You made everything so clear and concise. You are a very good teacher. I’m 65 years old and have lost some of the feeling in my hands. But you went slow enough for this old lady. I’m going to make your journal tomorrow and try to use up my papers! I’m a pressed flower artist and will incorporate my flowers into this project. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've seen several journal videos, mainly where they were making the paper. I love this because it is much easier to understand the whole idea. I enjoy putting papers together, and dying papers etc, but then I had way too many papers. I made lots of cards, but still had lots of papers left over. The clean and simple approach is great for me. I wasn't too sure what the other journal people were actually going to do with their creations. This shows me clearly and now I want to make some as gifts. Thank you again.

You done a wonderful job making this journal and I love that you didn’t edit out your mistakes to show everyone that mistakes happen behind the scenes, no ones perfect & that mistakes can easily be fixed ❤️ You done a wonderful job 🤗

I love your technical terms--pokey, flippy. Now you are talking MY language. My problem isn't so much making the journal because I have been watching you for years. My problem is the journaling. That is a BIG problem! You did a GREAT job!

Place bags in opposite directions so items would not fall out of them. Love this idea to use paper. Could add ribbon to close if you did not want to turn bags around.

I love putting envelopes in my junk journals....great as a tip in as well as a fold out, or just flat on the page. I don't use a template, just score lines and a little snipping. My current addiction is making pockets.....very quick and easy. Lovely papers and process video. Joie xx 🌿🤓❤️

Welcome to the junk journal world! I love how you made your envelope work...that is one thing that is so cool about junk journaling, is that everything can work! So fun Your journal is super cute and it's amazing how easy you make this look...and it is really that easy! It's a great way to enjoy your favorite paper pad every single day. Love those policy envelopes, too! I am really enjoying this series!
I also use an old thick catalog and shove my pages into it to make sure I am poking with the awl into the fold (hope that makes sense). I have a awl to poke holes; you can also use the Tim Holtz pokey tool as an awl. Sometimes I also washi some of the shorter pages in place so they don't move when the holes are punched (I just remove the washi later). I also like the five-hole pamphlet stitch for these larger journals so that every piece of paper is captured by the binding. Because I make a lot of these, I have a template I made from some old file folder so my holes are always in the same place.

  • @riapieterse5861

Now I am so much more confident!!! Thanks Sooo much.
The binding made me so afraid to try..
But the 3 phamphlet hole looks super easy!

The pink tool you were using is a Brad setter. I used the same thing to punch my signatures in the very beginning until I finally bent it and had to get a real awl lol. 🤣🤣 Also you can keep the needle in by twisting the actual Brad setter at the bottom, that's how you tighten it. 😊 Your journal turned out really nice. 👍🏼

I've never made a junk journal, but now I want too! Great tutorial. I love that the envelope hides the knot too. An awl from the hardware store would definitely be stronger. I have a very old one and it still works great. It would be fun to put some tiny beads and/or sequins in the bottom of the clear glassine bags for a cute shaker too. Where do you get your glassine bags? I might have missed it, but didn't see any in the links you shared.
