Thank you so much for this tutorial. Made everything so easy. And your tip about taking the journals to the local print shop to be drilled was GENIUS! I just dropped off 26 books and held my breath when the clerk was calculating the cost. WAIT FOR IT...$8.00 for 26 books! I couldn't believe my ears! So thank you for that invaluable tip!
Hi! I just saw your beautiful journals. Hubby was enthralled and I had to pause your video so he could read the book as you were flipping through. Now I’m on my search for some of these little golden books, especially Santa’s Surprise Book-Or the book that had the little mice.
I’m going to make him his very own junk journal. Mind you, he’s 67 years old and he has all the whimsy of a youngster.
Thank you so much for sharing your art.
Blessings.
That’s so sweet!!!!! Makes me smile! ❤️❤️❤️
I can’t tell you how much I love this comment!
I know this is almost 3 years old but, you are a very good teacher! Excellent job and beautiful!
Thank you so much!
These are so fun! I like your simple approach to these. Not everyone likes those 'junkier' messier types. I like how you kept the book and story intact. I really enjoy your videos and ideas. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I agree 100%! I‘m not a fan of the lace and ribbons you typically see in junk journals, so this cleaner look is perfect. They seem a lot more practical for everyday journaling.
Agreed. I have watched lots of videos but the bulky messy ones are not my type. I like the clean looking ones. Not stuff hanging out all over. Lol. I just wish the gold part can be kept. I don’t see a video of anyone keeping the gold binding in it which is a huge part of the book.
Oh, my goodness! When I saw Santa sampling Mrs. Claus’ cooking I had to stop the video temporarily just to comment. A favorite Christmas family recipe would be the perfect companion page.
Great idea!
That's actually a Great idea!!!!
Or a blank recipe card
What an xamazing video Amber! I can’t thank you enough! What an awesome gift for my family for me to take the golden books of my special needs son who passed away two years ago and give them something to cherish for the rest of their lives. You are totally AWESOME!!! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!❤️❤️❤️
I luv this re use of kids story books, it’s really special
Thank YOU for being so sweet as to share such beautiful work with us!😊
This brings me to tears, my childhood memories, I just started paper crafting ,maybe one day I could make one, I appreciate your kindness to share with me...have a Beautiful Evening!!
Love this your idea. I watched another crafter in 2023, who lives in a large city, make these Little Golden Book Journals and, of course, hers was much different. They would simply gorgeous. It was so complicated and complex to make these journals that I only watched half to it. Throughout the video, I thought,, my goodness, I don't know if I really have time to follow that idea or even make them. I believe she sold them for $25.00 to 30.00. Regrettably, no one living in my area would pay that much for them.
Love this idea...so cute. I have lots of LGB from when my daughter was growing up. All her kids had there turn with them also. Maybe I could do one book for each grandchild...to match their personalities. TFS
So cute. Love these. So glad you included all the page.
I love these!! I am going to go through all of my golden books when I get home!! It was really like a jump back in time because i am old enough that I think I had most of these books when I was kid!!
Those are adorable, and I love that you preserve the original book!
This is wonderful. Much easier than some other techniques. Thank you for sharing with us.
I just dug out my kids LGB’’s. Their books are about 34 yrs old. I was a19 yr old mom with a very tight budget. I remember seeing all the fancy books that made sounds and were bright and interactive that I couldn’t afford so I bought the lil golden books for 99 cents each. Now many yrs later I have the joy of making baby journals from them for my grand babies 🥰.,. Luckily my mom saved some material that she used to make our baby sleepers, she has had that material for over 60 yrs now.
I am backing that up on fusible web and cutting out shapes to add to their books.. As always thank you for the creative inspiration!
These are great, love them. Thank you for sharing. Glad you’re feeling better.
WOW! WOW! WOW!!!!!! TFS!!!! I may make some of these for a non profit rescue organization, so thanks for such a great idea!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh. looking at all of these books takes me right back to my childhood. Some of those books were my favorite growing up!
Thank you Amber! Oh my goodness how easy and clean! No guessing, colorful, bright, creative! I'm glad I found you! You rock gurl'💟
Love these ! I love anything vintage and especially Christmas . Lovely books for holiday photos
These are super cute...I love love little golden books...just so much fun!!
I love these junk journals! Great job on them. You’re so organized, and a wonderful teacher.
Oh my.. beautiful...I will be making these for sure.
What a labor of love! These little books are adorable!
You did a great job Amber! Thank you for sharing your talent, your ideas and your enthusiasm! I'm definitely going to make one for myself💗
I love making these! Thanks for sharing your spin on some creative inserts!
I love these, such good pointers and tips. Thanks for sharing. Wow what a great price.
These are A-dorable! Love how you designed & put them together. So creative!
