you got to play your whole character with the mentality of 'let the luck decide for me' to get the most out of this character, not just the subclass features. Then this makes sense
First video and already love you guys, cause you focus on what's more important in D&D and that's NOT combat at all, but the role play in the lore. Great job!
That teleport is BUSTED! It is essentially thuderstep, but it deals force (the best damage type), teleports you 30 ft further, and you can "cast" it as a BONUS ACTION!!!!! Like what?!?!?!?!?
I could see this being a very non-non-stereotypical rouge that you can roll up with. I can see this being fun and interesting, with a charisma stat being used.
Thinking about it right now. This class can make you build a non finesse weapon based character with playing cards. Your card attack can be done while sneak attack is not used, but does not imples that you should be able to aply sneak attack for the effect to happen. With non finesse weapons thats the case.
Subclasses often change the ability score layout. What youre saying is essentially the same as claiming that the arcane trickster is bad because it relies on int instead of dex. Also multiclass this with a hexblade warlock and you don't have to use dex at all and use Cha for everything.
@@adriandetweiler5732 yeah... I see the benefit but really I think the hexblade dip is terrible for the game fr a design perspective. If i was a DM i would never allow multiclassing without a good rp reason.
@@DaDunge A good RP reason is easy to come by. If you dislike the Hexblade dip so much, why even mention it? It's a great way to maximize the potential of a build at low cost. Some folks aren't into min/maxing, I understand that very well. 2 campaigns I'm playing in currently as an Arcane Trickster and an Ancestral Guardian. I have no intention of multi-classing these characters. The 3rd campaign I'm playing an Oath of Vengeance Paladin. I'll be running 5 levels of Hexblade on this build for the incredible Eldritch Smite invocation. Play what you enjoy. Otherwise the game will stale.
That is correct, but what we were trying to say is the loaded dice and uncanny dodge both use a reaction and help prevent damage from incoming attacks. Since they fill a similar role, it seems like it would make sense to pick either dragon chess or wild card since you already have uncanny dodge (though it is weaker). Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching!
Take the deck of cards and every time you roll initiative you shout "It's time to DUEL!" and if you're ever in a pickle you spout "I must trust in the heart of the cards" or some nonsense like that.
Oh the wild card. Lol. Mythiral playing cards. Throwing weapon fighting style. Archery feat. .... I'm having some fun with this. Toss 8 cards on the ground and cast Animate Object elven accuracy, ummm. Yea I could have some fun with this class. Lol elven bladesinger lol that uses playing cards as his weapon of choice. Hes a bit of a outcast because he doesn't conform to the 4 established forms of bladesingers. Lol Crap. I may have something here.
Could this combo with kensei? I can see it like Gambit (X-Man), acrobatic and dashling attaking your enemies with your cards, with a quarterstaff and martial arts.
It can be interesting for sure, but with the major combat uses of it (and it being a level 17 ability), it would probably feel bad to use in RP in most circumstances if that makes sense. Thanks for watching!
"Kinda weird for a Rogue to dip into Charisma."
SWASHBUCKLER: Am I a joke to you?

Was this book written by guy fiari? Because I feel like we imported it from flavor town!
fieri*
That was pretty good
lol
WILDCARD! Seems like a fun and strong subclass. Now I just have to convince my DM to let me play it.
Guys, mix this with wild magic sorcerers chart, and let the shananagans begin

Tulok, if your watching this, use this to make Hisoka (HxH) or Gambit (X Men), or, well, Twisted Fate

I'm glad someone acknowledged the benefit of hexblade dip with this subclass.

Fighter: Hey who cut the brakes to this carriage?
Wild Card Rogue: WILD CARD BITCHES! YEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAWWWWWWWW! *jumps out the window*
Actually, you won't be needing Uncanny Dodge if your Loaded Dice cause the incoming attack to miss...

Kinda seems like they smashed rogue and bard together. Sounds fun.
I feel like the dice and chess either need more options or be changed

You forgot on the RP side that the phasing through walls ability can be very interesting

Charlie kelly would be proud
Do u have infinite cards or
You have a number of cards equal to Charisma modifier and get them back on long rest (check around 3:00 minute mark) Thanks for watching!
Gambit anyone?
never checked out Runeterra. Is it all this busted OP? Game balance....naw we gonna go big!
Wildcard is very likely why Runeterra isn't canon. Way overpowered compared to other rogues.
