Now after 6-800 hrs of work into this barn find restoration, it's getting 3 coats of feather fill and blocking with 220 grit sand, then 3 coats of high build primer, 320 then 500 grit sand, then 2 coats of sealer, bake it, 800 grit sand, 3 coats of base coat (2 for coverage, 3rd to lay out metallics), then 3 coats of Cromax Pro clear. We went with a darker variation on the original Mariner Turquoise for this '67 #GTO #restomod. The actual colour is based on Deep Emerald Green Metallic from the 90s era Mustang. We will be at Motorama on Sunday March 10th, but without the #67goat unfortunately. See you there! Info: debossgarage.com/events/2019/3/8/toronto-motorama-2019
Looks similar to the green I had on my 98 Mustang GT. Money no object, Ford color, I'd have gone with that blue/teal from the GT350 and the recent GT500.
@@DEBOSSGARAGE I am amazed by the camera shots of the car if it looks as good as you say it does it will definitely be a showstopper cant wait to see everything back on her and I'm wondering what your going to do for the interior
I’ve been painting for close to 40 years and all of that has been in restorations and I’ve gotta say brother that you nailed it!!!! From the few minutes of video I saw that goat is killer!!! You’ve got something to be proud of there now brother!! The paint guy did a phenomenal job laying down the color and clear, it looks fricken awesome and will only get better with cut and rub and putting her back together. I’m proud of you and your team buddy!!!!
Wow. Thats came out amazing. Great job Deboss, crew and all that made it come to this stage. Rich/Deboss you should have million subscribers for sure. Your work ethic, detail to absolute perfection is A+. Definitely picking up some stickers. Thanks for video guys. Badass ride.
I was curious and did a hagerty appraisal for a 67 gto, concours-160K, excellent- 129K, good - 95K, fair- 55K . Add 15% for stock A/C and +15% w/ 4 speed, take off 10% for auto. So I think hoogie's wife will understand...
Rich and crew, I've gotta tell you that your GTO vids inspired me to inspire my old man to get back on our 66' Fairlane GTA. She's been a work-in-progress for about 7-8 years now. Dad and I started it, planning to replace floor-pans (which we did), and straighten the ol' gal out (she's about 90-95%). He spent a couple years getting the body to his liking, and then lost his vision in his dominant eye. That put the brakes on the project because he couldn't tell depth perception, and I don't have the finesse to do the fine body-work. I shattered both collarbones in a motorcycle accident and sanding after about an hour feels like someone hitting me with a sledge. Anyway, I ripped the ol' 390 BB out of the old gal, and started rebuilding it from the ground-up, and the old man is inch-by-inch "feeling" his way through the final bodywork with the help of my eyes, and I'm putting the powertrain back "ALL ORIGINAL" as the old man demands. She'll truly be a beautiful boat in the factory copper-bronze color when she's all finished up (hopefully in the next year) and I'm looking forward to shooting you guys some pictures! Where should I send em? I just wanted to say thanks for getting my ass motivated to get back out in the garage with the old man. We never had much of a relationship growing up except cars, and life kinda got in the way for me. Since we've been back on this project, it's really given us a chance to spend some good time together, and I know it means as much to him as it does for me. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the goat, and the color brought tears to my eyes man. That thing is GORGEOUS! Great work, awesome vids, and just wanted you to know you were an inspiration for me, that allowed me to get to spend some quality time with my dad. Thanks guys for all your hard work! Stay Filthy!
@@DEBOSSGARAGE I'm in Northwest Georgia USA. I'll send you some pics when I can get some decent ones of the car, and I'd like to keep in touch. It's been really neat to see him get inspired again. Thanks for the response!
🤔 I really do like it. An excellent variation on the original Mariner Turquoise factory color. Very happy to see some originality in the color choice and those year GTOs look great in almost any color. Those body lines are what caught my eye when I bought my 67 GTO.

Love watching your vids and can’t wait to see that baby choochin soon!

Fantastic paint job. 67 GTO is my all time favorite car. Had one for 12 years and sold it cheap. Biggest mistake I ever made with a car. It was a keeper and because of situation at the time I got rid of it.

WOW rick, looking amazing, you are SO MUCH more patient and skilled than I am, I would have just filled the trim holes than all that extra work, also really brave to cut down the rear quarter right before paint!!!
The 67 is absolutely amazing. I had a 67 in 94 and sadly driving to a wedding some young kid hit me and the car was done. Been looking for another ever since. Enjoy it you guys did a great job and love the videos🍻

Perfect, outside in the park on a sunny weekend. Paint is going to drive you nuts with the subtle (and not so subtle) variations depending on the light (how much and type). Even in the booth on the inside of the sails its a nice black. Its these sort of colours that it is interesting to see the changes when the base is changed from say a silver to gold, I suspect you could get it to appear much bluer without a whole lot of change. Chance of a paint pin stripe?
Man, I love that color! My first car was a 65 Rag Top 65 Mustang that was Dark Green Metallic. It was really close to what you are using and man did it pop in the sun! To this day I miss that car. I had her for over 17 years but it as time to let it go to new home. If I could find it, I would buy it back in a heartbeat! It sucks that you will miss having it for Motorama but just think of all the enjoyment you will have in it in the years to come. Great Job and keep the great videos coming, I only recently found your channel and am enjoying watching all of your older videos!
The guys at Dixon told me it would be hard pressed to get it done in time. He called about 2 weeks in and asked if I wanted a good job or a great job. We went with the latter. Thinking back on rushing with the Audi, it didn't seem that appealing to me to work non stop and make mistakes
