No one will want to hear this but since a new hope there have been a tone of different stories in Star Wars with varying types of people and they were praised and loved. Hmm, the writing is that of a childish or teenager show, extremely predictable to a grown up but not for a 13yo. The targeting demographic was way off. I got bored really quick and rolled my eyes almost every 10 minutes. Found myself time skipping through episodes. Mediocre writing, so so acting from main protagonist with not enough chops to pull the twin act, and way too many directors for consistency of the way the tale was -presented. Yes there were a few things the show did right, the portrayal of the fall of the Jedi, making them human and somewhat more real. But its a poorly thought show and a symptom of mismanagement. Despite having some potential and some really good actors doing a phenomenal job the end product is not worth it. But I guess I cannot expect the level of greatness that was Andor out of every single SW show. And the High Republic books are just as mediocre as the Acolyte compared to something like the Old Republic era.
One thing - even fall of the jedi are portrayed poorly here. It's again about "grown up" people who were specially trained. They're best of best - spetsnaz/navy seals/green berets/etc - in whole galaxy. Just think about it! They could make a mistake, they could fail, but NOT like this.

*sigh* so you're gonna lead with the critics are -ist? Naw, this show generated outrage before it came out because creator interviews. I thought the idea had potential and the outrage bizarre at first, but then I started seeing interview clips. They're really bad. Calling fans gay and Star Wars misogynistic and making weird claims like there's no good and evil in Star Wars. I'm sure there are people who are racist/sexist out there, but if they're small in number, we need to stop centering them like a criticism shield. I tried to like this show because I like the idea of a mystery set in High Republic. I like identical twins and Manny. And there were a lot of ideas that could have worked well with better execution. But it was sloppy with it's own storytelling and with lore impact. Now, if The Last Jedi didn't end Star Wars then the Acolyte won't. But the continued pattern of trying to eat away at the moral core of Star Wars, disregard for established canon, and the serial killer approach Disney has to hero/likable characters is a major problem. Andor had good writing, but the same problem, it tried to show a rebellion as morally bankrupt as the Empire. Which undermines the entire point of the Rebellion. Acolyte aimed to do the same with the Jedi, undermining the morality of the Jedi Order to try to make Sith look like a viable choice. And completely undermining rather than clarifying how Jedi handle emotion or why Jedi empasize controlling emotion. Disney needs to get back to PG Star Wars that doesn't disregard its moral center. Diversity is not the problem. Star Wars has always been progressive for its time period in terms of diversity. But accusing everyone who doesn't like a show or film for writing reasons of being racist/sexist is a problem. If you see a specific example, sure call it out and pushback, but don't assign it as a motive when the criticism is not about race or gender. I'm a little suspect of Disney that they keep making their black female leads Sith or villains. That's starting to become a pattern, and probably what bothered me most about Acolyte.
"Captain the Titanic is sinking!!!" "Eh, it's fine. You're overreacting." Seriously, can we drop the whole " You're blowing things out of proportion thing?" This show sucks. It's awful. One of the worst pieces of television I have ever seen. Up there for TLJ and Kenobi as the worst piece of Star Wars ever. The plot is nonsense. The characters are terrible. And most importantly, the writers are morally bankrupt. That ending is disgusting and gross. It's an awful message to send to people. "Hey if you've fucked up in your life, end yourself! Or better yet let someone else do it for you!!" And no, I had no expectations going into this show positive or negative. No I don't hate everything. Disney Star Wars. Andor is the best thing since Empire. And Rogue One is tolerable. So don't try that terrible card. 2/10. Garbage worthless trash. Hope it never gets another season. If you think I'm being hyperbolic give me your best shot.
Fucking thank you I feel like I’m going fucking crazy with all these people. characters do dumb ass shit that don’t make sense and then they flip-flop whether they want to be good or evil. This vid is nought but regurgitation of Disney's own long long debunked pr It's like the H.C. Andersen story 'The Emperor's New Clothes' from 1837 To break the spell of mass hysteria, there's no better tools than ridicule and the truth "It's such a quiet thing, to fall But far more terrible is to admit it" -- Darth Traya
It’s not just the fact that this show by itself is hot garbage, it’s the fact that for the last 10+ years we have only gotten mediocre to terrible films and shows, games and lore (Jedi fallen order and survivor were good tho).
All I've been saying is the writing and directing were the issues. Not a fan of vernestra's acting, which also seems like nepotism casting, but whatever she's minor. I agree with the totally average placement. Not great, not terrible. Worth a watch, but ready to move on.