I have been hoarding LGB to make junk journals too. You inspired me to get a move on them. I also like that you made it look simple and streamlined, along with your tips. Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing, not only your awesome talents with us, but also this flip-through of a book I hadn't seen in about 50 years. When I saw the page with the stockings, happy memories flooded my mind. :)
Awesome Idea for the books. I'm sure they will be a hit.
Ok so I had to add this! I appreciate so much you used a family business. No I don’t have a family business but know quite a few business people and competing with the large business community is not fun. Even if it’s a little bit more pricey they will make sure they are done with love ❤️I do love October afternoon I think I have or had all of their collections.
Omg if I made these I couldn’t get rid of them 😂 so so precious! Love it!
These journals are absolutely wonderful and inspiring!
Always amazed at your ideas and ability to make it so easy for us. Ty so much
Such a great tutorial. Thanks so much! Love your tip about hole punching!
Love the books theh take me back to my childhood. Makes me want loom for some.
I always love your craft fair series, these books are wonderful, hope you feel better soon!
Very creative project! They turned out so cute. Thank you for sharing.
YOu do the BEST tutorials!!!!! YOu are so patient with us! Sandy
Ordered a bunch of stuff from Etsy and hobby lobby and eBay to make these!! Excited
SNAP!!! I could not LOVE this more than I do. Awesomeness. Thanks for sharing.
I've always loved LGBs! I've never wanted to make anything called a junk journal until now. I agree with others, this is far too special to put it in the same category as junk journals. Thank you for making this video and all your other videos. I sell at craft fairs but sometimes want to make something just for me - this is one of those items. I don't think you realize how much you awaken the creative spirit in people, especially for someone like me who doesn't think she's especially creative at things like this but wants to dip her toes in it. Your tips and links are so helpful. And your pricing is exactly what people want - thank you for that (I don't bother watching craft fair tutorial videos that don't include pricing). Your videos may give us the push to do it. I AM good at buying crafts supplies. Thank you for helping me to realize I can actually make something special just for me ... one day! You are an incredible lady!
I LOVE this idea for doing my December Daily. Thank you for all of your Craft Fair tutorials, I have made so many fun things for my co-workers, friends and family. I have also watched tutorials from years passed and found so much inspiration.
Thank you for being so kind to share !
Every year I make handmade gifts for 6 of my friends, it's a tradition they've come to love (and expect, lol). It's hard to find the perfect gift that will suit 6 different types of people, but thanks to you and this awesome idea, I've just found their gift for this year!!! Can't wait to get started ♥
Feel better. Thanks for these delightful journals!
These are so cute. I would definitely not hesitate to pay $15 for one, especially after seeing all the work you put into them! Thanks so very much for sharing your creativity and ideas with all of us.
This is literally the cutest idea ever!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
I love this tutorial! I'm feeling super inspired to make junk journals now. Thank you so much for putting this together!
Love love love !! I can’t wait to try it! I love October Afternoon Paper ! You are amazing ❤️
Thank you so much for this tutorial!!!
I’ve picked up so many little golden books and then other books to match with them to make junk journals/albums like this for myself and to sell at markets. I’m going to attempt something I haven’t seen anyone else do; I’m going to keep the gold branding strip on the edges. I think I can do it. But you’ve made this process so simple and it makes so much sense🤍🤍🤍
WOW! Thank you Kathy for all you do! I enjoy your channel so much!
Oh these are just adorable, ideal as a December Daily or just a journal depending on the subject of book, we don't have Golden Books in the UK but similar like Ladybird books or Janet & John, I'll be stalking the charity shops for hard backed children's books now... thank you for sharing.....
Perfect for a December Daily!!
Love this book! Amazing. I have never heard of this. I love Little Golden Books and have quite a collection. I’m going to try this after Christmas. Thank you!
Great project. Love them. Great gift for new mom.
Oh wow, Amber! You did a fantastic job on your journals! Perfect for your craft show! TFS!
These are adorable!
What a fabulous idea!
And I was so happy to see how you punched the thumb notch....ONE layer!
I'm pretty sure you are the first paper crafter I've seen who didn't notch both layers, which totally defeats the purpose of notching it in the first place, which is to make it easier to separate the two layers of paper.
And as others have said here, I wouldn't dream of deconstructing my own childhood books, but I'll be on the lookout at thrift and antique stores.
Thanks for showing your process and for the tip about seeking out a local print shop for the hole punching. 👍🏻
These are adorable! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing talent with us! Glad you are feeling better:)
Great find out about that kind of service when you mass made this beautiful books.
Thank you so much for sharing this. Your journals look fabulous!!!
