- Here is a video on how we resize rings. Our design & jewellery repair workshop is conveniently located in The Design Tower in the Grand Canal area of Dublin 2.
Working from our fully equipped workshop we provide a first class, fast and efficient jewellery repair, remodelling and design service. Where possible we will try to do on the spot repairs.
It's fucking amazing how rough he's being with those files. I mean you go astray with one of those and that ring could be completely done. But he just goes balls deep and has it done.
Great video and you seem to take pride in your profession, a true professional. Many videos on here so a mad man banging away with a metal hammer, great to see how its really done.
I'm glad I found this video because I've been hesitant to get my ring resized lol. Everyone's been scaring me by saying it'll ruin the diamonds and it'll never be the same. Thank you for this! 🙌🏽
Nice job on the sizing. We use 18k testing acid to find the joint. Apply the acid to the bottom of the shank, give it about 30 seconds and wipe it off. If the ring has been sized previously you will see a line.
great video! can you make one about sizing a ring down 1-2 sizes? thanks!
Sorry for writing you, just out of curiosity your page come up on my suggested friend lists so I was just wondering if I knew you from somewhere?!!!...
Tony, amazing insight into the process of upsizing half eternity rings. Does upsizing on this type of ring pose problems to the stones like in channel setting?
Wow, that's some process. Great job!
Bringing back memories, when I was in high school or actually junior high school in my workshop class.
Another way of adding the solder is on a tweezer save the solder jumping off....heat the solder so it beads up on the tweezer, then introduce it to the ring with the added piece of metal. Personally I would have used a smaller piece of 18ct white as it's expensive to buy fresh metal......plus it cuts down on the filing.
Thank you Tony! You're the Best!!!
amazing! this is a legit job. I am so impressed.
Nice work. Going up in size is always fun.
great video! very informative straight to the point and clear! thank you!
Very interesting. l like you'r accent.
That is really cool on how you resize rings!
At 2:06 how do you make sure the ends of the ring match up with the ends of the inserted piece so they mate up properly?
At 2:26
cant believe how rough the tools are yet its an excelletn job.....each to his own eh?
+greystonesable You've never watched a Rhinoplasty then?
One can hide a lot with filling and polishing
I have a question. I know the ring is white gold. But the material you filled it with was it white gold as well or a different metal? In order to make it larger?
Thank you! I would love to see more of your work, its amazing. Thank you! Tommy
it's not simple great job
Beautiful job. Awesome work
Very cool and informative video!

Make more videos . This one was great.
after resizing, should the ring weigh less? especially if the jeweller says he added gold. I have been shafted.
This is fascinating. Great work!

Question please answer...…….my sister has a 10k mother daughter ring that needs to be enlarged. Can one supply gold for material to go into ring to be sized ...is that something a customer can request to be done ...or...is it up to the jeweler to do? I understand 10k is more fragile...is that correct? The ring being sized is 10k with 4 stones...needs to go a size larger or 1 1/2 size larger...….can this be done? I would so appreciate your insight.....wonderful video....I did so enjoy it. Thanks so much for your time and hopefully I will hear your answer to my questions....thanks ever so. Johnny/for my sister Geri
Hi Johnny
Yes we can resize a 10 ct Ring call in any time cost approx 30 to 40 euro
Regards
Tony
awesome work!!!
Question, I have a similar ring, i will be getting it resized to a smaller size. Do I run a risk after the resizing the diamonds falling out???
BEAUTIFUL work.
Very nice professional work! Does this work on sterling silver? I bought a CZ replacement for work cause I don't want to Rick my diam
so the little piece thats added isnt precious metal at all?
it has to be the same metal as the ring itself. otherwise over time, if not immediately...it will be very visible the color difference
hi...what liquid are for diamant?...water?
Let me ask you. How is the process on the same ring but reducing the size from 5 to 4.25? Is it safe for the diamonds casing? The diamonds shouldn't fallout after, right?
hai.... i have a question regarding my engagement ring that has been resized down twice, the shape of the ring is not symmetrical anymore... what should i do, without harming the diamonds attached in the ring?
how is your ring?
I can't believe you don't use boric acid and denatured alcohol before soldering... don't you end up with firescale?
we use both we did not have enough time to include in viedo
you video is 8 minutes long...its part of the process.
I'm curious, what does that mean?
Tony! great you are! :-)
Great Video! Does this work with a bezel stone ring? Or just diamond?
Freaking outstanding!
Nice job sir
Because diamonds can't take any heat?
Interesting, but I would have liked to see more close-ups of the ring.
What was the material he cut to add to the ring? He may have said but I didn't catch it. Thanks anyone.
Jose Leyva no such thing as 24k white. Probably 18k or 14k - but the same material as the ring is made out of. 24k white would be 100% gold and white color. That 24k white alloy is not possible because you have added nothing to make it white.

interesting process, thanks for sharing
awesome!

Craziness!
Amazing!
Amazing!!!
nice
No need to submerse diamonds in water when sizing, I routinely re tip prongs directly over diamonds. Diamonds can take the heat. Sapphires and rubies can as well
Makes me sick watching u cut it lmaso great job btw n thanks for the video
You used a lot of metal just for that small resize. Surely there’s a more cost effective method of resizing?

I can go that in 3 minutes-/ too many steps

What a waist of gold, if you cut the right amount you’ll have less to file down and increase your productivity.

@@annetteveronica4415 seems you get friend suggestions for all the females, not too mention you are writing the exact same phrase to everyone of them.🤔 trolling on a jewelry video is pretty desperate.. good lord.
