A MUST Upgrade for Jeep Wranglers with Six Speed Trans - B and M Sport Shifter

If you have a 2007 or newer Jeep Wrangler JK with the 6 speed manual transmission, this is a must watch video because the B&M Precision Shifter upgrade will change the driving characteristics that much... in a good way!
This install isn't ideal for all "do it yourself-ers". There is a tricky bit of lowering the gas tank and transmission cross-member to get access to the foam donut and top of the transmission. I go through step by step in the video to show how the at home mechanic can get this done. The hardest part for me was to just get the stock shift knob off!
The shifter is a very high quality part and the housing is made from billet aluminum with internals constructed out of 4140 chromoly steel and will reduce the throw between gears by 35%. I take the Jeep on a test drive after the install to show the new shifter in action.
Plus, I also give a shout to / rubiconunlimited who sent me a cool "pull to eject" decal that goes on the driver's seat adjust handle and adds a cool bit of flare (might even be good for a few extra horsepower... can't confirm yet) Check his page out.
Here's where to get the "pull to eject" sticker:

I like this guy. Drives a manual jeep wrangler, entertaining to listen to slash watch, works on his vehicles, very informative, plays with his dog while he works, and believes in Bigfoot. Awesome
I kind of want to copy and paste this comment into my bio... seems like a cool guy when you phrase it like that... way cooler than actual ... LOL
@@AutoEdits haha do it. It's awesome when someone makes you sound cooler than you actually are lol.
i watched this whole video even though i don’t even own a jeep, well done
Owning a black vehicle offers the option of heat stroke and making stores without building a fire
For every thumbs-up Pinto gets a scratchy
Love this!
Stock shifter is like a rowboat paddle but with more slop.
OOH! That's another good one... you should do that for a living...lol!
autoedit any of your rigs have on-board air compressors ? I'm looking to mount a tank on the frame of my f-150 and converting the air conditioner compressor to run it ( just cuz I'm cheap & I don't want a bird's nest of wires to manifest it's way under my hood ).
My apologies if this question has already been asked and answered. Aside from the foam isolator, do you think there would be enough clearance to get the shifter in place without dropping the whole transmission 3 inches? Because that seems like a ton of work just to reuse a $20 part. I think I’d rather just invest in a new one before starting the install then cut the old one out. That way I can skip that whole ‘drop the tranny’ thing.
I have an Automatic but I still watched the entire video lol always an awesome video bro.
Love to hear that! LOL
Thanks!!!
@@AutoEdits Same! lol!
Anyone else notice he was smart and painted the metal while he was in there?
Welcome back!!!
Never a boring moment in your vlogs!! The only channel i never skip a single sek!
Wow Awesome to hear, thanks so much!
It's been over a year since I watched your video but I finally bought one and installed it a few days ago. No more popping out of gear. One of the best mods I've done yet. Thanks for the video
Never stop doing these videos, you're great at it.
Thanks so much!!!
I’ve wanted this for my TJ awhile now. Might have to finally pull the trigger now that you’ve confirmed it’s awesomeness. Love the “man pedal” remark 🤣
I wish you would of included a before clip of the stick floating around while driving before the swap, would have been nice to see the difference ...
Anthony Maske I could post up a video of one flopping around like a flag in the wind just going down the interstate.
Jason's not kidding, it flops around on a dirt road between 2-3 inches, let alone if your crawling over things. This upgrade is definitely on my list!! Also I have the same problem with 3rd gear, it has a mind of its own and pops out as it wiggles, the dealership just says, "that's odd, we couldn't get it to do it." They just know they can't fix it with their parts.
Just changed the trans oil on my 16. 24k miles. The oil level was low. The transmission is quieter and shifts smoother. The magnetic drain plug was filled with metal. I'm no spring chicken when it comes to manuals. Really disappointed with the sloppy shifter and even more with the under filled trans. Change it out guys! It's easy and costs very little compared to the issues later.
My 2008 JK was CONSTANTLY falling out of first gear. Watched all the videos about the synchronizers needing to be replaced (which made no sense at all). Then I saw your video and thought what the hell and got the B&M shifter. What a difference. Been driving it for four months now with no more first gear issues. I will say that I was able to remove the foam isolator without dropping everything underneath. But what a product this shifter is. 100% recommend to anyone having ghost shifting issues.
