- On this channel, I have reviewed a lot of different air conditioners including window AC units but none of them have taken me by surprise as much as the GE Profile Clearview AC. In fact, I would say the GE Profile Clearview is the best window AC you can buy right now! The unit that I have in the video is the Clearview 6100 BTU unit however it's also available in 8300 BTU. Not only does it cool down a room quickly and efficiently but it's also one of the quietest window air conditioners on the market. If you want to see this GE profile air conditioner against other air conditioners such as the frigidaire window air conditioner let me know in the comments!

Update: I got to use the AC since I installed it. It works great and is very quite. The model is perfect for my application. Thanks for the video review. It convinced me to buy the 8300 BTU model. I mounted it in a replacement window that has a deep sill because my outside walls are on 6 inch studs. Because of this I added a small piece of 2x3 inch wood block in addition to the included mounting supports for extra support. It’s not warm enough to use the AC yet but it’s convenient to be able to open the window to enjoy the spring air while the AC is in the window. The unit is plugged in but not turned on. During the first night I noticed a green blinking light behind the grill below the control panel. The documentation doesn’t say what this is. I gave a call to GE support and they told me that this is the unit doing self diagnosis and is normal. It should have been noted in the manual to keep one from wasting 30 minutes contacting GE support. I couldn’t get it to connect to WiFi until the next day. I don’t know if it’s related to the diagnosis it was doing, but the WiFi light would not come on when I pressed the button. Every thing is working now. The WiFi light is on and connected to my network and the diagnosis light is out. It’s very quiet even on cool mode and high fan. Being quiet was an important feature since it’s in my bedroom. I’m looking forward to seeing how it works in the heat of the summer.
I just installed this very unit today. It works like a champ!
I just set up my unit in my vertical opening window and I LOVE IT. I a bit anxious about it tripping my breaker or that the way I’m running it could cause it to break because this is my first ac unit. My bedroom was dangerously hot not only do I work from home in that room but I was scared for my dog’s health, so I bought this window unit.
Hows it treated you 8 months later? Runs cheap too?
@@shawnwelch7371 it’s April in Oregon, so I haven’t gotten to turn it on yet. It was energy efficient all summer. My power bill went up but not as much as it was with multiple fans running 24/7 in summer. It’s been higher over winter.
I brought this AC in 2021 and I love it....I also own the Medea U-vert (but I like the GE because it sits a little lower and quiet is an understatement) so if you are looking to buy a Window AC...this is it!
So between the two the ge is quieter? Also which specific model u get?
I also own both models. I regret that I bought the GE. I like the Midea Ushape 12,000 BTU. I bought the Midea at Costco when it was on sale. It is a very nice unit. I installed the GE but I want to return to the manufacture right away. I also watched all the RUclips about about both models. Many people said they like the GE. I was thinking trying the GE. I regret I bought it. If I can go back in time, I will buy another Midea. It is very quiet. Many people like the Midea. The GE is not quiet as many people said. Yes, it is quiet but you have to select the mode that does not give much nice cold air. The reason the ac is giving cold air is because the compressor. When the compressor works, it give cold air but it is also very noisy. So, by selecting "quiet mode' on GE, you get cold air but very minimal. That is because the compressor shut down or run slow, it is not noisy. If you want cold air, it is noisy as other ac and vibration as well. The midea is different. They somehow design their compressor not very noisy but still giving cold air. If I have to buy another ac, Midea U-shape 12,000 BTU is the best. The only thing I complain about the Midea is its remote control. If you can live without the remote, the ac is a great unit to buy. The remote does not receive the command or not very sensitive. For example, you hit cool, it either not do anything to the unit or it change to something else. You can just approach the unit to turn to your desire setting on the unit.
this is honestly something essential we need this time of year, grandma almost suffered a heat stroke last year with temperatures above the 90s almost 105 or 107 I think and my friends mom even died from heat stroke last year, if they had this, it would've prevented alot of suffering, much love to you for having a wide spectrum of products not just apple or Samsungs latest
I’m sorry that happened to your grandma and your friends mom. That’s really sad and unfortunate.. I don’t think people realize how important these window units are even if you have a good central unit. Sometimes units go out and it’s always good to have a backup. Plus it can save money on electric bills by choosing to cool one room a much lower temp vs the entire house.
