I just got myself a secondhand 256 GB iPhone 12 Pro Max. I upgraded from a 64 GB XS Max. I decided to buy an older model as the latest iPhones don't stand out. I love my iPhone 12 Pro Max cameras!
Did exactly the same and it was the best decision i could make. Nightphotos are impressive and quality and ultra wide camera so many things are better.
I'm gonna do the same. The latest versions do stand out for me but the price for the 12 Pro Max seems right. The slight advantages don't make it worthwhile for me to spend the money I don't have right now.
Great video! I watched 10 videos to compare whether I wanted to upgrade from 12 Pro Max to 14 Pro Max (I ultimately chose to), and this was by far the best one since the others are 90% focused on portrait or wedding shots. So thank you for the night/landscape analysis!

12 still a good phone. I am happy with it. Not worth upgrading to 14 at the moment.. maybe to 15 if there is something better on the 15.. but till then i will stick to my 12. Obviously i am speaking about the MAX version. 💪🏼
I was looking forward to the 14 pro max to have significant differences on the front camera since I travel solo and selfies are my way to create memories. Both cameras are the same so it’s not worth to change at least for me.
Instead of getting the 14 Pro Max, I´ll simply have the battery of my 12 Pro Max replaced and wait for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Just not worth it for me at the moment.
I have the 12 Pro Max. Terrific images. Not in hurry for the 14. Also own the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. Of course it, and the bag of lenses are heavier and take more planning, but depends whether you're shooting for Instagram or National Geographic. Don't see too many White House correspondents, NBA photojournalists, or wedding photographers holding up iPhones. DSLR is very much alive for professionals.

iPhone 12 Pro is just as good from what I see.
In most conditions that’s true, the telephoto is where I see real improvements!
Is it really worth it to get the 12 pro in step of the 14 pro I honestly just want the camera quality but the 14 is way expencer now

While ProRAW is good, the file size makes it useless on 14.
I still think that 13 Pro/Max represents the best balance b/w 14 and 12. 12 lacks details (too much smoothening) vs. 14 too much sharpening.
