I always bought the name brands. I've had LG, AMANA, FRIGIDAIRE AND MORE. They all lasts a couple of years. 5 years ago I bought a brand called OCEAN BREEZE at my local supermarket. It's an 8000 btu unit, and outperforms all the others I've ever had. Made in China, but made well.
The design changes are what really interest me the most. Not "losing" a window with the saddle design is amazing, and being able to essentially close the window with the U design sounds like it does wonders for reducing noise and air leakage. THAT'S the kind of innovation I can get behind
I have central air but, still want MORE AC in one particular room. I just have a bit of hesitation installing an AC in a vinyl window, but plan to do so anyways. I kind of have an idea of maybe running a mini-split into this room if something exists without that massive wall unit? Why can't I have something like central air that uses the existing floor register to have this room climate controlled entirely on it's own with an AC sitting just outside? In the meantime, if a window AC can do the trick, I will be so happy. Why on earth would you want the AC temp at 5:13 to increase temperature while you sleep? That is absolutely wrong. Every sleep expert will tell you that a cooler room assists better sleep, not a warmer room.

Is there a u-shaped window for a sliding window? Inverter?
I meant u-shaped a.c.
@@yixnorb5971 there may be.. midea states theirs is. Not for slider windows but people Have adapted them to work... if ur slider gap is slightly over 22", I dont see why this couldnt be adapted to the window...you can still use the support bracket but would have to fabricate something to fill in the missing top window that usually slides down.
What about maintenance & potential mold issues in the ACs? Which ones have easier cleaning & maintenance?
the mideas are quiet for sure but there are Many reports of mold issues where it grows on the spinning fan and is hard or impossible to clean.. this should be visible to owners looking in thru the front vent at the fan cage.. whether this has been resolved in 2024 is unknown..
@@skip741x3it has not been. I see the black spots and sludge. Compressor went out. Midea will admit these are faults but tell you there is no plan to change this. Not a great company
