Great review
Thank you!
Thank you Jessie Sanchez for the video and relaxing music
No problem! I'm glad I could help.
Thank you!
No problem!
I was going to go with the Media A/C but could not get a straight answer from them about bracket fitting older window frame. After watching others and your video on the GE unit, I’m convinced GE is better fit installation. And better unit.
I'm glad this video could help out! I moved to a new house after this video was published and it's doing great at the new place. I was able to adapt it to the window here w/ out any issues.
Great review, thanks for sharing your experiences with it. Did you notice a huge increase in your electric bill? Thanks
Thank you! Maybe 10$ more per month than my regular window AC.
Nice. I like the music while you narrate.
Much appreciated, glad you liked it!
My inside drain would fill up prompting an error code. I removed the cap and filter and hung a small pale to collect the condensation.
Oh wow, mine has been running solid so far. I'm glad that's working out for you.
@@UltratecJS I believe there is a pump that pumps the condensate outside but seems to fail on a lot of these units.
@@jimd5983 Thanks for the heads up.
@@jimd5983 Yup mine just failed but thanks to your comment i know what happened.
Are the display lights supposed to stay on while the unit is running. Mine go out after about 10 or 15 seconds
@@pjjammz Mine also go out after a few seconds, which I personally like.
@@UltratecJS Ok thanks, I guess that's normal. Thanks for the reply!
Have you noticed any difference with your electric bill versus your old one and what size is this unit is it the 8,000?
8,300 BTU and bill went up a few dollars but nothing crazy than the normal.
I've let my 8300 BTU unit run for about 3 hours at a time and It has used only between 0.5 to 1 kWh. You can check your electric bill and see how much a kWh costs, which could be anywhere from 12 to 60 cents. So, if you pay 20 cents for a kWh and use it for 6 hours a day then that might be as much as 2kWh for 30 days. So (20 cents) X (2 kWh) X (30 days) = $12.00
@@RickFishing Great explanation.
What is the outside condenser measurements
So what’s the measurements?
What was the BTU rating of the unit you installed?
This one is 8,300 BTU.
Can you make tutorial on cleaning the filter?
It's very straightforward, you just remove the plastic cover on the front and you can remove the filter for cleaning.
There is a second filter located on the left side where the power cord is.
@@koshnaranek2317 Thank you, I definitely have missed this one.
@@UltratecJS would be worth a video on cleaning “filters” because there are none on RUclips.
I'm considering purchasing two of these units so I can open my windows when the air conditioners aren't necessary. Do you think I would be able to leave these in the window year round in the Northeast if I covered the outside? One of my least favorite things is getting someone to install and uninstall the units at the beginning and end of the season. Great video, although I noticed you started after you put the foam support on the outside of the window. I'm assuming you just center that and it has it's own tape? Nice music. It wasn't distracting while you spoke and was relaxing.
Thank you I'm glad you liked the video!
I think you can get away with leaving it up the whole year. This definitely seals a lot better than the regular Window AC's. The black foam under the A/C and the white one on the edges and an additional lighter black sponge type seals everything real tight. The foam support I put was under the AC unit. I don't remember if it brings tape but I don't think it does, I think it just rests without moving because of the weight of the unit. Specially if you're going to cover the outside I would give it a try. I might do the same this year, I moved to a new house and I don't want to take it up and down too.
Something cool I'm enjoying with this A/C is that on cooler nights and when still using the A/C it stops pushing out cool air and you save tons of energy. The older generations would still try to push cool air and waste energy. If that makes any sense.
This is how it looks from outside if it helps. photos.app.goo.gl/4FaFgJfDNPS4gx1U8
If you are in the south where it doesn't get super cold you can leave it in year round. If central or north there are covers you can put on the outside of unit.
Am I correct, that the inside portion collects water that has to be manually emptied???? please say it isn't so. ty
@@billnipp2309 it pushes water outside automatically. It does have a drain on the front side but in the two years I've had it, it only releases a few drops when I checked it a few weeks back. So it's something you don't really have to worry about.
@@UltratecJS mine is filling up with water and I've emptied it twice in one week.
@@billnipp2309 You should check that your unit is level sideways and front to back.
@@UltratecJS funny you say that. the installation instructions say to level the unit front to back. Yet in the troubleshooting section, it says to tilt the unit back slightly to promote proper draining. so I dont know what to believe.
@@billnipp2309This is from the manual: " Using a level, check that the unit
is level front to back and side to side. Once level
and secure, reach back through the window and
tighten the Locking Nut on the Adjustable Supports
to secure everything in place."
How does it drain?
@@donie5780 The water from a GE Profile Clearview window air conditioner is collected in the indoor section and then pumped to the outdoor section, where it drains out or evaporates. The indoor side collects water as the air conditioner removes moisture from the air.
Is it cold enough? I heard it is loud outside.
It handled my big living room no problem but my previous old style version AC was a little cooler
It can be a bit loud with the water in the pan splashing onto the fan but that is good for the coils actually. I noticed on mine when the compressor is off (not cooling) the rear of unit is silent while inside the fan is on and blowing. Took me a minute to realize that these units have 2 fans one inside one outside.
Where does the water go?
There is a drain plug in the inside that should be drained once a season.
i've heard of mildew issues with this device, have you seen that being an issue?
@@jwspiker No issues here.
I could probably see that happening if it's not installed / leveled properly and there's somehow water leaking inside.
How many watts per hour does it consume?
The Energy Guide label says $70 estimated yearly cost and it has a Combined Energy Efficiency ratio of 11.4. The estimated energy cost is based on a national average electricity cost of 13 cents per kWh and a season use of 8 hours a day over a 3 month period.
@@UltratecJS Thank you,
Do they have heat?
No it does not have heat.
Sometimes you envy American sliding windows.
For a European window (opening like a door) it is difficult to come up with something similar, only a gateway for a mobile air conditioner pipe.
I know the pain, when we are in Mexico we have the same problem.
I dont like that the air facing up. So i ended up getting costway.
Is that one any good?
Good stuff. A suggestion: please do not use any music while you are narrating. It is distracting. Yes, I can hear you, but the music just gets in the way. Thanks.
Okay thanks for the suggestion and the support.
A lot of youtubers do that, indeed it's very distracting and irritating.
@@KlausMingo thanks for the feedback, I have fixed that on my latest videos.
I can comprehend better with no music.
@@UltratecJSthank you for fixing it sir
“ you should probably put the ugly side…. Never mind…..🤣🤣 I see you too have that inside outside voice😅
Lmao 🤣 good catch
Only cools to 64 but not really....66bon the thermostat..returning

Thank you, vote for Pedro.
I appreciate the speed. Most instructional videos have fast talkers, and I have to reduce to 75% playback speed.
@@HardRockMaster7577I'm glad you like the speed used 🫡.
