  • One of the most amazing introductions to a great movie. The Warriors was released in 1979, my overall intent is to give you a way to hear and visualize the full intro. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. My favorite part is at 1:35 when they are boarding the train.

Never realized how beautiful the cinematography in this movie is. Could have been a big, popular masterpiece if it had more budget. But still, it's position as a cult classic is befitting enough.

This movie needs no reboot or sequel. It's great the way it is. Please Hollywood, have a heart.

I love how the music perfectly captures the transition from late '70s disco to early '80s synth-pop/new wave...

I love how the gangs respect the subway and pay for train tickets 😂

The fact that they reprised the actors in game, and that they delivered their lines better there than in the movie shows that this film was their first real acting gig.

I can't actually think of a better intro for a movie: the music, the gangs, the little snippets of dialogue, even the way the credits are presented are all totally cool as fuck and set up the film perfectly. Absolute classic

I was in a gang when this movie came out. We were more like the orphans, a bunch of white trash fatherless bastards running the streets. There were thirteen of us who followed one dude who we looked up to. We got ourselves bluejean vests and had the Baden Boys written in black ink. Five of us ended up in the service. Three Marines, one Army and one Navy. I would have to say most of these guys ended up dead or in prison. Back then, they allowed eight grade dropouts in the Army. I dropped out of tenth grade and got in Marine Corps. The thing about being in a gang is that you think you're protected. That's not true. Even in a gang, you're a victim. This movie was like what you would see in a Hollywood movie. In reality, time moves slow, and you have to think and stress overall. I love this movie, and I can relate to some of the scenes that are close to the heart. That time is part of my past that people would not understand that was possible. I was able to leave that lifestyle and be saved from being a victim to life's ill fortunes.

You ever get on the NYC subway at night and have this playing in your headphones. It hits right.

Lived in coney island in the late 70's. back then, real Rough neighborhood Still bad today. The warriors logo painted on the building faclng the beach was there then. The building was a salt water bath house named Stauche's baths. My grandmother, long gone, would go there in the 30's and 40's. my mom too. I'm 74.

The train solo shot is so great, it drives the entire plot. They start by getting on the train to go to the meeting and the entire movie they do everything they possibly can to get on a train back to Coney. Love this movie, the score is criminally underrated

Cleon must've been a real badass if Ajax obeyed him. I would have love to see a build-up to this seen, to see how the Warriors got their famous rep.
