- The BMW M5 Competition is an absolute animal. I review the BMW M5 competition and take you along and show you the sounds, accelerations, interior and exterior overview of BMW's supersaloon. The bmw m5 competition runs a 4.4 v8 twin turbo and produces 616 bhp and a 0-60 time of just 3.3 seconds according to BMW although most have timed the M5 at 3.1 seconds. It is so quick and with awd and 2wd modes it makes the m5 comp a brilliant choice of car whilst having rear seats and a large boot!

good review, ive had my comp now 3 months already mapped to 740bhp, its so addictive to drive and plant your foot, performance is breathtaking.
Great video man. I have a stage 1 tuned 435d at about 400bhp, but 616bhp on this M5 is off the hook!! So many guys reviewing cars on youtube these days. Your knowledge & genuine passion for cars shines through all the time. We really loved the recent vids from the Fiat museum! Keep it up!

I have the standard M5 and whilst the comp has been tweaked I can assure you the standard is still a great DD. There’s nothing in the drive between the two on UK roads and the comfort level is a little more acceptable given the poor state of our roads here in the UK. BMW have however created two magnificent machines and I’m very fortunate to have one to hoon around in.

Me too! Picked up m5 a month ago and bloody love it. I have driven the competition twice and found the suspension too stiff for a roads and motorways even in comfort mode. Not too kenn on all the back trim too. Love it
It's good to be able to experience the feeling that you like a car, watch vids...actually get to buy it and experiance it in your life. For most irs just a dream which fades behind the mind of 9-5 employee that needs to refuel his VW polo.

Andrew Gibbs they’re depreciating pretty quickly so if you can stretch to £67 you could possibly get one 👍 buying a new one is for rich people who don’t care about depreciation.
Does it have the same engine as the M8? From the specs it was quite the same as the M8

What did you think of the pumped in sound through the speakers I heard it’s not great at least the back end sounds good. !!! 👍🏻
I can't really tell they are doing it at all. It's quite quiet when turning of the exhaust and eco mode. It 'could' be louder in full on mode inside, but it's following the new sound restrictions in EU (next gen E63 will be much quieter as well :(.
I could not honestly tell if they are or not doing it, but the car has a lot of sound insulation, so it's kind of quiet inside with windows up ...

The amazing thing is you can have a low mileage used one for under £70k. Isn’t depreciation a glorious thing? 😂 well not for the first buyer.

Stef ABtv indeed. My car was about £30k new. I bought it at three and half years old 4 years ago, for £12.5k. Ok it had done a few miles, but its still reliable and in great condition. These F90 M5s have become an amazing performance/luxury bargain 👍

I can bet that those seat weigh about a tonne on its own, too much computer aid for virtually everything, hence the 2 tonne
I don’t like that it’s not as comfortable as the other 5 series...they say it’s as comfortable as the M2 comp...not impressed.

Aren’t these cars nearly too good? Everyone says you don’t get the sensation of speed in newer cars like this.
This is why you get the Abarth 124 Spider like me.
At 190 ... you do feel the speed :) It feel at home 80-130. It's almost 'too good' .... it does exactly what it's marketed and you expect ... but sometimes too good is not 'good'. Impressive, capable and fast, but perhaps a bit boring (still driving it daily for another month, before I get back into my 911 Turbo S ... to see if I really enjoy the 911 then, or if I want back to the M5). Put 5,000 miles on it in 10 days ...

Great cars! S55 is a solid engine!
WTF...How much well over getting on for 110K for a pimped 5 series with a hideously cheap badge on the tail and a ride quality that is almost undrivable on anything but perfect tarmac. For the price you are into 991 GT3 and McLaren 570 territory. No contest.
Still a piece of shit compared to an Abarth.
I really do love my Abarth cars. But you can not even compare the two. Build quality, tech, luxury everything is better than the Abarth. Let’s be honest here. We can say the Abarth May be more fun and raw but I have to massively disagree with you and I love Abarths
