Oh and it’s not even a full hotdog, just the weenie 😂.... but Steak tacos is one of those meals that takes me about an hr to get on the table. The meat falls apart, but it order to get it to that it has to simmer in chicken stalk with caldo de pollo seasoning for about 45mins and the rest is quick... some toasted corn tortillas and feta cheese 🥴💕 This women is beautiful and patient. I commend her 👌🏻❤️
Yay! I’m a vegetarian, and we primarily eat Indian food. But I still get so much out of these videos. How to keep it simple, and focus on fresh ingredients. Thanks Lisa!
Lisa, I made your butternut squash chili yesterday. It is delicious. My husband absolutely loves it!! I love your channel, I have also made sourdough starter on Monday. Yesterday I was in phase two of feeding twice a day and taste tested some starter on my cast iron skillet, it was delicious also. Thank you so much for sharing, I been binge watching all your videos this week ❤️🌹😋
You are so inspiring! I strive to eat fresh most days! I love your garden and lifestyle! And I have tried many of your recipes and all turned out great! Thanks for sharing them!
Lisa, You are such an inspirational woman, And Luke is a very lucky husband I so appreciate following along and getting new food ideas for my husband and I, living our makeshift farmhouse lives, working full time jobs... in the small Illinois suburbs!! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Love these what we eat in a day videos! They really help me to switch up our meals and try some new things! We’re a family of 7 with 5 girls ages 6 and under so I love being able to follow your channel with similar portion sizing! Looking forward to your next video!
I got so excited when I saw your stove - I have a very similar stove from the 1940s and I love it. It is a little smaller than yours because mine has a heating unit on the left side. It is a fabulous stove and beats all of the new ones.
I watch your channel all the time!! My input would be especially RE the last two questions I asked regarding washing herbs. Please just remember there are people (me) who want to do these things but literally have no experience. If you could add extra details and instructions it would be great!! Ty!!
I have been binge watching yours cooking shows today. I actually made 4 quarts of sauerkraut for the first time, today. I wish I knew how to use herbs like you do.
Girlfriend you look exhausted. Cooking in the summer is no fun. You look like an amazing mother and truly wonderful cook. I would never have thought of doing things in those ways. You need to do a rustic cook book.
When we moved into our house, and saw the deep freezer, I didn’t think I would ever use it. Now it is FULL of pre-chopped eggplant, sweet potato, shredded cheese, celery, onion and carrot, bones for stock, pizza dough, pizza dough, pizza dough. Saves me so much time in the day to day I’m not in the kitchen sooo much. Although the sourdough pizza crust might even save me more time and it’ll be something different to do with my discard than sourdough cinnamon rolls all the time 😁
Your videos are so beautiful! I love the way they're filmed and edted. Also, def going to try a few of these! You've inspired me to start a garden with my little one while she's home this year :) She is SO excited!
I just had cheeseburger soup at a local restaurant and they added diced dill pickles to the soup while it was cooking! It was an awesome flavour boost!
That sounds super yummy! I once made a similar dish -- it was more of a casserole or sautee than a soup, but I browned the beef, added kidney beans (to kinda-sorta replace the sweet starchy flavor of a bun and to add more nutrition), chopped pickles, fresh tomatoes, and then I stirred in some ketchup and mustard to finish off that burger flavor profile! It was so good! Actually, I've been meaning to make it again and you've reminded me. 😁
Doesn't sound strange to me, I was thinking the same thing! What a gorgeous juicy texture but without falling apart! I felt like I could practically taste them... 😋
Love your what we eat in a week. I am doing a happy dance when I see a new video! Your Cheeseburger soup is a staple in my house of 6 when weather turns cool. Everyone loves 💘 it!
I’m amazed that you can feed your whole family with 4 pork chops! You should try making cast iron curry 🥕. Just cut your 🥕 they way you did for steamed and add cook in your cast iron skillet ...On top of the stove in coconut oil, salt/pepper, and curry powder. It takes awhile bc the carrots actually get caramelized and some look burnt. They are so delicious.
I made it all the way to the end before drooling. Those stuffed peppers looked amazing! Everything looked amazing, but the peppers really did it for me.
I wish many more poeple could see Lisa's meal. She uses fats and healthy sugars. Her children eat vegetables, they eat a proper portion size not a gargantuan serving. She feeds her family what they need to thrive. That is why this family are all slim and trim, good, proper food without loads of sweets, crisps and rubbish or overeating. Eating properly is what keeps you slim, exercise is a bonus. You can't exercise away a bad diet. Well done Lisa. 😀
I agree but also growing kids can eat a lot more of clean healthy foods and it's not a problem. My boys eat large portions but because we eat organic from scratch cooking, our pediatrician has reassured us it's fine to give them more if they ask. We have 2 Super active boys who are thin. Just my experience.
@@lb9549 The difference is you are offering good wholesome food, with good vegetable content, filling, nutritious and not full of sugar and unhealthy fats, they are probably eating the right fuel to keep themselves healthy. I agree, they can eat more of decent food, but you would also probably do something if your children developed a weight issue, which eating good quality food, as you do, is not as likely. The weight comes with incessant snacking, and poor quality over processed food. The poor used to be thin, now they are the overweight because they processed food is so cheap, and easy. In the UK we used to teach cooking in schools, many children learned that way. I wish it had continued.
That pizza looks amazing! I have yet to try your sourdough pizza, but I’ve tried most of the other recipes on your website! 😊 I love watching your videos to see to recipes as well as your outfits! 😆 Your style is so pretty 💕
You're like a supermom. I cook this way for my two kids and husband, but doing it for 6 kids sounds like so much more work! I feel like my life consists of nothing but chopping vegetables all day.
Yes! We have 2 boys with appetites of grown men, and I swear that big pot of cheeseburger soup she made would be only 1 dinner for 4 of us ;) they are great eaters and I'm happy about that, but "doubled" recipes are lucky to give us 1 portion for lunch the next day. Glad I'm not alone!!
I always enjoy the what we eat in a week videos but haven't tried any - until now!!! So many amazing ideas, we totally cook out of the garden grocery store in the summer and pizza with tomatoes instead of sauce! Why have I never done this? The zucchini Mac & Cheese will be on the menu this week for sure. So easy love it! I don't know if I'll have any acorn squash out of our garden but I will purchase at the farmers market this weekend if there are any because that looked amazing. I don't make sour dough starter but I need to. Thank you so much for these videos. What an amazing way to eat! So inspired!
I love these videos. Just had my 5th baby on Tuesday and looking forward to getting back in the swing of things. In the fall that is, when I can use my oven and not have my house get 90 degrees 🥴 I don’t know how you do it!!
Love your simple recipes with ingredients you just throw together! I cook this way too. Also, you inspired me to make sauerkraut for the first time and i love it! Will be a staple in my fridge from now on!
Have fun! Every single recipe and what we eat videos are just my favorite. I’ve tried most of them too and none of have been bad. I make all of her sourdough recipes regularly since my husband can’t handle much gluten but is bread obsessed. This channel really changed our life a few years ago!
You definitely need to write a cookbook!! Id love to have a sit down meal at your house 😉
it's definitely a goal of mine!
Oh my God I would buy it instantly 😍
The music you played when you are chopping up the acorn squash is definitely my favorite!
This is TRUE farmhouse living!
Lisa you are a wonderful Mum .Bless you
I love how you showed the finished dish but also your kids plates at the table!
My favorite videos! Thank you for making these regularly. I’m looking forward to more!
Lisa's version of a quick meal: Mexican Fiesta steak tacos
Mine: throw a banana and some cheese on a plate with a hot dog.
