I built two of these kits already in both ways and love the red i love the blower and motor in this kit its lerfect scale wise and looks realistic not just a gew blocks pf plastic like some kits have for blowers revell is stepping up thier game and almost up there with tamiya especially the german kits
I read your comments and had to butt in lol. I keep going back to spray cans cuz of convenience and EVERY TIME I regret it. There is absolutely no comparison vs an airbrush like the Paasche H series airbrush . Last week I got lazy and can sprayed testors # 1835 Lime Ice. I did not like the results and wet sanded the coat and repainted it with a .25 oz bottle of testors in the same color in a airbrush with a 2 to 1 ratio of paint and lacquer thinner. The results were night and day. Yes, its extra work cleaning the airbrush and bottles but it is worth it. I not only use testors cans for convenience but the availability of a particular color of their paint limits you to using an airbrush unless you want to "De-can" a spray can into a airbrush bottle which is messy and a pain. The CEO's of testors are selfish ASSHOLES for discontinuing most of their bottled paints, especially the Metalizer line. I hope Revell is as good and the availability is the same as Testors.
Just bought the kit after watching your video. I Amin Canada and paid nearly $50 for it. I was quite dismayed when I saw it was made in China. I have been away from modelling for years so maybe this is the norm. Many decades ago I built a Revell SR-71 made in Germany. The kit was garbage and I needed tons of body putty to complete it. This roadster is my first Revell kit since then and from the comments it seems to be a good one.
i just picked this up. got back into the hobby after 25+ years. i think im gonna try chipping like i did with my WWII armor. lay some rust and patina on a powder blue rod.
Just a simple tip, use the rear axle mounts that are on the frame to locate the axle and springs, but do not glue the axle to frame and then after the springs and trailing arms are set cut the mounts off. This will let the axle look like it could move up and down.
I did this kit last year. It is a great quick build. I love the options and the color you chose for your rendition. Subscribed and ready for part two when it comes. 😎👍🏾
Ya know man. In car shows I have seen Chevy's with Ford motors and Ford's with Chevy motors. So I guess it, to your point it doesn't matter really it doesn't matter, it's all what you like. Great video. I really like that car. it is really cool man.
I did the high boy version of this kit, and painte it white with the flame decals from the '32 5 window coupe. Red interior, used the seat decals that came with the car. I used the steelie wheels, painted red. With trim rigs and hubcaps, whirewalls. I think I used a nicer set of headers from another kit, I'm not sure. I may have used the ones that came with the car. I wish you could see it. It came out nice.
If you use the blown motor with the roadster body, you'll have to 'adjust' the front of the frame where the blower belt goes. Test fit first. Love the kit.
Recently picked up a couple of these when HL had em 40% off, so I'm LOVING this!!! Also, finally just now send a request to join the FB Group (Stephen S.), gonna go watch Part II now 😁
It is a Great kit!!!!! I mix paint the same way....Love the interior and engine / chassis!!! Almost ready to come together. I'll go check out Chris's web site. I'll be watching
What paint did you use to black out the radiator? I'm looking to black out a chrome valve cover and leave the edges of the cooling fins the original chrome. It would be nice to flood the part with paint and then wipe off the excess on the top of the fins and logo to reveal the underlying chrome. Page 3 of the Tamiya Europa Special instructions shows what I'm after - though the instructions say to paint a chrome color on the area that was originally chrome. Thanks.
how do you attach the wheels on that kit? I must be missing pieces or something and my steering linkage doesn't match the directions--did ya see any of these issues? can you explain how the wheels actually attach? the directions sat put a pin into the brake drum but how does the wheel attatch?..the pin doesnt fit into the rim...yet if i made the rim hole bigger the spinner wont fit?? help me brother! --thanks
oh kay!! so im guessing the drums are the back of the wheel that gets glued to rim! thanks for clearing that up lol! never seen that setup before --dont like it! love the channel
@@modelcarvideos5829 i gotta say i really dont understand how the wheels go on this guy ! Im no rookie! been around 20 years and can find a way but there is no way that im not missing something! can u explain how you attach the wheels?the pins dont fit rims so i made them fit- then the spinners have nothing to attatch to---please explain what u did so my next version will be better --or have the right parts!
Inspiring. Just starting my kit. Thanks for sharing this great car.

Nice !😎👍

A silver or gold base coat might have made that paint pop more.
I'm having trouble with the front suspension. do u have any how to on it
Great looking all around. What do you use for the chrome?

It was in the kit.

Where can I find this classic model

Yes
Liked the kit better w/ the Buick engine. The Hildebrandts take some of the "Sting" out...😂

Mix and match kind of works but I'd have built this one as version B .
I just use krylon paints from the can and get really good results
I've tried but can never get it right.
Why do you always say paint and primer it should be primer and paint
I guess I'm lisdexic
