I agree, image quality isn’t quite there. And I’ve been spoiled by obstacle avoidance lol. My very first drone was the Mini 3 Pro. I’ve actually had the Neo bump into branches and I notice that when judging distances for the quick shots, you’ll want to go shorter to be a little safe (ie, choose 3m when you think you want 4m). I know it’s early, but I know they’ll get a lot of this fixed whenever they come out with a Neo 2

@@S2KPHD yeah, I think they’ll release a Neo 2 in the future. Feels like this one was just to see if there was interest in a drone like this, and then they’ll fine tune it for the next gen. Just like how their Pocket 3 is leaps ahead of their original Pocket camera. Btw, your username, you drive an S2K? I used to own an AP2

@@ROAMitRALPH Yeah, 2003 AP1. Bought a Suzuka Blue in 06 with 12K miles. Sold it in 2014 at 30K when my first born was coming. Good times.

The way he edited the video it is really glitchy. I don't think his editing frame rate was matched to the NEO 30 or 60 fps. I'm going to guess he was editing in 24 fps or something like that. The NEO video is really smooth when done right but in terms of true 4k, yes it is a 4k sensor but for stabilization it has to crop in a lot lowering the actual recorded resolution and then it up-converts back to 4k so it loses detail for sure. You can get some of it back by recording in 4x3 using the DJI Goggles, this way it records in 4k but with more pixels top and bottom then standard 4k. You can then drop it into GyroFlow and stabilize in post keeping more data. Plus when recording using the DJI Goggles, you can adjust sharpness and noise setting s which helps make the video a lot more pleasing to look at. I have some recording on my channel that I think look a lot better.

for 1080p 50mpbs (megabits not bytes) is was bottom of BC standard around 2016ish in the USA (that and 10bit but 10bit went out the window because action cams)...I used to sell PV cameras at B and H - 50mbits for 4k its unacceptably low - remember 4 k is 4 x times the res of HD as resolution scales exponentially... but I bought one anyways... its kind of my in case I need a drone in a pinch drone since its small I can put in camera bag and charge usb and use phone so no huge dji controller... its BAD but usable for social or in a pinch etc... its fun though so IDK

It’s a fun camera. I actually bought a used one for cheap when I was in Japan mainly because I really like the form factor of it.

Will work with N2, N3, RC2 and Goggles 3 combined with motion or fpv controller.

You could connect it to a controller like @mssippijim was saying. Or you could even use your phone as a controller, but you can’t fly far with it (50m I believe) with your phone

Just tested it out it seems like you can. I have it connected to my monitor and then plugged the battery to my SmallRig VB99 Pro. It’s charging at 5.2V

I’m really liking it. I switched to this over the MantisPod because it’s just easier to use. The only thing I’m missing is being able to go really low with it, but the quick open legs is so worth it to me.

I wish I did. I tried the Insta360 vibration dampener and that was not doing it. Right now I’m looking at piecing some stuff together from Quadlock and see if that works better. If you find something, please let me know 🙏🏼

You know what, I didn’t even think about that 😅. I normally only clean my sensor when I have dust on it, and definitely not as careless like I did here (especially on the highest speed 🤦🏻‍♂️)

You can put your camera into cage, and use cold shoe adapter from smallrig if you are concerned about mounting it on your camera hot shoe

Yes, I usually use a smallrig half cage on my camera to mount it. The cage has a cold shoe but it’s a little off centered (probably different for each camera and cage type). I prefer doing it that way than mounting it on my hot shoe.

You can add a wireless microphone that has a receiver that uses a 3.5mm jack. It won’t work via USB-C. In this video, I tested it using my DJI Mic 2 receiver connected with a 3.5mm jack. The only problem is you’ll need to find a way to mount the receiver.