@@OT4Tech thank you for the kind words, you're right you don't realize how much you need it until its too late. and at that point it was really hard to find one at a solid price, amazon was shipping 3 weeks out, and right now we have a window one for grandma's room as the weather approaches, we have no worries. had I seen this one first, I'd probably go for this one but our uncle gifted us one for grandma. definitely was a close call! grateful each day for this.
excellent review...excellent product design
Gotta say, your the ONLY one that has mentioned and covered maintenance on this unit....Super helpful when making a decision on an AC units similar to this (Midea and Soleus come to mind)
I was looking into getting this unit just because it works with Google n' Alexa, but since watching your coverage on the unit and its features, I am certain this will be in my window by next week! Great vid. Thanks!
Have you had to drain the condensation from the inside plug due to humidity. One problem I have read about with the Soleus unit, which is a similar design, indicates that it has to be drained or else a code will appear.
😄 I have purchased one and I love it it's so quiet isn't hard to install I would recommend it.
Just ordered one myself. Fingers crossed
Yes and great video
Thank you for this review. Can this unit be taken apart from the outside. Asking for security concerns.
Although I haven't lived in a home that didn't have an HVAC system in a while, it's pretty cool to see that these window units are much better than they were years ago. It definitely is nice being able to have a functional window even with the unit installed. I also like how this unit is easy to clean and replace the filter & water filter.
Even in those old windows ac, they still blew really cold air
I will be purchasing very soon. Thanks for a very in-depth review. 👍🏾
nice design. I have the left/right sliding windows instead of the up/down windows. How can I have a clean looking as well as a safe ( from intruder) installation. Too bad these window a/c's can't have the option to install sideways. thx
Would you make a video on the “normal” pinging noise caused by the water on the outside of the home?
How easy or hard in your opinion it would be to install it only for emergencies? I would only use it when I’m running my house on the generator.
Interesting. I don’t seem to find any reviews for 2023 on the Midea U shaped window, air conditioner, or this particular one you’re showing in the video!
How about help on how to reset the filter light because holding it down doesnt appear to be working
Would be nice, but can't use it since the radiator is right under the window. I would need an AC that goes the other way (like the Midea U) to stay clear of the heater.
This seems like a really nice AC unit! I know that GE Has a few models that support HomeKit, but does this one work with HomeKit or Siri shortcuts?
I don’t think it supports HomeKit however Siri shortcuts can be created and it does support IFTTT.
Does anyone know how to put a window AC in a window that open in and back with a handle? Are the any sealing kits or methods for this?
In either the eco or dry mode does it turn the fan off immediately at the same time as the compressor? This is the best way to prevent high humidity and mold, but usually only LG brand does this.
For the flex depth that only goes to 13.75 thick wall, what about a 16” wall depth? Can you essentially drill and make new holes for the screws to go into the preset self locking screw set
Very helpful video. I hoped you could do a comparison this GE clearview and the Midea U.
I like that the GE sits over the sill. You won't need a support out the window.
The Midea does its split across the top. I think there's an AC Support bracket inside its box. You pull the window down between its split.
Does the GE clear view provide hardware to assist locking the window?
Just an inverted Midea U. The downside here is you have to clear your window sill first then the panel comes in front of that. Then you might have breathing problems if you have something in front of the unit. Also that channel between the outside and inside is VERY large. It's about as intrusive as a standard window unit. It might be quiet, but the upward U designs are better imo.
You can't really open the window with the Midea U units as far as I know. It's possible, but you can't raise the window any higher than the "U" section of the unit so it doesn't fall out the window.
@@RadioactiveLobster The Midea U is actually secured to the window sills so yes the window can actually be raised higher than the U. I think both the GE Profile Clearview and the Midea U are very well designed. The GE May have issues if you have furniture directly below / in front of your window. But if not, the GE offers a little more clear view through the window.

