This came out so much nicer than I imagined. I love the color, and think this is amazing. Congratulations! Your hard work sure shows. I think it was almost worth the wait.
Rich is the hardest working guy on youtube, it's nice to see this looking so good. I recently did an amateur paintjob on my car and started the wetsanding and polishing. I had no idea just how many hours it takes, I spent all weekend and didn't get close to finishing.
I bought a '67 GTO when I was 19 years old. It was mariner turquoise, black interior with an auto. This project is really bringing me back. Amazing work you guys do.
@@caldogz you should reread his post because he was referring to imperfections in the ceilings of the shop, next time don't try so hard to troll you'll hurt your brain
I knew a guy where I grew up. He bought a brand new 67 GTO in 67. This car reminds me of it. He had dark blue paint too I believe. Been a long time ago. Love your car man.
For the bumper I’d use rust converter. It would convert the rust and seal it like a paint. I often use it as a primer or whatever you’d call it. I know a rust converter applied by spray can which is epoxy based, that’s super handy for this type of job. Rust removal I’d use if I was going to weld or plate it. When you want a clean surface basically. Nice video!
Boy that car sure wears that color well. Amazing job. Looking forward to what's to come. By the way, I hope you're planning to frame the Bob DeBoss original and hang it in the shop.
Man that GTO is beautiful.... And I hate the color green, but that color fits that car SO well. It looks amazing. I can't wait to see pictures of it out in the world.
I'm looking forward to seeing y'all in Charlotte in June I will come up and say " how are my favorite Canadians?" I love the car, what a labor of love you and your brother have put into it and it looks beautiful
That's a beautiful shade of green, what color is it? It reminds me of my '96 Silverado's Emerald Green Metallic. It was a super stable color; my bodyman said he could paint the body panel in the booth, bolt it on, and you couldn't tell it had just been painted. The down side was the color seemed invisible. People would look at my truck, then pull out in front of me, and were surprized when I honked the horn at them. One lady looked right at my truck and drove into my front tire; I ended up driving over her front end, totalling my truck for the second time in about a month (deer did the first one). A month or so later, I was driving through a small village telling my FIL how people didn't seem to see my truck, when a woman at a party store looked at my truck, and proceeded to drive into my driver's door! I cannot fathom how she couldn't see a 2 1/2 ton green pickup going 25 mph, but she was startled when I honked my horn just 10 feet away from her! She looked like it was the first time she saw my truck. Bizarre!
Rich for where the rust is on the outside of the bumper you can fix it by using neverdull I found it while getting products for my harley it shined the pipes right up and then I tried it on my trucks old bumpers where the rust was running and spotty and it completely got rid of it. :)
I've seen workshop clearcoats, done without the luxury of a clean booth, that could pass for a modern mass-produced factory finish. I've also seen the amount of time and effort that goes into a cut and polish, particularly on a car with this much real estate, and appreciate the effect it has on the end result. I'm sure now that it's over with you'll agree it was a worthwhile endeavor.
Only Bob knows the answer to life's question. Portrait or landscape darling. Also as someone who has wired 1or 2 cars as a auto sparky. Earthing/Grounding everything engine/chassis/fuse relay blocks then seal all termination + -- with "paint". I know I know you know that. Anyway's that is 1 sweet ride you boys have A.
Hey Deboss! GTO looks bad ass can’t wait to see it finished. Could you do a quick review on the Milwaukee ROVER flood lights? I’m looking to pick one up just not sure which one, would really appreciate your opinion. 👍
Damn that is some impressive work. Been waiting for this since you teased it on insta. Someone should invent a voice activated clear coat timer that can attach to ah....a tape measure maybe. I wish I could get that kind of finish but I am way to filthy, Rich. Maybe Bob DeBoss can give some tips how he keeps clean. Love this build. It is one good looking Goat.
I kept seeing waves, ripples in the paint as your were polishing and I'm thinking how is he not seeing these major flaws in the paint job!?! Then I realized it was the reflection from the corrugated roof panels above. duh!!! Looking good...
Who wants to see what a 4 year restoration timelapse looks like?
Me!
DEBOSS GARAGE definitely me
Great idea!
I do I do 🖐️
That would be epic sir! Please do.
Really great seeing where this car has ended up. Super badass Rich!

That is a gorgeous GTO my friend!! Good work!!
Bloody work of art. Between the vintage of the car and the old-school mags, it brings back memories of my high school parking lot in 1973.
73honda350 says the 73 Honda guy, LOL. sorry man, just had to. LOL

The car is absolutely beautiful!! I would love to see it in person! Rich you should make some bob Deboss shirt. I would buy one. Great vid rich
Bob DeBoss...... You've got a happy little GTO there. The wig was great but, the brush slaping totally cracked me up!
That is so shiny, I can see imperfections in your ceiling paint.
Houses have ceilings not cars.
@@caldogz You can't see his barn ceiling in the paint? Don't try so hard to be an ass and enjoy the video.

Rich this is greatness, I'm not really a chrome man but when those rocker guards went on it all came together.
Its hard to convince a lot of people about what the end result could be. I'm still trying to tell my wife that about me
Wow. Simply awesome. You all did a great job.
"Welfare klompen"... love it!
WOW!!
Great job on the GTO guy's!
That mirror finish is amazing
The shop is clean! WOW!

It still looks completely different on Camera.

It's very rare to find s diesel mechanic that Will do body work.
Looks amazing
Props to ya man, I would never have the patience to do what you just did in polishing.

Summer Cruising will be extra fun this year 😎
Pause at 19:09
Phwooaarrrrrr. Also bob deboss hahaha
Good job guys! GTO looks amazing! Probably in the near future it will need a Cummins swap ;)
You can also use a toothpick to get in those tight areas

Good job Rich, looks phenomenal
Ooohhhheeeee dats purdee right der. Didnt think you could make anything that clean.

Hey Rich , was thinking ... this GTO would look good on Jay Leno's Garage !
Maybe he can do a 2fer and take the Audi for a rip too!
Love the car bro nice job
Lookin' good!!
What a beautiful car WOW

The car looks great Rich, good work! Polishing is frustrating work and now you will cringe every time someone walks near it even lol!
I can't believe you guys didn't get the trim and bumpers re-chromed.
Plus, you should've had all the hardware (nuts and bolts) plated.
We didn't really see the point in re-chroming brand new trim.... New bumpers are on, just ran out of budget at the time and needed to drive the car!
Beautiful 👍🏼🇺🇸
F@cking beautiful... Wouldn't change a thing about it. Nice taste
Yeah I used testors paint when I did my 59 emblems. It all cracked within a year
Hoogie has very clean hands
So banging I had to buy a t-shirt!
Later ,Chrome the hood intake piece looks sweet man ,when its done :)
