Those of us that were teenagers when this came out it has a special place in our hearts and it takes us back to a certain time that can never be recreated, or duplicate . To be able to be that kid again, to be able to live those days once more would be awesome which doesn't really say it cause there are no words to describe it just how special that time was .
We got out of the theater after seeing this movie for the first time and were sidekicking parking meters and shadow boxing. We were on top of the world. Those were the times.
I was 8 years old... Just watching the world unfold... The legend of The Warriors was huge... I am from Massachusetts, 50 miles from Boston. Unfortunately, there was a murder as a result of gang violence at the cinema.. It was devastating news.. kid got killed for watching a movie... The movie has forever evoked a feeling of taboo in me, in a way that speaks danger... I was instantly intrigued when I finally became old enough to actually see it on home video.. Wish there would be an Anniversary cinema re release...
Was so happy to see this film in the cinema when I was 15 years old. Must have been 1979 or 1980. I’ve never watched it again as I’m a bit worried I see it way too differently as a middle aged man. As a spotty adolescent these Warriors were so cool. Memories.
One of the most underrated movies ever, I hope that they never remake this movie, it’s fine just as it is and it brings back some old memories from my childhood, can you dig it
Hiya Chris. There was a replicate called Bronx Warriors that came out pretty soon after, but I wouldn't advise watching it. The original is unsurpassed as a teen gang movie, and will remain so. 🗡️
Evidently the filmmaker began his career as a comic book artist. So he naturally brought a lot of that to the set. It shows, and it fits this movie so well. Played a big part in making it what it was, and is now.
I'm 56 now, tell you I use to laugh with my Late folks, about bones aching they use to say. It will come to you. It bloody has, more so in my joints and just waiting for my results from hospital.
One of my all time favorites! My old man took the entire family to watch it with him back in the day! The poster hung on the wall in our dining room for years!
This movie has followed me through every phase of my (over 50 years) of life. From the great actors, to filming, to music, to the writing... Freakin' inspiring. Go Joe Walsh!!!
Grew up near Coney island in 70's. Made the movie even more relatable and so powerful. Serious nostalgia for 70's Brooklyn. That concluding song is so appropriate and fitting. Caps this incredible movie so perfectly.
this was the perfect song to end that movie with. I LOVE the ending with this song playing, the Warriors are walking away, and the ending credits are going up/movie making perfection.
@joewalsh6633 Anytime, Joe! I was glad that I could find it to put on here after someone else did. Someone asked if there was a version of the song with the movie and you playing. Heck, I got the DVD,CD,VIDEO and Vinyl (? Spelling, it's late LOL)! LOVE IT ❤️ 😍 IT Hope all is well!
I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR 40 YEARS, FIRST OF ALL GOOD EVENING ✋(AT LEAST HERE IN ITALY IT'S EVENING) THE 80'S WERE UNIQUE, MUSICALLY SPEAKING, SOMETHING DECENT ABOUT THE 90'S, BUT THEN THE MUSIC, THE SONGS, THE SINGERS CHANGED FOR THE WORSE, BELIEVE ME, BACK TO THE MOVIE, MASTERPIECE GREETINGS FROM ITALY
Shoutout to my pops who passed in 2021. This was one of his favorite movies, he would always watch this and Id be right next to him, every. Single. Time. I love you Dad, im no longer in the city and im off doing bigger and better things.
I grew up in Hells Kitchen the Westies was the big gang. To give them a compliment they did watch out for the neighborhood. My group of friends were our own entity and trouble makers. 1979 15 years old and the warriors movie comes out. What a great depiction of NYC and the unground night life. Some people would not understand NYC unless you lived it. Good times, many memories. Joined another gang a few years later the NYPD. The streets taught me how to be a great cop and how to treat people. 40 years later I can’t believe the memories. How a movie or song can bring you back to a time. A lot of my friends are dead and I’m amazed I made it! Enjoy your youth 🎉
I remember playing the warrior game on ps2 years ago...but never take a change to look at the movie. Thanks for bringing this up. I probably will take this chance to see this movie.