Thought I was the only one who felt that way about my shifter. Definitely adding to my list of to do's. Great video, Thank you!
Thanks for checking it out!
I do hate the shifter but is $500 worth it? I don’t know?!
Everybody gangster till the air gun comes out
LOL
The stock shift knob is pretty heavy. I swapped it out for a much lighter one made by martin shapes out of recycled surfboards and its a lot better than before. You feel the shift more and it doesnt slop around as much. I am sure this shifter is way better but if you dont have 400 bucks to throw at the problem...
Andy Giametta heavy shifters tend to help actually. Its just jeep managed to make the worst shifter ive ever used
@@AWThethrower Its a Mercedes transmission used in some of their heavier trucks

Well you've sold me on the shifter now haha! No idea when I'll ever be able to afford it though. The next big purchase for me will be a lift now that I've got the drivetrain all beefed up.
I’m from India and I’m a very big fan of wranglers but unfortunately here jeeps are very very costly. Roughly about 107142 USD for a jeep
I used a strap wrench to remove the shifter knob on my JK. Worked like a champ and took less than 30 seconds. Just in case anyone watching wants to try this.
Installed the shifter a few days ago, lever only, not the tower assembly. I did it mainly because of the dog leg in the B&M allowing me to use the front cupholder again. Mine had been popping out of 1st if I was not careful when I put it in gear, and I had intended to buy the shift tower in a few weeks. When I disassembled it, the stock boot was loose from the trans tunnel. I heard about an SB Mopar issued about the boot causing the tranny to pop out of gear. On a hunch, I deleted it when I reassembled. Holy cow, what a difference. The transmission feels totally different. Very little shaking in the shifter, gear changes are rock solid, and so far no more popping out of gear. The stock shift lever is a POS! I was concerned about noise radiating from the transmission without the boot, but it's not an issue. I have no fear of water ingress because the foam doughnut has that area sealed tight. As a bonus, due to the shorter lever, shift travels have been slightly reduced. If you're considering this mod, get the lever 1st, you might just save yourself $469.00. No way in hell I would install the shifter and reuse the stock lever!
Interesting about that rubber boot. I do think the B&M lever is cooler for sure!
YOU DIDN'T MENTION TO LET THE LIQUID SEAL CURE... Using the shifter right away can displace the liquid and cause tiny breaks in the seal, which will potentially allow oil to leak out and worse, potentially and let dirt and or water into the gearing housing. Overall good video, another imperfection cleaned up. Good stuff.
In a way, I'm glad to know all jks have sloppy-ass shift levers. I thought there was something wrong with mine, it flops around so much.
I bought a WJ because of this guy years ago. And now... I’m buying a JK.
Love all your videos!
Right on! So glad to hear from you!!!
like a rifle bolt. Well done love the series!
Love your videos dude! Love your wrangler just as much! I appreciate all the time and effort you put into your videos
JUST SPOKE WITH B&M TECH IN BOWLING GREEN KENTUCKY , HE SAID YOU DONT HAVE TO LOWER THE GAS TANK OR TRANS TO REMOVE FOAM PADDING JUST GOTTA BE PATIENT WITH IT 😎😎😎😎🇺🇸
Why are you yelling in all caps? I hope this technique works out for you... would save a few minutes for sure but even with dropping it, I tore the thing so I'm not sure how your gonna get it.
I received the shift lever first and put it on. To remove factory knob easily I used a ball joint separator tool. (Looks like a tuning fork) After removing trim rings. Slip it over the shaft. Tap upwards with a medium size hammer. It pops right off. When driving I noticed less flex in the shaft. I like it already and I haven't even put the other part on. I also will get a better idea of the difference between factory and B&M linkages.
Glad to see others keeping manual alive.
Heck yes!
I’m 40 seconds into watching this video and just subscribed 😂
HAHA! Thanks so much! Glad you get my sense of humor
Jason, I made this video to try and help folks to want to follow your video but find out, like I did, that the seal you get from the parts counter these days is not compressible and cannot be used for this anymore. Thanks for the great help with all of your videos, and I hope this helps people that are going to replace their shifter like i did this past weekend. ruclips.net/video/RHPMg9C4J0w/видео.html
Good video explaining the new part issue. Hope this helps someone trying this.
