I think it would be cute to use the circle punched embellishment as a velcro closure for the belly band. Then, the user wouldn't have to try to slide it back on every time.
I agree 100% the best adhesive is the Scortape...I finally ordered some after trying MANY different types and they wouldn't hold up. I don't think I will find anything better. And thank you so much for your videos! I love them and you give the best instructions. I was never into paper crafts, until finding your channel! But like you...I have always loved stationary/planners and always write lists. Everytime I see a cardstock stack with cute, fun patterns I think of you! (And hoard a bunch 😆)
You know what I love about your channel, you are so good at showing how to make things AND you give options for packaging and pricing. Thanks so much for all that you do. Hugs Donna
Thank you for your videos. I am new to paper crafting. Watching your videos and the simplicity of it makes learning so much easier. Thank you thank you thank you.
Hi from Melbourne Australia. Thank you for your tutorial. I have made your book covers but changed it slightly. I thought your band is lovely but I feel that people here would throw the band away or lose them. I made the band join in the front, used a small piece of tape on the back and 2 small tapes on either side to make sure the band didn't move. To secure and complete the look I used Velcro or hook and loop so that people could open and close. Thank you so much for the tutorial. Warm regards Liane
I've just discovered your channel through this video, thank you so much for a quick and easy project! I'm very new to paper crafting, but even I can manage this one. 😊
I always look forward to your videos!! I’m thinking I’d add a velcro closure perhaps to mine as I’m not sure everyone would use the belly band every time they need to write something down. But I’d definitely include the belly band as well.
I made your wallet notebooks last year and they were a huge hit at my craft fair. I can’t wait to try these too. Thanks for sharing your time and talents 🌈
I love the simplicity of these. I'm always looking for things that my granddaughters can make as gifts. Even though they have been crafting with me since they were 4( now 17 & 15) they still need the simple things( I guess maybe they don't process things the same way as me). They do love making their own gifts though. Thanks for sharing your ideas with all of us.
After making these I realized it worked better to use a small velcro dot to attach the band to itself, using some adhesive to attach it to the back. That way it is easier than constantly removing and replacing the band,, which can tear over time.
You are simply the best. You share all your craft ideas, packaging, pricing and where to purchase everything. All of this to help others. You're wonderful...and I'm so happy I found your channel. I look forward to all of your videos since I only just discovered you today...9.2.19 I have my very first craft fair coming up this October. I think your packaging idea makes it look professional. Thank you Amber, you are a sweetheart...hugs from Arizona...;)
These look awesome! I love your craft fair series (all of them) because my kids' school has a "Santa's Boutique" where parents make/donate little things that the kids then come in and shop for all the people on their Christmas list. The goal is to have cute, usually handmade, items for 50c to $5 each. So many of your idea are just perfect! Thanks for all the inspiration!
Wild Spirits I wish I had YOUR Walmart in Canada.....ours have two pack....$3.99!!! Even with our high dollar exchange, there is no reason to charge that much more. I think we are being "ripped off" - but no sense complaining. I love Amber’s ideas and make them for gifts....and for ME....lol
I picked up 1 of those pads because I was thinking about the same thing. I used your tutorial for the smaller ones. But, when I use the bigger ones, I will use all 3 pads for 1 notebook. Also, I will be using a jump band instead of a belly band. I will also do more masculine ones for the men. I'm thinking I will charge $3 each for mine. TFS
I love it. They are perfect for stocking stuffers. Most of all I like you giving package options & price suggestions. I always struggle with these . You are a great help. I appreciate & love it all. Got to get my order for card stock in...
Thank you for the inspiration Amber. I’ve just had my first craft fair showcasing the notecards and notepads I’ve made after following your videos and it went fantastic. Looking forward to trying some festive makes next. Keep up the good work xxx
These are beautiful and you could easily get more $ - but maker knows best. You always do such an outstanding job, I get excited every year, to see what you make and you never disappoint.
I found some great jr legal size paper pads at Office Depot that are great quality and have 3 different list styles. On sale in pack of 2 for $1.61. One is lined pink paper, one is a check list with boxes and the other is white lined.
Have you though about making the belly band secure to the back and open in the front with maybe a velcro dot? This way they are easier to open and close, and it won't matter if pages are taken out of the pad, the band will still fit.
Love this idea! I already have the notebooks....I purchased them end of last yr when I saw them in my $ Tree thinking I would see someone do something with them...and sure enough, you came through for me yet again. THANK YOU! :)
Thank you for this tutorial! I have a lot of 12x12 single sheets that a friend sent me and I already have these note pads I got at dollar general. I will be using these single sheets up now. Thank you again!
These are just great! I would love to give or receive these, for sure. I like the idea of adding those cute pens. Another idea for closure would be elastic cords and buttons... but the coordinating belly bands are cute!
You need a little chip bag sealer to cut down the size of your bags. It makes a nice, professional seal and then you trim the excess plastic. They run about $15 dollars on amazon but they are well worth the investment.
