Ps: shout out to brown & dark skin alt quirky girls FINALLY getting their spot light. I was intrested in her the moment I heard she called herself a “swamp princess” …. Like I haven’t felt this perked up about female rap since Doja put out “Moo”
Doechii deserves ALL the flowers and accolades for this mixtape (and honestly some of her previous projects too!!) The vulnerability, fluidity, cadence, flows, messages, sounds, vocal performances, and acting (and this isn't even considering the audio-visual content she's produced alongside it) has been phenomenal. I remember playing it for the first time on my phone and immediately getting my speaker to blast ABNH and do it justice. I've been following her for some years now and I'm saur proud of her 🐊💚
I've tuned into Doechii since "Persuasive/Crazy" era and to see her grow into an amazingly talented, versatile artist....I am so proud of her! ABNH was a masterpiece 💚🐊.
Agreed my cousin had me watch persuasive when I came out and I was unsure of it until I saw the BET awards with her doing Crazy and ever since then I’ve been listening to all of her music
The entrance music is actually from a Mexican series called 'La Rosa De Guadalupe' where there's a different story every episode and when they see the light so to speak air starts to burst into their face. It's very dramatic I tell you 😂
Doechii is such a talented and versatile artist! She can really do it all!! Hip hop, rap/trap, R&B, house, you name it! I am so happy she's getting the attention and recognition she deserves! I am all here for it! 😊
I am so happy to see Doechii’s well deserved recognition! ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal’ was one of my favorite releases last year. I hope she avoids the trolls (cough cough Azealia Banks). Doing the back and forth is not worth it. Maybe one or two acknowledgments sure. After that no more🙅🏾♂️💯
Man I remember following her during the “What’s your name” era. It’s been such a blessing to follow her since then. I wouldn’t say she was a TikTok artist because that wasn’t really where she blew up (it was RUclips) but there shouldn’t be a negative connotation if the artists is talented
@ it is a good song and i listen to it still, but its sooo different from what shes making with her mixtape and even the eps & other stuff before she signed to her label
I'm so glad that I got to see Doechii on the last stop of her ABNH tour a few months ago. She is an amazing performer! The energy in the venue was electric and people were so hype. I hope she will be the opener for Kendrick and SZA's Grand National Tour so she can keep the momentum and increase her fanbase even more. I've been following her for years and she's been putting in the work. It's great to see all the buzz she's been getting rn. I think calling someone a TikTok artist is pretty dismissive, but I understand why people do it. I agree that 'TikTok artists' are just artists whose music is popular on the app and haven't transitioned to have the same success on other platforms so people mostly associate them with solely that space.
Denial is a river was my introduction to Doechii and the creativity of the video alone got me hooked. It's refreshing to see artists putting actual effort into music videos again (not like us, on my mama). I'm a lyrical person, so the song made me even more of a fan.🔥🔥🔥 Sis is talented. Let me get from under my rock😂😂
I saw her live in New York City and when I tell you, we made her come back out for a freaking encore almost twice she’s gooooooood like she’s one of the best rap performers I’ve seen in a long time
Doechii the don Doechii the dean Doechii SUPREEEEEME. Have loved Doechii for years and am so happy to see her getting the exposure she fcking deserves. I saw her live at the NY State Fair summer 2023 for SIX DOLLARS.... thatll never happen again 🤣
Honestly yes. I feel with this album especially. The songs are quick and there’s alot of “clip able sounds. Nissan Altima is my best example. But she tells a story and the writing and lyrics are tight. Recognizing how TikTok can and has helped you grow while having the talent to transcend that is true talent. Fuck the opinions and all the logistics
The main thing is that Doechii isn’t leading with sex she’s leading with her artistry and that’s what set her apart. Her skill is apparent and because she can rely on that comfortably as a rapper, a singer and an incredible performer (you know she choreographed that Colbert peformance?) she doesn’t have to resort to just twerking in booty shorts/thong to a beat for her music to do well.
If anyone hasn’t seen the ‘Ain’t it funny’ music video from Danny Brown please go check it out. It’s a really similar concept to this mv that there has to be some inspiration!
I think the biggest thing that separates a tiktok artist from someone who blew up on tiktok is the quality of their music. Dochi is just an artist who has benefited from tiktok virality. Ice Spice is a tiktok artist.
Just like Doja, Doechii elevated her name from Tiktok but didn't rely on it and transcended from it. I wouldn't call her a Tiktok artist although some I would.
Doechii x Doja Cat would change me. PREFERABLY an EP, but I want a quality collab so so so bad. They’re so above talented in rap and have a crossover quality about them that I think needs to be shown. We know Doja can do pop and rap, and Doechii’s I’m His, He’s Mine with Katy was streamed so much for me last year.
I forgot today was Tuesday lmaooo, but “I love Doechii’ *says louder than anyone else. Did you see her performance with Issa Rae? Reminds me so much of Mirror bae on Insecure 🥹.

i think when she says making tiktok music she means that her label wants her to make more music like “what it is” which i would define as tiktok music
Oh is that considered a TikTok song? I heard it in a hair salon & kept playin it
@ it is a good song and i listen to it still, but its sooo different from what shes making with her mixtape and even the eps & other stuff before she signed to her label
@@kellenbasic oh for sure! I was meaning more ppl considering her a ‘TikTok’ artist just bc that’s where a lot of us were introduced to her
I dont think so cause they don't want her to do pop as she said on Nissan Altima 😂

Some of the audio is missing :(
The first time i heard about her was because of the collab with Katy Perry and that made me want to listen more music from her.