After watching this video I had to get one and O MY GOODNESSES it’s awesome I love it!!! Thank you brother for sharing this product I highly recommended it to whoever has a Jeep
I don't understand why anybody would want to have a shifter that requires so much effort to shift. I am a truck driver and we have a long throw in our Peterbilt trucks. Some people extend them even more, so that you can shift them with your finger tips without the clutch. In my video "Shift a 6 Speed Like a Pro" I show how to make your transmission last the life of the car.
It's the trade off I put up with to keep this thing from jumping out of gear when you least expect it. That is flat out dangerous.
this also fits on TJs from 05 & 06 with the NSG370 six speed manual trans
I agree Manual is the way to go, Automatics are for Wussies, Not Sorry !
Should do an edelbrock eforce supercharger next
I really like that kit. The thing that gets me about a supercharger is the fact you must run super unleaded gas forever more and that it is just really expensive! BUT it is what this thing needs to make it more drive-able around town and on the highway.
when my payments are over in 2 years I'm getting an Edelbrock charger. not having a car loan will make premium gas more affordable
Way better, and that is a nice Jeep....manual, the only way to go
A Jeep is the only way to go “manual” is optional
Came for jeep vids hung about for the mustang subscribed for pinto 😂
LOVE THIS! Thanks!
any update on the B&M shifter after using it for 2 years ?
please make an update video for the shifter
Still like it very much.
Hey Mate... Great video... you've almost convinced me I could do this myself... and that's saying something. What have you done to get that great sound? Just a muffler change?
HA! Thanks dude! This install is straight forward but just takes a little patience and determination... you can do. The exhaust on the Jeep is the Flowmaster American Thunder kit and I've been very happy with it.
Love your Channel. Was there a 'break in' period on your install? Just had my B&M installed and it's is a bear getting it into 1st, 3rd, and 5th gear (pushing upwards). Wondering if it gets a bit easier over time/miles driven--if you noticed. I want to love this short throw but on the fence.
Thanks and yes, it takes a few weeks to break-in and feel a bit easier. Plus, you will develop a good technique... I find if I use a bit of a pop motion going out of one gear and into the next works great.
I’m not sure if you’ve experienced the same problem I have. Mine seems to be easy to miss 5th gear. Your thoughts on the 5th-6th gear transition as well. Just wondering if this would improve those transitions.
Bruce Bracy I seem to have this issue plenty of times. I always thought that I was distracted (not paying attention to what gear I’m in), but then again it’s never an issue on any other manual ride. So I end up putting back in fourth and easing it back into fifth. It feels like to me that the fifth gear should be more off to the right - hard to explain but it happens so often that I guess it is an issue. Glad to see I might not be alone.
Peter, the gating is strange for sure. They did have to leave a gate far right for Reverse. But, the transition isn’t good.
@@biner626 That's why it is so stupid to put reverse all the way accross the shift pattern on the right. Reverse (a low speed gear) belongs beside the low speed gears. Top left guys! What's so hard about that? The guys that design these transmissions are NOT enthusiasts, and their daily drive is an automatic, so what do they know.
that Jeep not only needs that upgraded shifter, but it deserves it. You owe the dog though. For making her go off-roading
That’s why I’ve ordered all black 2021 Rubicon manual! I’m glad I’m not alone!
Hey Jason, quick single question at the end.
I have the B&M stick installed... fantstic improvement in feel in and of itself. The shifter mech I have yet to install because I need to drop the skid plates and that will be a project.
I have been testing the b&m mech in my vise, it does not seem to have the same return to center that the installed stock unit does. When in the 1/2 column, if I fall to neutral it stays in the 1/2 column instead of returning to the 3/4 column. I am assuming this is because it is uninstalled, or it could be drag from the towel I am clamping it with. No one has mentioned this behavior and I just want to check.
Does your b&m return to neutral center?
Thanks for your time.
Solid question. This does have a very good 3-4 neutral center to it.