Awesome movie. But I wanted to talk about the game on ps2, that game was so awesome but I loved how when I was a kid I never seen fighting mechanics like that in a game truly great game.
Love this movie. When it first came out ,real gangs were fighting at places where ever they played. Now the movie is a cult classic . Still love it today !!
David Harris "Cochise" died of cancer on 10/27/24. He had many roles over the years. The Warriors is one of my fave movies, I watch it at least once a year. I used to tease my sister with a line "Cathy (not her real name) come out to play ay, she would always laugh. Rest In Peace brother journey well to that realm beyond the stars. "You done good real good." 🙏
I love this movie. Can I say: The mother of all movies? No. But one of the best movies ever. It reminds me on my youth! I feel the spirit! Warriors come out to play!
Think u can listen to the Soundtrack album on Spotify but it’s a good listen as far as Soundtrack albums with songs goes. There was a time for a long time where it was the norm, even to licence a bunch of Artists to provide original material. Yet another thing that’s vanished, like intrigue, thoughtful changing colour palate, establishing shots, characters making journeys, a sense of place...still alive in Indie Cinema tho
That's awesome and depressing at the same time. Your generation has missed out on so much good music it makes me so sad. Anything before auto-tune, go back and LISTEN. 70s 80s.
One of the reasons this song has such a big impact at the end is because there was no music for quite a while, just a lot of great action. So when it does start playing there is a huge emotional impact of completion and a kickass song.
If you are a boy and a man, this stories is about how much fun a life without thinking about taxes or step up carrer. The story of this film is very touching and always reminds me of my childhood friends and teenagers where we always adventure and do various things without worrying about the harshness of adult life. Youth is the best time of a human being. A time when amazing stories happen and this time many people want to repeat it again when they can turn back time.
During High School in Italy we study The Odyssey by Omero, the Ancient Greek poem about the adventures of Ulysses (Odysseus) and his companions while getting back to Ithaca, his home island and reign. The Warriors is the modern version of Odyssey, equally epic: Swan is Ulysses, they now use the Metro instead of boats… A lot of similarities and many differences too, of course. The Lizards vs. The Sirens!
i remember seeing this at knutsford civic hall when i was 13 . went with a couple of friends and when we walked out half of our school walked out too. those were the days for sure. great film and great memories
Somewhere out there on that horizon Out beyond the neon lights I know there must be somethin' better But there's nowhere else in sight It's survival in the city When you live from day to day City streets don't have much pity When you're down, that's where you'll stay In the city, oh, oh. In the city I was born here in the city With my back against the wall Nothing grows, and life ain't very pretty No one's there to catch you when you fall Somewhere out on that horizon Faraway from the neon sky I know there must be somethin' better And I can't stay another night In the city, oh, oh. In the city
I saw The Eagles in Liverpool 2022 and they played an amazing extended version of this song. I could have left the gig after that, my evening was complete.
The art of cinema is that a movie can make you root for person(s) that you would not in real life, as in gang members. That's what makes this movie a work of art, not just "entertainment ".
Growing up "in the city" NYC (1970s ,1980s Bronx) that is, just makes this wonderful film hit differently. Interestingly, The Warriors was not that far from reality. When I was a kid, I remember seeing gangs with vests with their gang names sewed on their backs, wandering around the NYC streets. Some had motorcycles others had bicycles. Most just walked the streets or rode the bus and subways at night. Some relaxed by their hangouts, hung out at the pinball machine hall, pool hall, or video game room (that was the early 80s) or stood on the corner admiring the young ladies or spray painted their gang names and symbols on building walls and subway lines. Other times they were setting up to battle another gang for turf or "turf wars". Some even got killed over a woman! It was scary at times, yet very interesting as well. To me, These were large "families" associating together , protecting each other and also what was their turf.,, you know... what they owned. You were fine if you minded your own business and treated them with respect. Do the opposite and you had problems. Their main issues were rival gangs who started trouble, tried to mess with their women or were very disrespectful in other ways. Just dont get caught in the middle. 70s, 80s NYC was a very dark, grimy place yet an interesting place with lots of character... real ppl who were tough skinned and knew how to take a joke and speak their mind. and to think...The Warriors depicted all that energy into an hour and 30 minutes. Check out those deleted scenes in the movie. They have websites dedicated to showing them. I think they add power and feeling to the movie! Great film. Will always be loved by many!