@@christoffesedao3579 Thanks for that info. I remember seeing a video ages ago and that person just had it sandwiched in the window, was not using the bracket like in the video you linked.
There is a second air filter in the middle back accessed on the left side.
What is the BLACK space underneath? It appears to be sitting higher than it needs to be.
Can you use this model in a sliding vertical window where the window slides from side to side,,,is the adjustment of the saddle accommodate a sliding window
Can this unit be used on second floor window
Is it quiet enough to record voiceover within the same room while A/C is on?
I bought one of these for my son's room in his fraternity house.
Can someone tell me how to connect to the wifi. I turned the unit on, held the button and no light flashes.
There are many dehumidifiers with built in condensate pumps that fail after around a year. I'm worried the same thing might happen with the built in pump in these.
How do you connect to Wi-Fi I have the same AC
What is the depth of the outer section?
Ive had this AC on for 5 hours and its only been blowing hot air on high fan and Cool 64
some people complained very loud noise outside the window. Is it true?
Can this be left for winter?
You didn't show the second air filter on the left side that I saw in the owners manual.
How much is it please!! Thanks
I posted question tha then I was trying to google other brands and GE and another brand Soleus don’t have good reviews!!!
Is there another brand that anyone knows about please my elderly friend needs one. Please anyone can give your opinion on them? Thanks
¿Que es runa luz que prende y apaga de lado?
I’ve had a bad experience with the AC units that have vents that point up instead of out into the room.
how long is the electrical cord
Just a thought: Might this generate condensate in a location that would run down the plug into the outlet? I work in electrical, and not having a drip loop does raise a bit of alarm for me. Yes it looks cleaner the way you've installed, but consider mitigating that potential hazard.
Other than that nitpick, great video. You've got me sold!
The drippy part is already outside...
@@chrismurphy7199 if you watch the video, you'll see him show a drain on the interior of the unit as well
@@chrismurphy7199 timestamp around 10:30 when describing maintenance
Add a GFCI outlet or breaker
What about condensation drainage? I tried the Midea U shaped and water drainage was absolutely awful and destroyed it. I did everything I could to increase the angle on it too, does this unit have drainage issues from the condenser?
Yes it does
If you watched the whole video he showed where you drain the water and pull the water filter out to clean it
I have bought two of these units and had to return because wifi is not working. The wifi light never blinks to connect to the app to be able to use the smart features which is a main reason I bought this ac. I called tech support and they referred me to the warranty phone line who says you have to return to store. So I have had to install this unit twice just to have Uninstall and return to store which is not fun. Having to carry a heavy appliance up and down stairs and back to the store. I believe there is a defect.
Same happened to me, I just disconnected power, connected it again and immediately held the wifi while it was lit up, and it started blinking and it worked
You are over complicating the process… you have to let it go through its diagnosis process and then the WiFi works extremely well… have a little patience next time
Can an air filter (like HEPA filter) be added to the existing filter, to collect pollen, etc?
No, those wouldn't fit.
I just bought and installed the Midea U-shaped ac
What about the dry mode? Live in Texas and humid is a issue.
@@andybam9000Dry mode runs the unit on low speed as it still cools the room.
Will this unit stay on even if it hits the temperature it’s set to? We have a portable air conditioner since it’s for a second floor but it’s always turning off and on and wakes us up at night. This design could work for us but we just need it to stay ok all night.
5000 btu units are great for that. They are loud regardless and you can crank them and not freeze.
Volvimos al principio back to past.
I have a 1951 brick and block home, and my wall thickness is 13.5", meaning this is the only line of saddle ACs that accommodates my architecture. But like virtually all window ACs they assume you have only small windows, typically 36" (duh), though this one will grudgingly allow installation into 40" wide windows. My windows are 41.5". Since this is an arbitrary limitation, you'd think the companies would spend the extra fifty cents to bring in more customers. Like everyone in this situation, I'll probably just cram a block in there to fix this oversight. As far as the supposed advantage of being able to operate the window, when the sash is raised on installation, it's a struggle to keep nature out - stinkbugs, ladybugs, spiders - and when you do get the foam barriers in place I can't see anyone disturbing them. If you are a neatnik or have loads of money, perhaps you could have a new, shorter sash fabricated by your window manufacturer. This way the bugs would stay out, the sash lock would still work, and it wouldn't be ugly. You could then truly open the window to let in the pollen in the springtime.