I test drove the new JL with the 6 speed manual and it is much tighter and the throws are really short. Almost feels like my old Mazda Miata did, really sporty. Great upgrade for the JK guys!
Trevor Current you mean you test drove a fiat. 😂
Jason, this stream is a bit old, hope you still monitor it. I installed the B&M per your video, great video. Turned on the Jeep and it will not engage gears. Shifted into 2L and the jeep moved forward. Can it be that I miss matched the gear from when I took the old one off and added the new? I plan to put the old one back on tomorrow to see if it engages, then try the install again. Hope it's not a bad unit that I got from B&W. Thoughts?
I'm still here... and not sure... sounds super frustrating after all that work. You are on the best track to re-install the stock unit or at least remove the new one and check for proper engagement and put it right back on. Sorry to hear such a difficult situation.
Awesome Vid, This is definitely on my short list of upcoming mod's, unless I loose my mind and get JLUR
It really did make this thing so much more fun to drive... I make excuses to run errands in it now... oops time to go to Del Taco for a combo burrito!
Mine is on the brink of a new clutch. I'm going to replace it with a Centerforce dual force and the shifter all at once, it's going to be like a whole new driving experience.
I have a 2005 wrangler unlimited with the 6 speed (wish I bought a Rubicon) but going to look into this as I have always complained of the sloppiness in the stock shifter.
It helps a lot.
I love that dog 🐕
Me too, she's special.
If ever your up in the Montreal area - we can doggy sit for you if you need some one on one time with your better half :)
So if I am planning on buying a new foam gasket anyway, do I really need to do anything under the jeep? Can't I just rip it out through the top? After watching your excellent video and reading the instructions, it looks like the only reason you drop the gas tank is to push the foam gasket up.
I'm not sure... seems possible and a couple of people have commented that they were going to try that.
Awesome upgrade I want to do this I hate that 6 speed shake ....shout out to Pinto love your helper 🐶💕 she's so cute
LOL! You're the best... thanks for watching and I'll give Pinto the dog scratches from ya!
Beautiful! I saw the salute in your eyes when you first shifted into 3rd. Kiss that mutt on the cheek for me! Dope channel!
Appreciate it!! Thank you and pets for Pinto!
Seems like you have to reach a bit more to grab it.
I'm so buff I was able to pop my shifter knob with my 2 fingers. Just kidding - almost gave myself a hernia. The funny thing is, once I saw this video, its all I could think about when I drove, holding on to my wobbly shifter. Finally said oh thats it and ordered it. Still need to install, I'm not very mechanically included sooooo.... may be taking a trip to the shop (they know me well by all the stuff I start and cant finish).
I was just curious, after installing the shifter just over two months ago, has it gotten easier/smoother to shift the gears?
I doubt it. Having a shorter throw will mean it will be harder to shift. You have less leverage.
So i don't think this project is even worth it.. :/ How am I to enjoy shifting if it goes to a more hardened, and cranking feel? Shifting should feel as smooth as butter.
How in the world was I not subscribed to you? What is wrong with me? Anyhow, subscribed now! Love your videos! Thanks for putting in all the work! And I know this was asked before, but now it's been 4 years... What's the verdict this long in? How many miles since the install? I have the same picky 3rd issue, the B&M sitting on the desk, another NSG in pieces for rebuild as that was the plan, and now my pilot bearing is screaming, so a clutch job needs to go down real soon... Can't find some of the parts for the NSG and don't trust rebuilders, so might just drop clutch and B&M in and call it good for a while... Just hate doing things twice, but it'd give me time to source parts and do a really nice rebuild job on the spare trans I have...
Howdy and welcome! That's a tough call on pulling it apart twice... I'm still stoked on the shifter. I actually will be posting a very thorough shifting video later today so check back this weekend!
@@AutoEdits Sweet! Well, subscribed and looking forward to it! Thanks for getting back with an answer, and I'm glad it's what I wanted to hear too! 🤣
Thumbs up for Pinto!
Hey Jason, which video where you changed the trans mount?.....
Love the videos......
Stock transmission mount in this Jeep.... thanks for being here!
