  • Promo film for the Evoluon in Eindhoven. Grabbed it from an early Philips VLP (Laserdisc) to share it to the world. Sadly, all but the building itself is gone for more than 20 years now.
Not intended to bash the original uploaders of this film, but I like viewing it in one part.

I watched this on telly as a tiny child didn't really understand what it was all about , liked the singing in the background. Very much of it's time.❤

Oh my word, I'm 8 years old again... 😢 this really takes me back, I and I mean REALLY.
I remember every little thing about it, the music, the noises, the people. Wow!

Love the Evoluon! Been there many times at the end of the sixties and throughout the seventies. Still my all time favourite building. Eindhoven de Gekste 😁

Memories, memories. I used to visit this at least once a year in the late 60s, early 70s. My parents would drop me off when the museum opened and pick me back up at closing time.

An absolutely magical place - and a top place to visit for us RAF brats.
I remember a mechanical dinosaur in the lobby that would respond to sound, a machine that said coffee with different inflections, my mum finding out she was colour blind - and a very cool flight simulator.
I had a poster of Evoluon on my wall as a kid and used to draw the symbol (a sort of backwards 4 with a dot) on all of my notebooks.

They used to show this on BBC2 some mornings at 9am. I was 4 or 5 at the time and loved to watch it. I think they still have conferences there. I want to visit some day.

I visited this place more than 12 times back then, when I was young (1970-s). I simply loved it and couldn't get enough of it. Remember (almost) everything. I became a PhD in technology later but still would like to visit the Evoluon once more today...

This used to be shown regularly on bbc2 as a colour test film. I saw it so many times that I knew the music note for note.

Yes it was one of the colour trade test films when colour TV was being introduced. I was a young teenager at the time and my parents had a campervan that we used to travel around Europe in. I managed to persuade them to take a detour to Eindhoven to get to see it. All because of this film. It was a fantastic place and left quite an impression on me.

Definitely remember this on BBC2 as it was in colour. they used to show it as an infill program quite often to demonstrate the value of colour telly. Most TV programmes were in Black & White then. I was 7- 8 years old at the time and I remember being fascinated by the ball smashing into pieces after bring dipped in nitrogen.

Like Rob J I must have visited the Evoluon many times maybe 20-30 in the late 60s - early 70s, my Grandmother (Oma) lived about 3 mins away, I know every exhibit intimately, and this film brings it all back, I really miss it and would love for them to update the old concept for today's youngsters to explore, it certainly stimulated my mind, and I hope it was a worthwhile PR exercise for Philips.

I'm sure it was. Too bad the same can't be said much for the Philips of today.

I suspect that there is more to this, as some seems to be missing? namely, the Senster. Google it! I found it a bit creepy, this Senster. Some remains are preserved, I think. what an age to live in, seems full of charm and wonder now.