My 35 year old daughter and her cousin, who is 33, didn’t know what to watch one evening. I suggested this, they were drawn into it and now they’re fans. They’re part of the cult now
Me and my wife and kids visited Manhattan over the summer. I made sure that during that trip we spent one day riding a subway to Coney Island. Stepping out of that train and into the bright light of the day reminded me of the film's ending (something I always wanted to do since I first saw this film as a kid when it came out). I bought a Warriors Coney Island shirt that is now my favorite to wear when hanging with my bros.

The PS2 game was cool. There was a prequel part where you got to play as Cleon.
@@WorldCupWillieI saw the movie as a kid in the early 2000s the game made me love the movie that much more
What about da game, should de remake de game.
Isn't anyone going to say how epic the cinematography is on this film?
Each shot in different camera angles are just phenomenal
Evidently the filmmaker began his career as a comic book artist. So he naturally brought a lot of that to the set. It shows, and it fits this movie so well. Played a big part in making it what it was, and is now.
Agree. Alot of modern films are really visually dark and murky. In the warriors even the night scenes are full of colour .
Yes, it's True 😹
Especially, because on those days there wasn't much technology as today! 🤗🤟💪😘🌹
You did.
You're right on!!
This movie will always make me think of my brother. Rip. Martin, I Love u, miss you more with every passing day.
I remember the day I first watch as a teen in New Hampshire
The greatest gang survival movie of all time ever ❤
I miss the streets. I miss my friends, my youth. I'm still young, but time is flying.
I know exactly what are you talkin' about
faster than you realize!
I feel this ... all the time! I'm so grateful to be a 70's/80's kid! I miss it so❣️❣️
I'm 33 and was only a min ago I was watching this with my dad as a kid
I'm 56 now, tell you I use to laugh with my Late folks, about bones aching they use to say. It will come to you. It bloody has, more so in my joints and just waiting for my results from hospital.
One of my all time favorites! My old man took the entire family to watch it with him back in the day! The poster hung on the wall in our dining room for years!
That's actually pretty cool! I love this movie too!
Who still reppin tha WARRIORS!?
Oh yes, just got finish watching it 5-28
I love this version of this song oh man.
Grew up with it, and They Live.
Oh yes

Well said
Joe Walsh is an underrated musician/singer/songwriter. This 🎵 and 🎸 👍
This version of the song blows away the regular album version, IMHO.
He's not underrated where I come from ....
@@stephenpain9236 He is fully appreciated in Alabama
Thinks he is dead - from Eagles
@@oleriis-vestergaard6844 Nope, they have concerts this year.
This movie has followed me through every phase of my (over 50 years) of life. From the great actors, to filming, to music, to the writing... Freakin' inspiring. Go Joe Walsh!!!
Indeeeed
All we can do is play you a song 🎵
Grew up near Coney island in 70's. Made the movie even more relatable and so powerful. Serious nostalgia for 70's Brooklyn. That concluding song is so appropriate and fitting. Caps this incredible movie so perfectly.
And nope they can't can't remake this film. Such a classic ❤😊
this was the perfect song to end that movie with. I LOVE the ending with this song playing, the Warriors are walking away, and the ending credits are going up/movie making perfection.