After having my 2007 JKU Rubicon pop out of first gear for several months, I broke down and ordered this shifter. To say I am pleased with the results would be an understatement! Nearly a month after the new shifter install....not one pop out! The install was easier for me. I was able to get the shifter in without lowering the cross member and\or lower the trans. Much more secure and positive shifts with no vibrations. It is now more fun to drive my '07 with 110K on the clock.
If anyone is having the same issues, give this B&M shifter a try.
Glad to hear this!
So this mod solved your issue of first gear pop out? I have to hold mine in first gear (or else) and since they don't sell the fix anymore, I thought I might try this before going to a new transmission.
Yes, it did.
It has been nearly a month as my daily driver with no pop outs of 1st gear since install. I also read that it would need a trans pull and rebuild to remedy, but a $500 try is worth $2500 or more. The shifts are solid and secure. It takes some time getting used to, but way better than stock feel. I don't want to gaurantee that it will do the same for you, but for me it was worth a try and has been a success. I may need to pull my tranny at some point for clutch replace but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. At that point, I may have a rebuild as I'd like to get 200,000 miles plus out of my JKU.
Good luck!
Rich, so you say there is no true fix for 1st gear pop out? Where have you heard this info? No parts for rebuild? Please explain?
Thanks for the reply! Sounds like it would be worth the try for me also. I'll post how it works for me!
You still have your kidneys 😂😂😂
What an awesome upgrade that most jeep owners don't think about! Get that thing feeling like Large Marge!
Thanks for the shout out and glad youre diggin' that pull to Eject sticker!
Thanks dude... Really! Hope you sell a few of those things. It's a great idea and execution.
autoedit thanks for being an inspiration!
Kinda off subject but what exhaust are you running? Is it an axel back? I love the sound of it.....tnx

Oh man so glad to hear, I thought the 3'rd gear deal was just me.
Right! You are not alone... it was a bummer about the stock shifter but this thing rules!
autoedit just finished watching the video. I would be just as excited as you were. Definitely adding this to my want list. Didn't even know this was out there. Thanks for the video.

HI SR, I loved Your Videos, but Please Wear Safety Glasses, Your Eyes R Priceless.
Noted!
Such a good video! Ahh man, I miss driving a 6 speed wrangler SO much!
Thanks dude! Yeah, it's pretty fun and this little shifter makes a huge difference. I like seeing a bunch new videos over on your channel!
No run Amsoil Synthetic fluid and see how smooth it shifts.
I am interested how this works for you after using it for a bit. My 08 JKUR pops out on washboard roads all the time. If this is the fix I am in!
This is the fix! I couldn't believe how much better it is now. No popping out of gear at all.
Any grinding of gears?
I was wondering that too if any grinding gears - My JK Sport 2015 does it frequently in Fourth Gear! Pretty annoying - you really have to pay attention to get it in there if not GRRRRRRRR!!!
BTW look on eBay for a replacement transfer case knob. Sickspeed has the ball style ones to match your new shifter knob
Peter Brophy having bad synchros will give you that problem. I had to replace mine under warranty to get rid of the grinding and popping out of gears. This kit seems to help patch the problem though.
I’d love one in my 13 JKU but in Australia they cost just over $1000
Yikes!
Awesome so glad to see this. I’ve heard issues with these on the Wrangler but because I haven’t seen any actual reviews I was waiting to see this. Mine pops out of third gear all the time. Have you checked to see how the quicker shifts translate to accelerating ? Thanks for the video. If you don’t mind if you do a follow up review on how you like it in a few months. Thanks man and keep up the awesome videos.
I'll do follow up videos for sure. It's only a couple of days old and getting better all the time.
autoedit awesome man. Really want to get rid of that 1 foot of throw from 1st gear to 2nd gear lol
Awesome vid if I had a wrangler that would be the shifter I would get! Trying to talk my wife into a wrangler lol. What breed of dog is pinto?
I have a couple questions. 1)What is the part # for the new foam seal from the Jeep dealer. 2)Do you think this could be installed without dropping the tank and trans; My thought is just rip the old foam seal out and replace with a new one like you did. You wouldn't need to drop the transmission it would be much less trouble to install. Great video!
That is a great suggestion and I think it might be tricky but totally possible.
