On the whole it did get me excited and definitely helped sell Matt Smith as Daemon a bit more. However still. I like the fact they're trying to make the throne more lore accurate. Corlys and the Velaryon didn't look as bad as i thought they would. However, the wigs still seemed questionable. I'm still concerned how they will handle the race swap and the wider lore implications but i'm open to seeing how they handle it. One this that caught my eyes is Rhaenys hair. What always found the Black Baratheon hair with the purple eyes quite striking, so her hair color was a bit disappointing. But i guess it's not clear if its supposed to be Targaryen silver or her hair is just grey. On that note, the lack of purple eyes, in general, was something im sad they didn't try and do. So yeah i like it, still, a lot that worries me but a good start. They will have a hard time winning people back after season 8 i think but it vital they get the pace of the show right. It can't move through the timeline too slow, but it can't move to quick like the Witcher did. Going to be a fine balance to get right. I plan on making a more detailed video about the trailer in the next week

@@WorldOfWesteros Well they probably didn't give them purple eyes for continuity reasons. Since the main series already established the Targaryens had green or blue eyes. You would have to explain why Daenerys, Viserys, and Rhaegar didn't have purple eyes but the Targaryens on HOD does.

They both wanted to become higher in position. Ulf wanted to be a lord and Hugh wanted to be the king, and so far Rhaenyra wasn't granting them any lands or anything so they were probably thinking that maybe Aegon would reward them with higher positions whereas Rhaenyra would not.

I love how Alicent suggests to Rhaenyra that Westeros be split: Aegon would get the Stormlands, the Reach and the Westerlands while Rhaenyra gets the rest.
However, most of the Reach was not fighting for Aegon but for Rhaenyra; the only Houses from the Reach that were on Aegon's side were Hightower, Redwyne, Peake and a couple very minor Houses the rest of the Reach were loyal to Rhaenyra minus the Tyrells who remained Neutral since their Lord was still very young with his mother acting as Regent.
I will say I don't blame Rhaenyra for refusing to give Hugh Hammer & Ulf White so many castles and Lordships, but the Blacks (namely Daemon) should've waited till the war was done completely before offering any Lordships and castles to the dragon seeds.

Yet the Greens were also the ones who started the war by going against King Viserys' decree and the established succession. Also the first deal is shit for Rhaenyra, and the second would result in a win for the Greens, so those can hardly be called 'fair' offerings. The third deal is the only marginally realistic one, and it was made by Alicent(not Aegon) who had no real power to make that offer. Plus she only did it because Rhaenyra had the upper hand at that point. Rhaenyra was bloodthirsty for good reason. Do you also expect Maegor and Daemon Blackfyre to be treated like equals and split the realm? No they were usurpers who got a shit ton of people killed for their own greed and ambition. Aegon and the Greens were no different.

Without the betrayal of Hugh and Ulf, Queen Rhaenyra's victory would have been certain and other important characters, such as Daemon, would still be alive. When Hugh and Ulf turned to the Greens, Queen Rhaenyra could no longer trust the Dragonseeds and as such her whole end game strategy crumbled; an attempt to capture and kill Nettles left Daemon to face off against Aemond and Vhagar alone which meant a narrow chance for Daemon to succeed and live. Moreover, the Treason at Tumbleton resulted to the needless death of many Dragons which would soon lead to the demise of the Dragon species and of the power of the Targaryn bloodline.