Thank you Amber I really love watching you for the inspiration and help as I been doing craft fairs, for over 20 years and have so much stash to use up.... 😊
Great tutorial as usual! You are definitely shortchanging yourself when it comes to pricing these notebooks. If you include 2 of those pens they need to be priced higher because they are gel pens and not a basic ballpoint pen. I'd say something like 3$ without the pens and 5$ with the pen. Yes, the pens are a gift but your parents still paid their hard earned money for them to gift to you. ♥ Thank you for taking the time to make this fabulous video and sharing your experience. Hugs from Orlando, FL! 😘
These are so cute, as are all your projects! I do t know how you do it, but you never ease to inspire me! The only thing I would do different is add a closure to the notebook itself, either magnets, Velcro, or ribbon 🎀
Another great idea. Will you be doing anything other than journals and notebooks? Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas re: craft fair items, tips, packaging, variations, etc.
Thanks for watching! I’ve only shown one journal and one notepad in the series. My first idea of the series were clothespin magnets. I do mostly paper projects, so that’s what you can expect from my videos. I will have a variety of different ideas...but yes...more stationery type items will be shared! :) Amber 😊
I love this idea and do intend to make some (Walmart here I come!) but I wonder if there isn't a way to "re-use" this wallet. As you show it, when that paper pad is depleted, the wallet is no longer useful so I don't think anyone would want to pay that much if they figured that out while looking at it.
I love these!! I can't believe you used these pads!! I was looking at them in the Dollar Tree and wondering what I could do with them!! Thanks for sharing!!
I love your channel and projects and have shared the links several times to some of my favorites! I have been drawing artwork lately (you can see a few videos of my latest one on my channel) and I was thinking of decorating my paper pad cover but I'm at a loss for ideas and how to either glue or tape paper to the cover so any tips or a tutorial on how to decorate the cover of a notebook or binder would be super cool!
Another beautiful project, Amber! I would snap these up by the arm load if I was at your craft fair! I have been making your chunky notepads for my friends and family, they love them! I think crafters are making tons of the chunky notepads because I can’t find the pads at my local Dollar Tree half the time!! I wish I could order but they don’t deliver to Canada! I love your creativity and your videos
Awesome idea....as usual! You have such a great imagination....and your videos are very clear. As I live in Canada, our prices are much higher....we have a Dollarama where I live but no Dollartree! However, I use your ideas to make gifts for my grandchildren (I have 15, and they range in age from 15 to 29....so these ideas are great, especially for those who are still in school. Otherwise, I think they will use them at home. I always make one for myself...lol. Thank you again!
I really love this one!! And if you don’t know, Tuesday morning has those punches you can use in the center of the page so you can easily make those punches. 😉
Omg I just discovered your channel and absolutely love your craft videos. I will most definitely be using some of your ideas at my next craft show this spring tfs
I'm OBSESSED with your videos!! I'll be attending my first craft show in Nov and will be adding a few things that you've shared... including these notepads! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Really cute notepads. But I'm a bit concerned when I see how the deco-paper is folding itself back when you open it up. I would imagine that it can be rather annoying when you want to write and the paper keeps getting in the way. Any ideas on how to make it lay flat?
I live near Phoenix...and I looked for this paper AT Michaels because I'm obsessed with it....I could not find it anywhere. I even went online. Finally found it on Amazon BUT.....THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK.....WAH .....
These are adorable Amber. I’m going to make them with the goodies I received from you from your last giveaway. I’m going to my Dollar Tree first thing tomorrow. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. ❤️
I have a question for you (or anyone who has advice!) I'm new to craft fairs and am wondering about the time/effort you put into your projects and how to figure that into price. I am a cardmaker and have a ton of stamps and dies and inks on hand so I made a bunch of stuff with that. It's fun but a LOT of work. Plus the one thing I noticed at my craft fairs is that people really don't seem to care whether you made a project using stamps and coloring them with Copics, or if you used a cut out. All they really cared about was whether it was cute/pretty and the price. I am trying to stick to a tight budget because I don't want to spend more than I make obviously (though I know you do have to spend some of course). So my question is...if I am primarily focused on craft fairs should I even bother with the stamping?? Should I just use the scrapbook paper and embellishments that I just have to glue on? I don't even actually use my stamps and stuff much more and they just kind of sit in a drawer most of the time. Would I be better off selling all that and investing the profit in paper, embellishments, etc., since that would not take as much time?? Thanks for any advice, would love to know what you all, how much time and effort you think is sensible per project. Also, I made a bunch of really advanced cards using my stamps and dies and no one even looked at them! And people at other booths were selling cards for a $1! So are stamped cards even worth trying to sell anymore???
I haven't been able to sell my advanced cards for even $2 (people don't even look at them) and I watched someone who had theirs priced at $1 and no one was buying them either. I finally decided people didn't go to craft fairs to look for greeting cards so I stopped trying to sell them and just make them for myself to send that way I don't feel so bad when I spend hours on an advanced card and I don't see what someone does with it! I've switched to doing what Amber does and make a lot of what she shows. Some sell, some don't...I think it depends on where you live.
Just curious what do you think it costs to make one? They are beautiful and very reasonably priced. However, are you making a profit on each sale? Thanks so much for this video.
I'd add those little Velcro circles to keep the flap closed. Useful and pretty!
Your very very good at teaching us folio's albums craft fair ideas. Thanks for that and you don't just jibber jabber you get on with the tutorial.

I think because you took the time to use eye pleasing paper that it makes these wallets extra special
After making these I realized it worked better to use a small velcro dot to attach the band to itself, using some adhesive to attach it to the back. That way it is easier than constantly removing and replacing the band,, which can tear over time.
