..

unanutriainfame In my opinion Kimi did quite well in WRC. Rally is super difficult sport and you need lots of experience to get in podium. Before that season Kimi had done only ONE rally in a WRC-car and couple more in s2000.