Here's the part number 52122269AC
Thanks!
Drove a stick when I was looking. Scared me. Bought a auto.
I did the same. Shifted worse than my old 1984 s10
Installed it in late March and although better than stock, it does regularly stick from 2nd to 3rd. Any suggestions to 'loosen it up' so it doesn't stick? Also those on a tight budget might opt for the stick handle first. Made a HUGE difference even with stock shifter. I didn't lower transmission either (too much work for a foam circle)...I just pulled it out from the top and put it back (albeit in several pieces)...
Thank you for the great video! Got my shifter installed last week and it truly is a game changer. Felt very firm at first and has become smoother over the last week but still very precise. Not a handshaker anymore, the shifter is solid! This has made my '12 JKUR so much more fun to drive and I can't wait to get it on the trails.
Love to hear this! Guess what.... I just got the transfer case shifter in the mail today and it RULES!!! Can't wait to show you that video!!!
The foam seal that goes around the shifter necessary? Is it just to keep heat out of the interior or does it actually hold your trans in place ?
It doesn't hold anything in place but just seals the gap from the outside. I wouldn't run without it.
Glad I have an automatic transmission. One less thing to deal with while wheeling.
Ive wheeled both, and went back to a manual for serious offroading
+1 to manuals. One of the best features is the anti roll back on them. Came in handy quite a few times!
I've been watching your videos for a few days straight. I watched all the mustang videos and im this far into the Jeep build. And I thought when I first found you I recognized your voice from roadkill! Heck yeah man. I hope I can get into some cool jobs like you've had one-day. And also my RUclips channel does as well. It's a slow start. But it's only been a a few months. Check it out it's called Tools & Cars With Kris
In this video that was very informative and professional, I learned more about what it takes to do the clutch and flywheel change out. It gave me a real feel
how the mechanics preform the work. I would have to say it would be worth my money to have them work on my Jeep.
Glad you were able to get that "take away" with this video. All of these installs aren't for everyone but they give you an idea of what's involved!
With my 2011 manual JK, I've driven 100,000 miles in 17months - city traffic, highway, off-roading and all. I like how smooth (and easy) the stock shifter is. I don't know if I could fight the shifter for 250miles per day (my average day driving). I love the fact that there's no wiggle to the B&M when it's in gear. I've never slipped out of gear with my stock shifter, but that's not to say it won't ever happen.
When I shift, it's like butter...effortless...no shimmy, shake, or jerking of the transmission. Almost feels like driving an automatic if someone wasn't watching me shift. LOL! I don't know if I'm willing to spend nearly $500 for a shifter that requires more effort to shift for 250 miles per day. I can shift the stock with two fingers, zero effort.
But the off-roading use of a B&M may be actually of great usage. I only use 1st and 2nd when off-roading. Hmmmmmm, thinking of maybe getting a 2nd Jeep and using a B&M versus using my work-Jeep for it.
Amazing video! Watched the entire video. Perfect install and amazing detail to what you did to get the shifter in. I'm sure the dog was wanting to play the whole time. LOL!
That's a lot of miles to put on a Jeep. Glad your shifter works well. Mine jumped out of third regularly and that's not safe so something had to be done.
@@AutoEdits if it's jumping out of gear, could be slightly bent shift forks. That shifter is a beast tho! Looked it up and off-rosters swear by it.
Yeah, I trust this 3.8 like no other. It's never let me down! 17months of 250 miles days and it always makes it back to my driveway! The funnest ride ever, on top of that. I'll give this engine 300k miles before I do my next mod (5.7 Hemi with a 400hp clutch and adapter to keep my NSG370). I would hate to lose my reliable transmission, as this thing goes forever thru this desert climate and always runs well.
Awesome Video! This is definitely on my To-Do List. Have you ever considered upgrading the Shift Boot Cover to Leather? RedLineGoods makes some really sweet Leather Shit Boot Covers if you are interested.
Never thought of that... the boot that's there is fine with me. I appreciate the suggestion though.
@@AutoEdits - Understood. I know how you are very Detail Oriented and appreciate minor upgrades. I have learned so much from all of your well done videos!