Thanks for your love and support ♥️❤️
Yes, without a doubt. This is one of those films where the soundtrack film is perfect for the atmosphere they were trying to achieve.
LOVE IT ❤️ 😍 IT
Hope all is well!
Movie was ahead of its time, born in 07 and this shit real dope.
No it isn't ahead of its time , I lived in this era and believe me it's how it was back then !
October 14-23 having a drink 🥃 this is and always be the best movie of all time. Damm how I miss the days. Who else is out there remembering the days
Joe Walsh,,,,,DAMN!!! He is so underrated, One of the most talented singer -songwriters musicians ever.
Been here since 78 my claim to this city stands!peace to all passed in our crew.
Brings back great memories. It was always shown on HBO around Halloween. Just a classic.
Joe's Guitar is an Unstoppable Force!!
He's ok
What a time, what a time. If only we knew how bad music was going to get after the 80s we would have appreciated it even more at the time.
I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR 40 YEARS, FIRST OF ALL GOOD EVENING ✋(AT LEAST HERE IN ITALY IT'S EVENING) THE 80'S WERE UNIQUE, MUSICALLY SPEAKING, SOMETHING DECENT ABOUT THE 90'S, BUT THEN THE MUSIC, THE SONGS, THE SINGERS CHANGED FOR THE WORSE, BELIEVE ME, BACK TO THE MOVIE, MASTERPIECE GREETINGS FROM ITALY
one of my favourite ever movies. takes me back. WHOPPER riff and tune
Way way underrated, it stood out as great when first released.
Backing vocals are incredible.
Awesome voices
I loved and love this movie. It’s so damn epic. And moving. It holds up.
Probably one of the most underrated films ever. But to those of us in the know, the GREATEST 😎😎😎😎
My favorite movie of all time... they never looked for a fight, but never walked away from one either, and they were all time bad asses
The warriors is one of the best movies of all time, and Joe Walsh is so amazing, he's from Kansas and that's where I'm from😊😊😊
I like Kansas.
Brilliant film and music...
Takes me back
Shoutout to my pops who passed in 2021.
The warriors and the Wanderers were crazy fantastic movies. Superb.
One of the coolest movies of all time. This is the Eagles best song. I was in High School when this came out. Shout out Huntington Beach CA
O Eagles tem muitas outras musicas boas !
Blast from the past. Love this movie.
Saw it last week on tv 📺
I remember playing the warrior game on ps2 years ago...but never take a change to look at the movie. Thanks for bringing this up. I probably will take this chance to see this movie.
Do it you will not regret trust me
It's a classic.
Awesome movie. But I wanted to talk about the game on ps2, that game was so awesome but I loved how when I was a kid I never seen fighting mechanics like that in a game truly great game.
@@kasta669 that’s cuz it was Rockstar lol
Walter Hill is one of the best directors from the 80’s.
Mos def. Southern Comfort ..the long riders. 48 hrs .......
The point of going to the movies has always been entertainment. Emotional, fun, youthful, thought provoking, and just plain enjoyable. A must watch.
One of my all time fave movies. I was 7 when it was released lol.

Love this movie. When it first came out ,real gangs were fighting at places where ever they played.
Now the movie is a cult classic .
Still love it today !!
This film a can watch over and over again you cant touch this film classic
David Harris "Cochise" died of cancer on 10/27/24. He had many roles over the years. The Warriors is one of my fave movies, I watch it at least once a year. I used to tease my sister with a line "Cathy (not her real name) come out to play ay, she would always laugh. Rest In Peace brother journey well to that realm beyond the stars. "You done good real good." 🙏
They are all immortall the warroirs for us gen x
I’ll love this movie forever
the song brings back the movie which brings back memories of the fights my childhood rocked
Watched this when it first came out on a whim. Had no idea what it was about. One of my all time favorites.