Can you send me a video how to replace the air filter. I’m having trouble putting it back on. Please help
You just literally do what you did to take it out, in reverse…
I wish that the screws that you take out to adjust the depth, were not on the outside of the window, but in the inside of the window! Making it more Theft proof!
Most of the weight is sitting right on that vinyl/plastic piece of window seal! Now if you have a wood or metal, not so bad. I would probably get some type of like a 2 x 4 paint it to match the window seal get the right height and slide it between that little space so it has more area to sit on rather than a small little piece of vinyl, calling the entire weight of the center of that unit.!!
I do like the fact that where the louvers are that blow, the air, cool air back into the room that there’s a space between them and the actual window, allowing the air to go up or straight out and not up behind your blinds or your curtains you may have! With the old fashion, regular air conditioners, these little louver placements are so close to the window that you can’t even bring your window shade down, without having the air blowing behind the actual window, shade or curtain.😊
I’m going to decide between the upside down
(n.), which is basically what this is and the other type of ( U )shape where you slide the window down into the unit.😊
👍👍👍 I do not want to use Wi-Fi and app! I don’t have a Wi-Fi set up and I don’t download apps! I just want the air conditioner with all of the remote control and manual settings👍👍👍
I can open it up and clean it out every other day. I don’t need to be alerted about a filter clean or a timer shut off, etc.. I like to manage it on my own not have other issues trying to manage my unit.😮😊
Did you make a purchase and install? Which way did you go and how is it going so far?
You're the only other comment so far, as I read down through them, that noticed the window sill issue. Yeah, there is a seal there that's a double lip, probably one inch height creating that channel where he placed the black foam. I thought, oooo this thing weighs 70lbs, better put a shim there, like some sort of wood that meets or slightly exceeds that lip edge so the AC weight doesn't damage it. I'm looking at the Midea too. There's also a Danby brand U shape Window AC that I'm looking at. Not sure what to get. The standard Window AC's are often no more than 38 to 40 pounds for a 6000 BTU. I don't need a window AC to fully cool a room. It just needs to supplement the central air that is doing most of the cooling. Im not sure what to get for this purpose. I like these U shape AC's that let you close that window over most of the unit for sound reduction and it keeps bugs and everything else out. I guess with a Window unit, put a screen on the unit itself? Perhaps put a shade over the AC unit in the deep depths of Summer? Let's just bring back Winter.
I have a low profile window with a floor unit right now. I wonder if this could fit through a 12" tall opening and clear up some floor space.
The listing on Home Depot's website says that you need a minimum of 13". BUT, if you're able to remove the sash, install the unit, and then put the sash back on, you could just do that. I'm going to have to do the same thing myself, because mine only open to about 11".
@@Shadybiz1 I went and looked at my window and remembered it is a fold in for easy cleaning. If I fold them both and push them up, I think I can clear the 13" easily.
@@DigitalChadLife Very nice, enjoy the cool air!
I have 11 inches too. How did that work out? Were you able to remove the sash, install the unit, and replace the sash? Any issues with noise from water splash sounds from the outside portion of the unit?@@Shadybiz1
@@Perly53 I was indeed able to remove the sash and pop it back on! No issues with outside noise; it's a pretty quiet unit overall.
Sup Mister Casey and everyone definitely could use something like that here thanks so much
You bet! It's such a good unit!
So, this is a standard AC unit? It's not a variable speed compressor / inverter?
If it isn't that is a big premium to pay for a window AC's neat form factor. Seems like the Midea U might be better?
Correct it is not an inverter. Midea is much better. The GE is just a standard old AC unit with a flashy expensive shape that requires it to be drained manually.
@@oldtc3615 Ouch. We ended up getting the LG Dual Inverter....happy with it.