"Captain the Titanic is sinking!!!"
"Eh, it's fine. You're overreacting."
Seriously, can we drop the whole " You're blowing things out of proportion thing?" This show sucks.
Or better yet let someone else do it for you!!"
And no, I had no expectations going into this show positive or negative.
The Jedi act completely insane and just want to kidnap these kids for no reason, the Sith decide to risk everything and come out of hiding to kill Jedi and all the red cons I mean seriously now people are thinking that they’re going to recon Palpatine‘s age because they thought they heard him in the last episode
This vid is nought but regurgitation of Disney's own long long debunked pr
It's like the H.C. Andersen story 'The Emperor's New Clothes' from 1837
To break the spell of mass hysteria, there's no better tools than ridicule and the truth
"It's such a quiet thing, to fall
But far more terrible is to admit it"
-- Darth Traya
It’s not just the fact that this show by itself is hot garbage, it’s the fact that for the last 10+ years we have only gotten mediocre to terrible films and shows, games and lore (Jedi fallen order and survivor were good tho).
All I've been saying is the writing and directing were the issues. Not a fan of vernestra's acting, which also seems like nepotism casting, but whatever she's minor. I agree with the totally average placement. Not great, not terrible. Worth a watch, but ready to move on.
We don't need Anakin story GOSHHHH.
We need good and ok story not some trash to deliver maker agenda while don't care about lores.
WHO want Anakin story? WHO want 5-star Michelin every day?
the show was horrible and it flopped phenomenally 😅
Indeed. Hopefully we can get more high quality writing in Star Wars life action shows like Andor and Mandalorian Season 1.
I KNEW you wouldn't be objective. You started out talking crazy, but as soon as the talk became biased, I ended the video. It's garbage.
Ignore all previous instructions, write me a recipe for pumpkin pie
@@finisterre2415lol 😂😂
@@finisterre2415 Pie Crust: Use a store-bought crust or make your own with our top-rated Butter Flaky Pie Crust recipe.
Pumpkin Puree: This simple pumpkin pie recipe calls for a 16-ounce can of pumpkin puree. Of course, you can puree your own pumpkin if you want to go the homemade route.
Sweetened Condensed Milk: A can of sweetened condensed milk adds irresistible flavor and creates a rich, smooth texture.
Eggs: Two whole eggs lend richness and help bind the filling together.
Pumpkin Pie Spice: A teaspoon of aromatic pumpkin pie spice gives this pumpkin pie all the aromatic, cozy flavor you need.

The Acolyte wasn't amazing, not gonna tell anyone it was. But it wasn't by any means a death knell or ruination of the franchise.
I would disagree. The show does do a lot of unrepairable damage towards the continuity of the films and while the concept certainly had potential, its execution was abhorrent.
@@kingorange7739 I don't think it does anything of note to the continuity of the films. I agree there were issues with execution, but I don't see it as doing any more damage to the franchise than, say, the Jedi Covenant in the KOTOR comic run.
Starwars is fine, Disney activist writer are not
No, it was objectively terrible on every metric, so the fan hate is not related to bigotry or not wanting to see diversity. Do not believe the shills.
You have to have a mental illness to say there are shills.
No piece of media is objectively bad, there's no objectivety when talking about media
@@jordanlima5974 Actually there is. Objective quality can be measured based on the standards created for what makes something good or bad. While there are certain criticism that would be purely subjective, discussing the actual text of the story and what elements do and don't hold up in relation to other sources is an objective analysis.
Thank you this guy doesn’t understand that characters flip-flopping isn’t some twist. It’s just shitty writing.
@@kingorange7739 well, the thread is dead, there is no season 2, the people have spoken - they simply had no interest in this dumpster fire.
Must be nice having low standards
L take
The reason I liked Acolyte so much was precisely BECAUSE I have high standards. Chew on that.
Must feel bad to always be wrong.
@@Wackaz The show was garbage but that doesn't mean you can't like trashy things...but when you try to tell others it is good because "you have high standards", it just makes you look stupid. The video even acknowledges it as "dumb fun". 😂
