The guy playing the American tourist taking pictures at the end of this clip is my Father "Mort Gleeson." This is the first time I've ever seen this. He and my mother always talked about this film and his role in it, so this is a very special day seeing it for the first time. Thank you!

MrPatricioG I remember seeing him in this back in the day (I would have been younger than Antonia), and I'm going to watch it again soon.

How wonderful. If you contact the BP Archive in the UK, they will send you a decent copy of the film on DVD. They are did so for me many years ago. I just loved watching this film in the '70s and I still do.

Memories of childhood. Coming home from school, with nothing on the television worth watching only the Trade Test Transmission Films on BBC2. Some of these shows were great.

Wonderfull to watch this once more, I never thought I would ever see it again since watching it repeatedly as a youngster in the very early 1970's. It only occurred to me today to search for it on RUclips, I couldn't remember what it was called so clicked on this while not knowing if this was it, and here it is after all these years, great!
I thought I was the only one who remembered things like this, but I'm amazed and glad to see that so many others remember it with such fondness as I do. Thanks so much for posting it.

When I was a kid this was all we got for daytime TV. Half a dozen trade test transmissions repeated over and over every hour or so. Still miles better than the antiques road trip cr*p, bloody Flog It and the other sh*te that we get nowadays.

I also saw this when the new BBC 2 hit the screens, I was about 13 at the time but will always remember this film, thanks, These were Broadcast in the UK at a time when BBC 2 was only on for a few hours and the films were always repeated over and over....this felt old fashioned in 67/8 but I still remember it fondly

Bits I'd totally forgotten, but remembered with a gasp when I saw them here:
    4:45 Hat coming off
6:14 Filler cap under tail light
The only bit of this film I remembered before seeing it was the boy having his cart filled with fuel - the tin can bit (in part three).... amazing to see again.
    Fantastic!

The location is to the right of the Eden Bar Via Mandriole, 222, 48123 Mandriole RA, Italy. No longer a service station, I recognized the iron work pattern over the windows.

A real memory jerker from my youth. With the aid of StreetView you can see that the garage has recently been converted to residential, by searching for 220 SP24 Ravenna, Italy (although you may have to look along the road for the grey building with the green doors). Over 40 years later it's still easily recognisable. Where's Antonia Scalari (Giuseppina) now I wonder?

I used to love the one entitled "Evoluon" by Philips, which is available on YT as well, I've since sought that, and one with footage from the 1958 "North West 200" motor cycle race. Do you know about the one called "Blood Can Work Miracles" at all?

Great to see that again! There are so many of those I remember as the BBC2 colour test transmissions. There's two more I'd like to see again, "Light" and "Boolong & Bola" - anyone posted those?
