@@angiebeck592 What I meant WAS, this song was done by Joe Walsh as a SOLO ARTIST without the Eagles for the movie "The Warriors". It was then later RE-RECORDED with the Eagles and put onto their album "THE LONG RUN". You can check the facts if you want. Peace.

This video of the EAGLES singing "In The City" is an absolute classic. Joe's singing, and his slide guitar playing, Henley's hitting those drums with an ATTITUDE, Tim's harmonies with Glenn and Don Felder, pure heaven ✌️💙🎶
This song has so much texture, it's perfect. You can hear and make out all of the instruments being played while listening to them being played together with harmonic perfection. Along with their literally angelic backing vocals, it sends shivers up my spine every time.
Good dad, don't forget to watch the movie The Warriors with him, along with all great 80's actions movies, that way he doesn't grow up to be a confused sissy.
Such a hard working group. Everyone has a job to do and does it tremendously! Timothy's harmonising is just perfect. I love this song. Wouldn't it be great if we could go back in time to revisit our musical heroes!
You know you are something special when you have the Eagles be your back up band. One of my top three Joe Walsh songs, Walk Away, Life of Illusion and In The City
Hi i just wanted to thank you again for being so supportive and following me on my Journey. I love inspiring and encouraging others. People like you help me to keep showing up! Hope you are having an amazing day.
This song always makes me kind of sad. That line "when you're down that's where you'll stay" always gets to me. How many unfortunate souls have experienced the truth of that statement?

Somewhere out there on that horizon Out beyond the neon lights I know there must be somethin' better but there's nowhere else in sight It's survival in the city When you live from day to day City streets don't have much pity When you're down, that's where you'll stay In the city, oh, oh In the city I was born here in the city With my back against the wall Nothing grows, and life ain't very pretty No one's there to catch you when you fall Somewhere out on that horizon Faraway from the neon sky I know there must be somethin' better And I can't stay another night In the city, oh, oh. In the city
Uno de esos temazos que se te quedan en la cabeza, como born to be wild (Stephen wolf) Black Betty (Ram Jam) etc... Con los que crecimos en cuerpo y alma
Exactly, this isn’t an Eagles song! Joe wrote this song for The Warriors soundtrack. Later the same year he re-recorded it with the Eagles for The Long Run album.
Dunno why this didn't crack the Top 40......................easily one of their best singles! (Pretty sure it "bubbled under" Billboard's Top 40 at the time).

Man oh man. I can't help but wonder if the Eagles would have been HALF as successful as they were without Joe Walsh. Him and Don Henley. No disrespect to Frye, Felder, and Schmidt. I hope y'all get what I'm saying.
I love Joe Walsh!
If you don't think of Coney Island and see the Warriors walking off into the distance when you hear this song. Well then...
Riight?!
The painted faces and baseball bats is the dominating image that comes to mind for me.
That was an awesome movie💓
I'm walkin with em'. A couple of my bros too, lookin mean.
I completely agree!
You Warriors are good… real good. “The Best” 🔥
Joe Walsh one of his best performances.
Straight facts
Amazing song, no words to describe this state of the art.
I agree 😊
Love this song, first time I heard it was the end of the Warriors, I went and bought the soundtrack album on vinyl, still have it 42 years later.
I saw this in the movies in NYC, greatest movie ever!
You are an amazing person and a super star Mr. Blues Dude.
that's so awesome
Same. Caught enough of it that I had to own it. Such a great song.
One of Walsh's finest! Even better with the Eagles backing him up.
Interesting you say that.
Joe gave this song to the Eagles.
… and I don’t know what you mean about the Eagles backing him up. They’re a group, all of them sing. You should check them out.

Joe Walsh what a Legend.
The song, the movie, that era! Good times! If you know….you know! 👍👍
Saw the Warriors as a young child, life was never the same. Times were better back then, tough, but better.
Wow, never seen this in 42 years...I've seen the videos for Long Run and Can't Tell You Why, but never this...Great!
my favorite Joe Walsh song!
Love the movie and this song throws me back to being a kid..
Can You Dig It?!!!

I love this song. Personally, I think it's way underrated. In my opinion, it's in the top three best Eagle Songs.
What are the other two?