Love this! Thank you for sharing! I’m going to make some for my online shop! 😊
Love these, you did a great job with these!! 😊
I just found your channel and this particular video in the past few weeks. I absolutely adore this series! And like many of your sub's I agree that you are a wonderful teacher! I wanted to make one of these as a Christmas gift but it was just a little too close to Christmas to do it in all the hustle and bustle. Now I get to work on it without the stress! Lol!
I have never ever gotten into scrap booking but you are an inspiration to say the least. Please know that God has really used you to get the creative part of me moving again and only He knows how much I need that right now! My mother just passed away in September and we all know how much this type of therapy is needed just in the ordinary times. So thank you! God bless you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
These are darling journals! Thank you for sharing Amber! 🤗💖🌸
Thank you so much for this. I love LGBs so much but I couldn't stand destroying them. This preserves the artwork and story AND makes it new and useful. Thank you so much
Another fabulous video Amber! You are artistic, creative and motivating. Thanks for sharing with us!
Oh, my! This is just totally amazing! It almost seems sacreligious to tear apart a Golden Book, but I LOVE this idea! I have a collection of between 450 and 500.
What a cute idea. I have so many pages ready for regular junk journals. I need to look for some little children's books. I love October afternoon! I need to spend some money for paper, stickers etc because while on a substitute teacher assignment I let the fifth graders make a junk journal...they wiped me out! Such fun!
A good project for when kids home for Christmas holidays
Just ordered some little golden books to do this for Christmas! TFS
OMG, these are so precious, I just love this idea. 💖
What a special gift for a child or now adult . I have all of the books I read my now adult children. This would be an amazing gift. And a lot of them are Little Golden Books. 😊💖
What a fun project! I have a stash of that vintage series that I have been saving! 😃
Thank you, Amber, for showing this tutorial! I wanted to do a LGB for my Grandson this year (2021) for his birthday on Christmas Eve! I really appreciate your step by step adding papers, and envelopes, too. I’ll be adding photos for him, to finish it off for him a bit. I’ve watched a lot of tutorials, but love YOURS the best! God Bless xoxo Gillian
They turned out so nice. You did a great job on them.
Amber these are cute as can be great idea love the Simplicity to make something so beautiful in the end!!! TFS, have a blessed crafty day!!💖😁💗👏👏👏
And so neatly done.
Oh my goodness. I am in love with that Santa book!! You did a great job! I really like how well you explain how to do this. Very organized and detailed.
These are AMAZING Amber!!!
This tutorial was so thoughtful! You covered every aspect of making these journals. I've seen lots of other videos on the subject, but they look so much more complicated than yours. I have a print shop less than a mile from my home that we've hired to do signs for the craft fair that we coordinate. I will definitely be asking them to drill my books. Here's a tip for you: Many libraries have used book sales, especially in the spring and summer. I went to ours in July specifically looking for LGB. I found a ton of them, everything from Christmas to Easter to Disney, etc. I came home with 65! Those, along with several novels set me back $30! Now that's a bargain.
Looking forward to watching more of your tutorials. Thanks from Gettysburg, PA
Easiest LGB video I've seen; your music is wonderful, too!! Always love your ideas, TFS!
Found LGB on clearance at Walmart .90 @!!!! Another tip - you can recycle Christmas cards you received for inserts also. Love this idea!
Hi Amber. Welcome back. Glad to see u doing well. 💓
💓💚💓 This was truly ExTrAordinary!!! I have dozens of vintage LGB's from the 70's and I cannot wait to get started on them. Some are Christmas but I think the others will be precious as well. Thanks for sharing this!!! 💚💓💚
Wow this video popped up tonight and my friend just asked me if I wanted to do a craft fair with her with my journals, but I didn't think I could get enough done quick enough. Maybe I'll try!! Must be a sign!💜🙏🏽💜
Wonderful journal idea! Look forward to making my own😉
Absolutely remarkable ❣️
I LOVE THIS!! BRILLIANT!!
What a great video, you've inspired me to pull out some projects to get into the Christmas Spirit! Your crafting is exceptional-thanks so much!
These are cute Amber TFS 😊 well today my my first craft of the season and I sold only my Li Hing Mui lollipops. The $1.25 and $1.50 so never made booth fee. But got organized and stuff made for other craft fairs. 😊
I have not done any papercrafting since my dad died in 2009. I think you have encouraged me to take it up again.
These.are.awesome! Thank you!
Really loved this project! Great pricing also!
Looks like you could sell all of these to people who watched this video. I agree with comments to have a sample as non-crafty people won't understand how to use these.
They are do stinkin cute! I love these junk journals. Amber. You're amazing sweet friend
Loved your video. Takes some time but it's so easy. Thanks 😁
You did a great job on these books. Tfs!
I love this, i would turn the into a Christmas Cookie Recipe Book. You are so wonderful!
