I've worked in restaurants my whole life - from chains to scratch kitchens - and I've never ever seen a commercial kitchen as pristine as this one! My assumption is that you are doing it for community and even though it's a community kitchen, it's EVERYONE'S kitchen. Therefore, everyone who enters the kitchen takes pride in the cleanliness of the space as one would in a single family home... Maybe even moreso due to the health and safety of a large group.
Anywho, the kitchen is beautiful! I had a daydream about working in it 😂 and had to pause the video and give props because they are definitely due!

Thankyou yeah thats true it's everybody's kitchen so wherever it's gets used by anybody they do their part in making sure they clean after they are done..it is a nice space makes cooking for a large group so much easier 😊

@@gisellewaldner9406 lol...well I might have exagerated a bit. But I used to own a refrigeration company and I visited quite a few colonys here in southern Alberta that milked cows. I would work on the refrigerated milk tanks and was always very impressed with how clean the entire dairy setup is. The room with the milk tank was always spotless.

That is why we "outsiders" are so curious about it. It is not to critic, find fault, or simply be nosey. Our world is full of corrupt politicians, failed economics and now a pandemic. Me👋🏻. I said something similar to myself yesterday when I saw the bread slicer. It makes sense but I still love it 🌼 It must make cooking and everything else, for a crowd sooo much easier. I do love to watch a cook or baking week, then again I enjoy them all. It makes so much sense for a few people to cook then share it, than having each individual family all doing it. Even in my family if we’re cooking something that can be shared, stew for example we’ll usually ask family if they want some too. Just peel & chop more vegetables 😄🌼

Thank you so much for taking the time to post recipes. There is an online calculator to help convert the measurements. I had a giggle looking at your big batches. That's a crazy amount of work but looks yummy. Can't wait to try them.

I am a subscriber. Back in 1975 I was working in Grassrange, Montana. I hired some Hutterite men to help me do some building. They were the strongest people I have ever known. You have never mentioned that. They were from the Aires Colony Farm. In fact, even the girls were extremely strong. They could open and shut a wire gate that gave normal men a hard time.

I love your blogs! I just spent a few days watching a couple of them after work :) Coukd you maybe do a tour of where you live (like show the different community buildings and what they're used for) or explain a little more how the communal living works? It's super interesting to me. You already explained about money, but how do you meet people to marry (I imagine it's not all just in the community, but depends how large it is I guess)? Are you related to a lot of the people there? Who "leads" the community, is there an election? Also is internet use/access to everything out there (like netflix and google etc) at all restricted, or not? Sorry, lots of questions haha

Thanks for the recipes. BTW.... I bought my own Saskatoon bush after watching your harvest blog. I read that Saskatoons are grown for greater fruit production than serviceberries. ...either way the birds will be happy with the leftovers 🫐❣️

I've really been enjoying watching you're videos and learning about Hutterite's colony life! You have a loving personality and playful sense of humor which I enjoy watching. I have two sons the youngest is just a few months younger than you! Their sense of humor is much like yours! If I had a daughter I would love for her to be like you! Thanks for all the work you do putting these videos together. I really enjoy them! The verses at the end always seem to fit very well! Blessings to you! Also, I like to bake and cook so this was especially fun!

Love the recipes. The buckwheat soup looked yummy ( hint,hint...lol). I did find a couple of used Hutterite recipe books online I purchased (woohoo). Amazon has at least one that I saw.
I do hope one of the guys does a guest blog. My hubby would LOVE to see the manufacture of fire trucks.
Do you grow your own herbs? Dry fruit and veg? Make your own herbal meds?
Your videos are great but lead me to lots of questions. Sorry. Have a wonderful week, talented girl!

I'm glad you enjoy the vlogs but, unfortunately I am not allowed to film inside our firetruck shop (though I would really love to) I could run into some legal problems.
yeah we grow our own herbs but, most of them we pick wild we just prefer to do that..I'll see what I can do about the soup its a very straight forward recipe :)..if you have questions feel free to ask I'll try my best to answer them.

I would LOVE to be able to buy a Hutterite cookbook! As soon as I saw your stringbean soup, it not only brought me back to growing up, but also brought tears to my eyes and smiles to my heart-- My dear, beloved Granny used to make something that looked IDENTICAL to that, and I haven't seen anyone else make it since she went to Heaven in 1998!! I'm just STUNNED... stunned! My heart is SO FULL... I loved her SO deeply!!

We have a hutterite owned bookstore and im hoping they will restock soon 😊....do you have the recipe for the soup? I put it in the description box of one of my older cooking videos, let me know if you can't find it and I'll see what I can do 😊

    • @ChristinaFromFlint
      @ChristinaFromFlint 3 года назад

@@gisellewaldner9406 Sadly I do not have the recipe. I've literally been looking since she passed in 1998! The closest I've found is creamed green beans... We make many veggies creamed: potatoes n' peas being a childhood fave, and the recipe for creamed "any veggies" that I find just aren't what I'm looking for, sadly. I called my husband at work after this video because I was SO over the moon happy!!!