A true work of art ⭐
That slide work has ALL the feels
You know you are something special when you have the Eagles be your back up band. One of my top three Joe Walsh songs, Walk Away, Life of Illusion and In The City
This was actually on the Eagle's Long Run album. It wasn't Joe Walsh solo
Life of Illusion sounds quite a bit like the Stones' Street Fighting Man
A wonderful classic.
An Eagles fav for sure! Rock on forever!!!
An underrated jewel from The Eagles
It's not really an Eagles song, it's a Walsh solo song, but like many Joe Walsh songs they use them at Eagles concerts.
😲 This Song Is STILL RELEVANT 🙏❤️💪 TO Us All 🙏🙏🙏
I see Joe Vitale back there banging some drums. Great music JW and JV
I remember that song. Too top. The movie too. I love you Miss you
Killer!!!! They rock.
THE WARRIORS FOREVER ⭐
Thank you for posting. I feel alive again, seeing these guys playing and singing together, great song, wicked slide. 🎸

Love this song. Probably one of their best.
My favorite!!!
It doesn’t get much better than this 👍
that is a Joe Walsh song! he wrote it and sang it prior to being with the eagles
great song
Warriors,,, Come Out To Playyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
This song always makes me kind of sad. That line "when you're down that's where you'll stay" always gets to me. How many unfortunate souls have experienced the truth of that statement?

Great classic American song
Gli Eagles, splendidi, splendidi anni quelli ❤❤❤❤
"It's survival in the city, when you live from day to day. City streets don't have much pity, when you're down that's where you'll stay."
Classic!
Somewhere out there on that horizon
Out beyond the neon lights
I know there must be somethin' better
but there's nowhere else in sight
It's survival in the city
When you live from day to day
City streets don't have much pity
When you're down, that's where you'll stay
In the city, oh, oh
In the city
I was born here in the city
With my back against the wall
Nothing grows, and life ain't very pretty
No one's there to catch you when you fall
Somewhere out on that horizon
Faraway from the neon sky
I know there must be somethin' better
And I can't stay another night
In the city, oh, oh.
In the city
Says it exactly how I feel
This Joe's most unique 'look' that he only kept for one or two albums, and if you didn't know it was him, you could easily not recognize him.
This is his best look if you ask me !
The Best Look Ever! He looks like a Porn Actor from the 70s.
@@javierruizcueto2389 well, it was the 70's right?
Joe Walsh is the best thing that ever happened to the Eagles, prove me wrong..
Hell yea
Warriorrrrrrrs.....come out and playyyyayyyyyyyyy!!!!!!

EPIC ! ! !
Awesome song…Joe Walsh
Big Walsh fan, not a Eagles fan. I will listen to this song have for over 40 years it's Joe.
Exactly, this isn’t an Eagles song! Joe wrote this song for The Warriors soundtrack. Later the same year he re-recorded it with the Eagles for The Long Run album.
@@tubeyouall2 Correct!!!!!! The Eagles have nothing to do with this song, they are damn lucky that Joe let them put it on their record.
We're going to have to bop our way back to Coney.
Completely Joe Walsh song. The Eagles just play with him on it.
Love this song to dead!
Have you watched them do this song lately? Live at Forum, Inglewood 2018 version is the best version I ever heard
When Joe replaced Bernie Leadon is when the Eagles really SOARED And Bernie was a great artist not knocking him!
I always say the Joe didn't join the Eagles as much as the Eagles joined Joe Walsh.........Joe made them a super group.
Sorry about that Warriors. I guess all we can do is just play you a song...
This one's for Cleon, Ajax and Fox.
You warriors are good.....
Real Good!
*_-THE BEST-_*
Caaaaaan Yooooou dig it!
what has me laughing is when I watch the movie is when the D.J. put the needle on the record...lol I know today's kids are like What is that?...lol
Said the Foxy chick with RICH lips!!!
My two favorite voices, Walsh, Belew.
Dunno why this didn't crack the Top 40......................easily one of their best singles! (Pretty sure it "bubbled under" Billboard's Top 40 at the time).

This song should have been on JW solo album 'But Seriously...' not on the TLR. This is JW solo.
The best song from this album in my opinion with I cant tell you why a close second

What an awesome song that was recorded when half of the band couldn't stand each other
Epic.....
Fuck yeah
Warriors..."come out and play!"
If i could only make it to Fresh Pond Road or Metropolitan Avenue
So close to the truth, the way things are.
When was this video originally recorded? Is this from when they were actually making the album?
That is my understanding?
Not sure what the date was!
Yes these were promo videos shot to promote The Long Run album in 1979. Lip synching and miming to the final tracks.

Who’s the bass players? Anyone know his name?
They could have done heavy metal take a ride if they hadn't had the beef with Felder......
Don Henley and Timothy B Schmidt sang back up to Heavy Metal, Take a Ride which wasn’t released until 1981, 2 years after The Long Run.