@@MyGoogleRUclips Good for you. I got my Midea a few years ago preordered when it was just a concept to support. Liked it so much I thought about getting the LG just to compare it but I ended up getting a 2nd Midea. The GE is actually made by Haier and no doubt it could be awesome if they would have used modern tech and installed a small pump so the water could still drain outside like any other unit does. Inverters make a huge difference.
@@oldtc3615Thank you. Another reason to buy the Midea. I decided on it after watching two videos by "The Fixer".
@@MyGoogleRUclips Do you have any link to thiat LG Dual Inverter? Does it look like the Midea?
I wish there were a version for left-right slider windows. I don't know how I could make this work for my window.
Look online some companies make a window bracket that fits ontop of this unit so you can still slide your window left to right or even just open the window bracket up and down like a normal window
I am ordering one for a sliding window and I intend to get a 2x2 and put it up vertically in the window frame and screw this to it. I'll then get a piece of thick plywood (maybe even glue some drywall to it for sound) and put it over this unit to fill in the vertical hole. Then I can still slide the window up to the 2x2 or open it for ventilation. Obviously this won't work for everyone and I can get away with plywood over the opening since we always have blinds down anyway and don't need the visibility.
I took the windows out completely and retrofit with plexiglass works awesome
Possible problem of the "n" shape instead of the "U" shape is the water pump.
There are reports that the water that collects at the bottom of the condenser (outside) housing is purposeful so that it splashes onto the condenser coil, cooling it for better efficiency. And with that, you can hear the splashing, which some say is loud and annoying. In addition, the standing water can be a breeding environment for mosquitos. What have you heard, or GE said regarding this? Thanks.
I have the 14,000 btu and you get the water on really humid days. Otherwise, water still collects in the pan just not as noticeable.
Most modern window AC's are designed for the fan to spray water around when it pools at the bottom.
You have to keep up with cleaning or the mold and mildew buildup in the pan. The smell starts to come in the house. That's with any AC.
@grazz7865 is the 14,000 BTU good like is it powerful and would your recommend it to cool a entire room down?
@@xtheslump 14K is going to cool a large room. Look at your square feet and don't get one too powerful. It will cool the room too quickly and not properly reduce the humidity.
What do I do if my window is longer than usual?
They have foam blocks to fill in the excess area.
It looks to me that the "filter" is a condensate drain. I can't imagine draining this.... twice a day? Three times a day?
There is a little pump that automatically pumps any condensation that accumulates to the outside where it helps cool the exterior heat exchanger.
I have an old house with thick walls. Will the 12000 btu version fit a wall/sill that’s just under 18”? Can’t find information anywhere.
no, it fits 20" and above. I'm sure you probably know this by now but, yah
@@ianglass9426he was speaking of thickness of the walls, not width of the window, and no it won’t work because it only works on a thickness of just under 14”

The width on my window is 52 inches long. Do you think this unit will work for the size of my window.
Unfortunately, the max width supported is 40 inches.
You can probably creatively use this anyways. Use some wood panels on the sides to block the open space, then use the foam around the unit. That's an idea. I've seen this done.
I can see drainage problems from the evaporator on that design. No way it can run out the back.
It has a pump, says so on the product page.
@@j777 sure would not want it then
@@pl747 I understand, extra point of failure. Looks like there's even a water filter to maintain.
Should the black foam extend across the entire window sill?
No just the length of the unit but you can buy extra foam if your concerned
I like the simplicity of the GE profile over the Midea. But, there are pros and cons on both. If you have a low window, Midea is a better option.
In my case, I have two reasons why I'm buying the Midea over GE.
I have a low window.
There's a huge price difference.
Costco Midea inverter 12,000 BTU 379.00
Home Depot and Amazon GE inverter 12,000 BTU 579.00
Costco Midea inverter 8,000 BTU 319.00
Home Depot and Amazon GE none inverter 6,000 BTU 379.00😊
Some things are more expensive because they are worth it… don’t be so cheap because in life sometimes you really do get what you pay for
@@hazedidit
Midea is the same price as GE elsewhere. Costco only carries Midea, LG, and Hisense at low low prices.