Great video! Wondering if you could maybe do a small update/review video? That would awesome! Thanks for all the great DIY's
The stock shift handle is rubber mounted and that is why it feels so mushy. I would recommend you swap that for the B&M shift handle and knob FIRST. It is not rubber mounted. Try that before you spend the big bucks. I did both. It is harder to shift. But it has never popped out of gear. Been using it for about a year now.
Hi, When you have a moment. I just installed the B&M shifter and it does reduce the throw dramatically. The feel is more ''mechanical'' and precise. Does it soften some with usage? I just had time for a quick trial after the install, so not familiar with the shifter yet. Tx
Yes, it does get a bit easier after a few weeks. Here's a tip to understanding what it's doing. The shifter is designed to keep the selector in a desired gear so if you slowly pull the shifter out of gear, it will fight you. I found that using a bit of a "pop" with your hand out of one gear to another, it works like butter. Not sure if I'm explaining this clearly but... try that.
AutoEdits, hey thanks. I will try the pop. Like driving an old army truck.
You make it look so easy but I know it takes a lot of skills to do this kind of jobs…I own a 2016 rubicon hard rock and I love it I’m going to lifted for the first time don’t know if I’ll go with 35 or 37 ..
It would kill Jeep to install this quality part into the truck at the factory 🙄
🤣
I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out how to fix that shifter wobble now I know
I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler, would that work for it
Yes.
Ur dog is cool. He loves that broken ball. I bet he doesn't care for a new one. Awesome friend
Pinto is awesome, thanks so much!!!
just installed this couple days ago. loving it much more than stock, but have to noticed the feel of putting it in first and second to be possibly too stiff? those two gears are the only difficult ones for me
Give it a couple of weeks to wear in. Just kept getting better for me over time.
@@AutoEdits thanks for the quick response!

The foam ring I got from the dealership looks identical to yours, except this one doesn't feel squishy AT ALL. It's a very firm foam. Did I get the correct one?
There's only one and it is a dense foam.
@@AutoEdits Thanks. I’m at the parts counter and they can this part number, which ends in …69AC supersedes an AB and an AA. But their information doesn’t say why the upgrade.
If you can confirm the one you used was also an AC or not I’d appreciate it. Hopefully you keep records.
@@mushtang2 It was too long ago... don't have the paperwork.
@@AutoEdits Thanks anyway. There’s just no way this one is going to compress enough to be able to push down inside the hole. If I use it I’m afraid I would have to lower the transmission far enough to completely put it in place from below and I don’t want to do that. I’m not sure what I can do at this point other than try and find one of the old model numbers.
Just put a snow globe on your stock jk shift knob and enjoy the show!
That's pretty hilarious!
I have a question, are you still using the B and M sport shifter and how do you like it
I am and still appreciate having it.
@@AutoEdits ok , jumping in and getting it
Nice video. I've been waiting for a product like this for my jk since I got it...
Mine is a 2010 Ruby Unlimited and yeah, the stick does dance around a bit but when it's in gear it never bounces out.....yet. I've had mechanically minded friends tell me my tranny mounts are gone. All is fine. I'm subscribing to have this ready when I have time/xtra money to install the new shifter that you have. It looks GREAT! You got a great buddy there. I have a terrier named "Guido" that is MY Jeep dog. Hey, one more thing. My wife is only 4-10 and I call her the world's tallest midget. She had a hard time getting into my 4" lifted Ruby without getting a running start. I installed the Rock-Slide Engineering power steps. Nice! Just sayin'
Howdy and Welcome! Thanks for the input and scratches for Guido!
I hate watching Jeep videos because they always make me want to spend money on mine! Well, this is going on the list of Jeep parts I want.
Wow thank you for this video, You described a few of the issues I have with mine, The "if not fully in gear will pop out" Yeah mine will do that in first and third. If not fully in gear in first gear it sounds and feels like you just blew the trans out. imperfections in the road and mine is bouncing all over. and on a dirt road you don't dare shift, the dang thing will smack your hand if not ready for it. Yep I will be getting the B&M shifter soon.
Sorry to hear you are having the same issues I did... this install takes a bit but is worth it!
Must upgrade for a jeep should be a V8 engine.
I agree.