I remember sneaking downstairs at 3 am to watch the movie on HBO. My parents didn’t allow me to watch it because I was too young. Best movie ever
Now I gotta grab my DVD and watch this great flick 😊
I love this movie. Can I say: The mother of all movies? No. But one of the best movies ever. It reminds me on my youth! I feel the spirit! Warriors come out to play!
Can you dig it?
@@xenosaga1348 I can dig it, and I can say: You Warriors are good, real good! Answer "The best"!
I never heard this Epic Song before discover today. So Epic and Authentic! Wonderful Warriors.
😳😳😳
Joe Walsh from the eagles
Many young people never heard 100s on these great songs
I saw this movie in Chicago in 1978 while attending school at Great Lakes, IL. This brought back memories... Thanks for posting.
Michael Beck and James Remar were great in this movie.
I guess the people who thumbed down on this just couldn't dig it.
And they WEREN'T in heavy outfits!
I see what you did there 👍
That Is why we are here
I can dig it
I'm a huge JW fan. I've never seen this. Plus the audio is different. Thank you
Remember seeing Warriors in theater. Freshman year HS Awesome!
this video is so perfect.
The Sirens!
The closer you get, the farther away you are.
One of my most favorite movies ever.
Same The director was working on a reboot when he died. What I read it was going to be huge.
i remember seeing this at knutsford civic hall when i was 13 . went with a couple of friends and when we walked out half of our school walked out too. those were the days for sure. great film and great memories
Goosebumps great movie i was 8 when it came out 💯
The best movie and sound tracks ever made hands down ☝🏼🔥
Somewhere out there on that horizon
Out beyond the neon lights
I know there must be somethin' better
But there's nowhere else in sight
It's survival in the city
When you live from day to day
City streets don't have much pity
When you're down, that's where you'll stay
In the city, oh, oh.
In the city
I was born here in the city
With my back against the wall
Nothing grows, and life ain't very pretty
No one's there to catch you when you fall
Somewhere out on that horizon
Faraway from the neon sky
I know there must be somethin' better
And I can't stay another night
In the city, oh, oh.
In the city

I saw The Eagles in Liverpool 2022 and they played an amazing extended version of this song. I could have left the gig after that, my evening was complete.
Takes me back to my teenage days. VSH video hire. Great movie.
I remember watching that movie as a young teenager.
Incredible music.. (soundtrack)👌
The art of cinema is that a movie can make you root for person(s) that you would not in real life, as in gang members. That's what makes this movie a work of art, not just "entertainment ".
Man... Thats sooo goood. Ooohh baby😮😮😮
Excellent video! Very well done. Encapsulates the whole movie in four minutes; very cool!
A fitting song for this movie. A kick ass version of this tune. Joe Walsh is awesome !!!
"Warriors come out to play" and the Eagles..flipping awesome!
Offspring does a song called "Come Out And Play" that I think is based on this movie!
Technically Joe Walsh. Then The Eagles rerecorded it.
@@TimDecker989and the eagles version sucked
@@jerrywoods4066 completely agree! Walsh's version is a masterpiece. The Eagles version blows. Too overproduced.

Top shelf, what a great movie & music.
My 35 year old daughter and her cousin, who is 33, didn’t know what to watch one evening. I suggested this, they were drawn into it and now they’re fans. They’re part of the cult now
Awesome movie. Great memories. I just hope they don't try to make a remake of this film.
The song fits the ending so perfectly. Gotta be one of the greatest outros ever.
The movie 🎬 was amazing and fantastic, but it shouldn't take away from this masterpiece, literally!!!

greatest ending song for a movie ....period
Me and my wife and kids visited Manhattan over the summer. I made sure that during that trip we spent one day riding a subway to Coney Island. Stepping out of that train and into the bright light of the day reminded me of the film's ending (something I always wanted to do since I first saw this film as a kid when it came out). I bought a Warriors Coney Island shirt that is now my favorite to wear when hanging with my bros.
I did the same thing years back.
Im here in 🤑🥶🇮🇱
I really miss it
