I noticed on larger screen such as my 55 inch TV, 12 Pro Max looks way more natural as it has no oversharpening while the 15 Pro Max you actually notice the artifact around the edges due to oversharpening and overprocessing. Both are perfect on small devices tho
I definitely noticed the over sharpening on my monitor when I was putting the footage side by side. I didn’t show it, but it’s even more noticeable in photos.
@@ROAMitRALPHhow long would you say the battery lasts you with 85% health? And, do you use data or wifi or both? And do you play games? Sorry if it sounds like an intervention 😂 I’m looking to buy a 12 pro soon and I’m curious about what I’m getting.
I have a 12 Pro Max. Earlier this year I replaced the battery. The cost was very reasonable. It’s like having a new phone. And because I’ve always kept it in a case with a screen protector it looks like a new phone too. One thing I haven’t seen from reviewers is a comparison in time to charge. Curious what if any difference the USB 3.0 makes on the Pro.
I still use my 12 Pro Max daily. My battery health on it is at 86% and I had it since Day 1. I’ve never had to get my iPhone battery replaced, was it pricey?
In a nutshell (correct me if I'm wrong): - the 15's higher megapixel count may result in sharper footage (but not by much) - the 15 deals slightly better with highlights/glare. Built-in UV filter? Again, thank you for the great comparison.
Other than some contrast, color grading and lens flair, I don't really see a whole lot thats different between these two. This is both good and disappointing. Great for those who have older devices, knowing they still are going to get some of the greatest photos/videos around, but it's also bad that there isn't a great enough difference between these two to deserve the hype people are claiming of the 15 over the 12. I own 12 Pro, 14 Pro, 15 Pro Max. So I'll test myself and see what I come up with but overall, its nice that the lens flair is less and the contrast and color punch is more.
what about cinematic mode, 48mp sensor, 5x telephoto, action mode, photonic engine, raw photo, pro res video, log footage, picture custom styles & 7 lenses with all different focal lengths all of these which are present in 15pm and not in 12pm. how can it be disappointing or you just ignoring the facts
Yeah, the 12 was still pretty good compared to the 15. Not a big reason to upgrade unless you really want some manual control of the camera. Have you had a chance to test them out yourself yet? I’m curious about your thoughts.
I’m still currently using iPhone 12 Pro Max since March 2021, and I haven’t decided when I should upgrade to another iPhone but I am thinking about upgrading to iPhone 16 Pro Max but the only thing would stop me from upgrading to another iPhone is getting a truck for myself. So maybe it’s best for me to wait until next year’s iPhone 17 🤷🏼♂️🔥
I only upgraded because my old phone broke (Samsung Note 10). I have 2 lines and I’m actually not someone who upgrades often, so I figured I might as well take advantage and make a video lol.
2:05 is it just me or.. why does 48 mm on iPhone 15 Pro Max look better than 65 mm on iPhone 12 Pro Max, even though 65 mm is optical and 48 mm on the 15 is just literally cropping in from the 48 MP sensor? The HDR effect and color reproduction are so much better on the 15. But one thing though, oversharpened is a real thing. And I wish Apple got rid of it.
I don’t blame you. I daily use both phones and it doesn’t matter which one I pull out of my pocket to use. I wonder if there’ll be any big changes when the 16 comes out. How’s your battery life on your 12?

Hi Ralph, do iphones crop in when shooting video? The video stabilization of my Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus comes with a crop factor of 1.3, but as far as I know the newer iPhones with sensor shift stabilization don't crop in and so a 24mm will stay a 24mm, regardless of wether taking photos or shooting videos in standard mode (action mode is another story). It would be nice if you could confirm this.
I used to be a Note 10 user so I know exactly what you’re talking about. It only crops in when you’re using the active mode, otherwise to my knowledge it doesn’t crop in.
@@ROAMitRALPH Yes I'm considering it. As for the ultra wide lens I'm pretty good with the 1.3 crop on the 13mm ultra wide, it looks similar to the focal lenght of the lInear mode on a Gopro. However, the ultra wide lense can't focus and vlogging with a 24mm+30% crop is just too narrow, so I'm considering getting either an iphone 13 or iphone 14 , which then gives me more flexibility and even better image quality. Now that the new GoPro and iphone series comes out, it's difficult to make a decision.
