    Wow that seal looks way way wayyy better than the industry common widely copied rubber ring that pops out.

    About 15 years ago I invested a fortune in the C & F Design Series boxes. I probably have 20 by now. I love the Tacky Boxes but I can;t fix what ain't broke.

    The large size looks like it would fit perfectly in my chest pack, no more trying to remember which box I need to bring if they're all in one box!

      I keep 3 identically organized fly boxes. Imagine losing your one box all your flies are in?

      @@stevenm6301 that would basically bankrupt me lmao

      I’ve thought about that, but I actually prefer more smaller boxes. That way there’s one for panfish, one for emergers, one for trout dries etc.
      That system also gives me the flexibility where I can load a mag box with flies that I’ll almost certainly be using on a given day.
      I’m pretty tempted to get one of these for my backpack though

    Y’all should do a video on dirty running water, was trout fishing past weekend and smoked them on a yearly trip and a big rain hit two days in and caught three the rest of the weekend

    Feels like the magnets are for securing a loose fly, not for keeping the box closed. The vacuum caused by the seal appears to be keeping the box closed.

      @Madriveroutfitters  3 года назад +1

      Sorry John, these boxes do feature a magnetic closure. Not at all for securing a loose fly.

      @@Madriveroutfitters I believe the magnets are for the leaf not to keep the box closed but to keep the sleeve from slinging freely.

    Thanks for the awesome review, Brian! Just picked one up. A few features I don't like: the logo/front is on the wrong side (inserts face the wrong way if opening right to left like a book), also, the leaf should have 180 degrees of movement - having it only open about 20 degrees on the left side makes it tough to pick some of the smaller flies out. It would be nice if this went 90 degrees in either direction, not just one side. And last, would be great if they made a leaf option that has less space in between rows and slots to accommodate smaller flies (maybe even full-length vertical slits??) - there are some huge gaps of wasted space if you have flies smaller than a 14.
    Just griping in case you have any contacts to pass along to at Fishpond/Tacky :). Again, thank you for the wonderful review that helped me make the purchase!

    Will the large Pescador box fit in the front pockets of a Simms Guide Vest?

      You’d have to check with the folks at the shop on that. We don’t have that intel here. You can email them or call them and they will be happy to help. That’s what they do! Thanks.

    Is there a tether point somewhere along the hinge, or anywhere else so that you can leash it and not worry about losing 1000 or so flies in the drink? That XL box with the leaf looks fantastic, but I want peace of mind to tie it onto something.

    • @Madriveroutfitters
      @Madriveroutfitters  3 года назад +1

      It appears to not have any such a tether point. Feel free to contact the shop directly though with questions as they may know more.