Costco just lowered the price on the Midea 12,000 BTU to 279. Midea was the first to come up with the window mount. Midea is also an expert in inverter technology more than GE. GE is a copycat to Midea.
Bad experience with GE AC units. Don't know if I want to try this crap.
why is everyone so lucky with their windows closing top to bottom? Mine is left-to-right, so it's more complicated to install any window AC.
Saaaame. I have this unit and I have cardboard and tape in my window right now 😆 because I need to improvise with corrugated plastic, white ducttape and a piece of insulation and I have to wait for all of that to be delivered. WHY ARE THERE NO KITS FOR VERTICAL OPENING WINDOWS??
In the east of US we have mostly double hung.
Need as a heat source
lol that was fast.
Anyways, looked up the CEER of the GE Profile Clearview. It's spec'd at 11.4. So in operation, 6100BTU/11.4 = 535W.
The Midea is spec'd at 15. 8000BTU/15=533W.
In other words, the Midea is significantly more efficient.
It's also a bastard to fully clean, but then again since you didn't fully clean this unit either, I guess we ain't talking about that.
The Midea is also considerably louder and is known to be a very poorly made product that doesn’t hold up… you get what you pay for
@@hazedidit GE specs the Clearview at 41db, and Midea specs the U-shaped air conditioner at 42db. Given the "considerably" worse efficiency, I'd say that's a wash because to get comparable cooling you will have to crank up the Clearview.
Both units put the compressor fans/motors on the outside, which explains why their noise profile is so similar. The noisy stuff is literally outside the window. All you're really hearing is the inside blower in both cases. So saying one is "considerably" louder kind of calls into question your knowledge level.
Midea makes non-u-shaped units and maybe that's what you're confusing all this with.
My Midea is coming up on 4 years now and has seen use probably like 8 months each year.
It still works great; it's just really painful to actually clean.
What's your cleaning experience with the GE Clearview?
@@GoatZilla water and a mild detergent for the two filters and remove the water plug then the water filter and catch the water and remove it about every 250 hours of run time (would be longer but I live in a very high humidity area)
@@hazedidit lol that's right I forgot the Clearview needs an active pump to move the water from the inside to the outside.
So uh... you haven't cleaned your squirrel cage? Or either coils?
Sounds like you've only owned your unit for maybe 1 year or so.
@@GoatZilla no I haven’t as I hasn’t been necessary… it may become necessary at some point but lack of exposure to grass from grass cutting, tall plants or flowers around, low to no dust area more than likely will situationly allow it to be fine without extra maintenance
So I bought this air conditioner and I am very disappointed to be honest. For a whopping price of 480$ the advertised “quiet” is not quiet at all. I’ll admit day 1 and 2 it was kinda quiet but then it progressively got louder and louder. Perhaps I have a faulty system, or it just sucks lol. It cools your room down exceptionally well. But I bought this near 500$ unit for exceptional cooling and for peace and quiet. Of course I didn’t expect it to be quiet quiet but it’s louder then my other air conditioner and this one is lower btu/square feet. Idk
You should have bought the midea u shaped AC. Better and cheaper. And quieter. And more energy efficient.
@@originsmaster8140 What does "better" mean. Also, this unit uses 200 watts LESS in power consuption. Let's also consider the Midea is 8,100 BTU's.
yours sounds defective. If you put it on 'quiet' mode it's pretty quiet.
@@TheYankmchain The GE has a 11.4 CEER rating the same as my cheap $120 LG unit and the Midea has a much more efficient rating of 15. The GE usus old tech compressor that turns off or on and runs at the 60 hz hum that everybody knows, just packaged in a new shape. The Midea uses inverter technology. This allows it to run the compressor at only speeds required for demand and it starts slowly so you don't even notice it kick on or off. Much of the time you only can hear the wind and not the compressor even when the compressor is running. The water also can't drain out automatically of the GE so it shuts off. Hardly nobody makes them that way for that reason, water can't flow uphill. I wonder how long it will take until dirt build up will cause that sensor to fail? Being able to open the window is also not much of a feature because they are not mentioning that between the upper and lower window pains you need that to be sealed with foam to stop air leakage and bugs out. Yeah you take take the foam out and put it back in to operate the window but it's a hassle. The Midea tech wise is much more advanced and the GE just has a gimmick shape with drainage flaws and no doubt a high profit piece for GE.
