You should've turned off the scene optimization option. Check other reviewers comparison. S21 ultra got better dynamic range than Iphone 12 Pro Max. But falls behind Iphones in video department.

If they follow the same pattern as that have in the past, there is usually a big one on launch day (29th? in this case) and then about 30-45 days after that another large one. Then small, usually QoL updates peppered in.

That was fixed in ios 14.4, I have it installed on my 12 pro max and I no longer have that problem.

Amazing what a phone camera can do! They are both wonderful. I actually have a Note 20 Ultra and an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Overall, I prefer my Samsung, but can't go wrong with either one.

Mate you just made me to finally chose the phone I want,and this is going to be the s21 ultra. I was waiting for days now to see a real review of this 2 phones good job. You just gained a subscriber.
With Android, you can connect a cable to transfer your GBs of photos and videos fast. On iPhone, all cable or wireless transfer are slow. I use an iPhone currently and it's disappointing to see the ancient lightning technology still around. Anything that's slower than transfer speed of a USB3 SD card slot is slow to me. Edited to include the part on SD card.
U can transfer tons of photos through 3u tools .....and if u have mac.....then the worry doesn't exist....."airdrop"✌🏻

Long story short with android you can do whatever you want but with ios you can use what apple want you to use
airdrop usually transfers gigabytes of videos to another iphone or mac in less than 10 seconds though

Been waiting on this! Every other camera comparison I've seen has been the Exynos variant.
The Snapdragon variants I seen had better video quality

Oh yeah, and Exynos Variant is clearly still inferior to the Snapdragon variant.
Some tech reviewers forgot to mention the variant they use in a comparison video which is not right. Because they are clearly two different phones.
The difference is not only in processing power, temperature and battery performance.

I have the Samsung S21, and there are so many ways to use the camera that they need a book out. But I think the iPhone 12 pro max does a better job on photo and video if you are just a point and shoot type of person. The Samsung S21 has that pro mode and you can also save in RAW format. That's why I picked the S21.
I trust this channels camera comparisons over all. I was actually set to switch over the the s21 ultra from my iPhone 11 Pro, I guess I get bored of a phone quickly in a year . This time though I am sticking with what I have. It’s not too far off the 12 Pro Max in performance and these two phones in the video are more down to preference than performance.
I would conclude that Samsung do great camera smart phones and so do Apple. If you want all the extra flexibility and zoom , the go with Samsung but I still think Apple gives a slightly better over all experience.
I still can’t sacrifice the Apple ecosystem for what Samsung offers in the way of better displays and general features/ customisation. I need to be able to use LumaFusion on my phone and IPad Pro.
I am a fan of smartphones in general and you can’t go wrong with the offerings from Google, Apple and Samsung with cameras. If the iPhone 13 doesn’t offer the 120Hz LTPO panel and a better range in optical zoom at the end of the year and I see significant quality in the next generation of Samsung phones, I think I will have to finally leave iPhones .
I love iPhone but I do editing on LumaFusion with iPad Pro. This way I can have a phone I love (Samsung) while using the iPad for editing on a simple app I love!
Samsung would sell more phones when they replace that Samsung logo with the Galaxy logo on the back, the way they are doing it in Japanese market. At least in my own opinion.

to be honest it looks fantastic the photos on both cameras!! maybe better HDR on the iphone but better zoom options on the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Only in zoom! Night photography on the iPhone has better HDR and dynamic range! iPhones better at night photography, s21 ultra is better at zoom. I’ve noticed day shots on the iPhone are a bit more better with great HDR dynamic range and deep fusion making the photos sharper and more detail. I’m not saying s21 is bad because it’s quite good! I wouldn’t say s21 won though!
@@joshbonner9409 not if you are using the wide angle camera for night photography or the zoom lenses for night photography, zoom combined with wide angle makes a big chunk of total photos, also as we all know, samsung would release a major update within a month or two, they always do.

No doubt, we love Samsung this time, after a long time we got a new look from Samsung and the camera performance looking fantastic and batter than i phone, only the night node in i phone is slightly better than Samsung S21 Ultra , except night mode, Samsung is two step ahead from Apple.

Such a great camera comparison as always Danny. I've been using iPhones for a long time. This time Samsung S21 Ultra can cut it. I would say for overall performance S21 is still better, taking versatility into consideration. The super close macro and super zoom 100x, as well as night mode across all 4 lenses and almost all shooting modes is godsend. I'm getting S21 ultra.

Cpu is better on exynos, gpu is much better on Snapdragon but the power efficiency this time is comparable
That`s what I meant, s20 fe baterry overheat so fast and drain so quickly. That is the most signficance upgrade I expect.
@@Santti.G yeah exynos 990 was trash, overheating, less performance and as much as 1 hour leas screen on time compared to Snapdragon varient. Exynos 2100 have improved a lot, a lot.
If you want package go with Samsung.
If you want simplicity go with Apple.

How do the cameras of the S21 Ultra compare to the Note 20 Ultra?
Afterr seeking some samples I think they're comperable at the moment. Bur remember camera software on Note20 Ultra is mature at the moment and S21 Ultra after some updates may be better but just a notch better + you have more flexible zoom reach on S21.

@@jimmcnevin9367 I don't know. I cannot recommend any Samsung at the moment since 2 months ago I said goodbye to my S20+ 5G and bought iPhone 12 Pro Max. And I don't wanna come back to Samsung "work in progress" cameras and updates. I am still using my vanilla Galaxy S10+ as my corporate phone and it's IMHO the most reliable camera and phone I have ever had.
for portraits and videos, i prefer the iphone; other else it's s21u
The fact that s21 ultra has smart ISO in primary camera ( which means it makes two simultaneous shots, one with low ISO and one with high, this way there is so much room playing with those variables in future updates to get the perfect shot regardless of the situation) and also camera array versatility, means Samsung has basically in hands maybe the most powerful mobile camera hardware. Let's hope they get the software right for it

Look how the tables have turned. Samsung became more natural in colors while having saturated colors way back then and iphone became very saturated while being more true to life and color accurate back then.
And this was with scene optimizer, if it was off colors would have been even more accurate

6:50 will show you the real differences between these phones. iPhone has a weird automatic edited photo that makes everything look flat and unnatural. The Galaxy is more contrast and color accurate. And not to mention it has more detail. There is not a single aspect about iPhone’s camera that beats the galaxy’s. It’s funny that people think they’re neck and neck. They’re not even close. And I’ve been an iPhone user since iPhone 4. And I still use an iPhone to this day. I used to be an iPhone photographer for crying out loud. People wake up lol. iPhone’s camera sucks today and people are still praising in the blind.
I recommend lower the exposure when shooting Night mode on Samsung phones.

There were definitely a handful of photos that looked better on the iPhone but I think overall I still go with Galaxy on this one. Especially with all the functionality and customization you can't go wrong. Those zoom shots look amazing! Also envious you get to enjoy Disney. 😅
