How do you keep cool in this Summer heat? Let me know, and we'll #geekout over it!
Gracias Amigo. Very good explanation, l will buy it 👍
Could y'all know post a video where we can hear that unit actually running without people talking over it I would like to hear it running from the distance of 2 ft and 4 ft
How does this compare to the Midea?
Get the Midea. The quality is like comparing a Lexus to Chevy. I love my Midea but GE air conditioners have a very common problem where the circuit boards get corrosion in less than 2 years just flash 88 and beep and won't run or short cycle and quickly burn up.
what's the outside condenser measurements?
Thanks for the video.
Can the front filter be removed/installed by sliding it in/out from the either the left or right side of the unit? In the video, you demo'd sliding it in/out the right side but could it also be slid in/out from the left side? I ask because the window I have is just a few inches from a wall on the right side of the window so no way to access this particular filter if it is only accessible from the right side.
Hello?. I’d like to know as well
The wifi feature does not work. Ive tried everything and light does not blink.. Help
Can the outer outside part of the ac slide out completely and fall? I’m just wondering how secure it is?
It is one unit (I.E. it is NOT designed to be separated). The screws hold the AC in place also. I imagine if one used a significant amount of force the unit could be broken into 2 parts. . . but it will not just slide apart.
¿Por qué prende y apaga una luz al lado del filtro?
how do you get the drain plug out it's only got a tiny nib do I use needle nose pliers
Really don't remember
great video - where does the condensate go?
The condensate gets splashed onto the coils and is used to cool off the exterior coils increasing efficiency drastically.
If it gets oversaturated it will just start tripping through a little drain port on the side exterior, but it has to be 100% humidity continuously for a while in your room for it to start doing that, like if you put it in the bathroom while you're taking a hot steamy shower for example. Otherwise it just gets basically boiled off
I have one of these, I installed it but we're not allowed to have window AC units.
Phuck em....Stay cool 😎
@@miller7759 I got fined $2700 by the HOA :(
Would love to know which AC components are in the two separate compartments of the unit. I assume the compressor and condenser/fan are on the outside and the evaporator and evaporator fan are on the inside. If this were the case, I would believe that this is a quiet AC since the compressor is on the outside and compressors are noise that interferes with peacefulness the most! @geekazine, do you know the anatomy of this AC unit?
You answered your own question.
@@koshnaranek2317 I didn't answer it with absolute confidence. I was asking you to confirm my assumption. I think you just did. Thank you!
•Need heat/cool.
•One that heats even at freezing.
•Inverter
• No draining required 💦
There are units that do this, but this GE is only for AC.
is it loud outside ?
Need to drill hole to let water out?
Only the water splashing on the coils really. But that is a good thing tho it helps with efficiency of the condenser/ compressor.
Will an HVAC company install it for under 500 dollars? Do you have to screw holes into the vinyl and ruin the window?
Any handyman could put in.
Also look at Midea U
Google saddle window air conditioners. They simply just drop in. No professional installer needed. Btw the Midea brand is way better than GE.
Mine failed after 14 months.
same
10 minute rule.
Most videos about this unit are apparently sponsored, which explains their lack of depth.
Why do these AC install videos rarely show the window base? What did you plunk this weighty unit upon? Plenty of windows have a narrow thin lip seal. Dont you need shims to support the AC unit?
I like that this thing sits more secure over the window base.
Rewatched again. Your window base looks flat. Your install is too easy. A lot of windows aren't that easy for an AC install.
these suck dont buy! ALL have issues
Sorry you didn't like your experience. What didn't work for you?
great video - where does the condensate go?
It will be automatically pumped out from the indoor unit water tray to the outdoor base pan.
I have one. very decent and super quiet
This is what I’ve been wondering. Any issues with leaks in the house?