@@oldtc3615 DAMN YOIU TOLD HIM OFF WITH FACTS!!
I think you should have shown the side view of the unit.
I had one, nice and quiet. The quality is bad, lots of rusting on the outside cover, poor wifi, pump thats pumps water outside is loud in a bedroom. Love the looks vers the Midea but 2 months out of Warranty it failed. My Midea has been flawless after 2 years and is a lot more efficient.
do they make this in 220V?
I wanted to actually HEAR it running at various speeds.
Can I take this AC apart and separate it in two pieces? My window only opens to approximately 12 inches high and I can’t install it any other way
No, because there are refrigerant lines going between the two halves that are permanently sealed.
Listening at 75% playback speed is about right.
👍🏾👍🏾👌🏾
It weighs a good 70 pounds. Be careful what kind of window you put this massive thing in. This video should have shown exactly how this sits. I see a vinyl(?) window lip where he placed the black foam. Don't you require a shim to take the weight off of that window sill lip??? I do like the design. It's so much more safe and stable once it's in place. It's not like it's going to slip off and fall.
The problem with quiet units is hat they don't move the same volume of air. This can lea to other complications Uch as the unit freezing up.
It’s quieter because the loud and hot part of this unit is outside the closed window. It moves as much air as any other window AC
I can’t even use it because it’s going to be in the way of my bed
"The GE Profile Clearview is the Best Window AC You Can Buy!" LOL no, not even close.
naw Its midea u shaped ac
you can open the window when it is in
Yo people. BEWARE GE is not GE ! They were bought out years ago by Haier, a chinese company that makes lots of disposable products. If you read the manual, no parts are available at all for service. Check youtube for thousands of crappy GE products that barely last 2 years. That said this unit is a very cool design, but let's see if it lasts over a year
I had mine for 5 days and I have nothing but problems. Very unhappy
Like what
Sounds like you should return it instead of bitching about it on RUclips
I liked everything about the review except the made up term "maintenancing".
😂Same! Nice video, just lacking in the words "maintain" and "maintaining"
Thanks, you must be a sixth grade English teacher. thank you for your grammar policing. I hope you feel better about yourself. You’re so smart.
Sleek??? Hahahaha
You flipped your outlet to the correct orientation, not upside down.
Not sure if you’re located in the US or not but outlets are installed in the previous orientation in all modern homes.
@@OT4Tech Yes, because people like that it looks like a face, but it's wrong.
The ground is meant to be at the top. If a plug comes loose and a piece of conductive material falls onto the exposed prongs, the ground will deflect the material one way or the other, grounding out the issue. If the live and neutral are at the top and conductive debris falls, it completes the circuit and can cause fires. Not sure why people always think the "Face," orientation is correct.
I have spit ac
Nothing about how quiet or noisy it is.🤷♂
There is literally a chapter that says sound and noise test lol
Anything for windows like they have literally every-fucking-where in the rest of the world? That open sideways and not up and down???
Great video, but for future reference, don’t actually say ALEXA out loud because you trigger things for anyone watching… instead mute the video when you say ALEXA and just type it on the screen for reference to what you are doing
He touts the window can be opened with the air conditioner installed, while glossing over the fact that there is no screen to keep out the insects and bugs.
I have a screen installed on mine. Nowhere in the instructions does it say to remove the screen. I open my window on cooler breezy days and the screen stays right in place. Not sure what you’re on about fella.😂
Not a good review, superficial at best. Never dug into the specifics of the mechanics of the unit.
I have the Midea B08677DCKN it’s about $100 cheaper and has more features but I think it’s also better overall.
That things is friggin massive. 6100but for that?? should be 12 or 15,000btu for that size...
