One thing I never see mentioned in any SnS tutorial is changing the length of your charged attack. If you hold back while unleashing it, you won't go as far, and if you hold forward, you'll go farther. The latter is really useful to land the first hit, the former is great for repositioning.
I noticed this but thought maybe it was just my imagination that it would increase the distance of the attack. Some thing I've learned but never hear anyone mention is being able to do a charge attack straight from a guard. You just have your shield out and do a backstep, but no one ever mentions it.
+Megaron you get a length boost on the direction you're holding the circle pad; if you hold it a bit to the right or to the left the attack is gonna go to that direction, allowing you some repositioning on the attack. That's why holding it back makes the jump shorter
you forgot to mention that you can only get the effect of one oil a time. means that if you use the stamina oil while the effect of the affinity oil is still on; you'll cancel out the effect of the first oil and get the effect of the new one. so don't waste all of your oils at once, guys.
You can also do an upwards jumping attack up a ledge *while sheathed* [Hold R] + (X+A). It's tricky, but you can also do this at the end of a climbable wall! ... Probably not quite as useful, but still... *It's a move you can do!* :D Take a shot every time Gaijinhunter starts his tutorials with "it's got...". Take another shot for every second "it's got..." afterwards. (GH drinking game is a Work In Progress)
Man, Gaijin Hunter, I love you... I always think that I know everything about MH, but then you pull off a new video to reveal yet another bunch of details I've never known before! As for this video the 6% sharpness modifier. Back in the 4U tutorial you forgot to include that the X finisher and charge attack are actually two hits, but who am I to blame you? I basically only use SnS and hardly anything else, lol. SnS is my absolute main weapon - you could almost say only weapon - and you just spoke straight from my heart in this video, especially from 14:45 onwards. As someone who utilizes the backhop/charge attack extremely often, I can totally see myself maining SnS guild style with round force and shoryugeki in MHG! I'm so insanely hyped right now and your SnS tutorial just made me go nuts - good job, man! :)
SnS is a weapon I always wanted to like but never quite clicked with, and BOY has that changed with MHGen. Something about it just feels so much smoother and more fluid in this game vs 3 and 4, and I absolutely love the mobility it has in aerial style. Sacrificing the long combo is not even a question for me when the 2-hit launch attack can absolutely trivialize monsters that don't like to sit still. I don't think I've used any other styles with SnS even once tbh, i just love the feel of how aerial plays so much. This tutorial has definitely made me want to give striker a chance though; all the SnS specific hunter arts are really good and sometimes it's hard to choose which one I want to take in with me. Thanks for all the work you put into these videos. I always learn something new from these tutorials, even for the weapon I've been maining since MH3. You are an incredible asset to the MonHun community, keep up the good work!
Thank you for all that you do for this community! I'm am definitely the most excited for Gamuto/Gammoth and I will solely be using the hammer for this title. I'm going to try adept style as my main, however I'm going to be experimenting here and there with the others to find the right fit.
+heyheythrowaway i've seen a video that listed many tricks with bombs and adept evades. most notably, getting level 3 charges with great swords and hammers. adept sns is somewhat able to mimic aerial style with such shenanigans, i guess... i'll definetly try it out myself.
I love affinity oil, ceanataur gear with a few gems for crit eye + 3, narga weapons, and the affinity oil adds up for 100% affinity and using that is so much fun
I got pretty good at this weapon in 4U recently and it became my favourite weapon. I won't lie, the blade oils in Gens made me want to get good at the weapon before we got the game and I'm so happy I did. It's such a fun weapon. EDIT: After playing the MHG demo I was happy to see it's just as fun as it was before. But oddly enough... even though it's the weakest style for the SnS I actually had the most fun with the aerial style.

Hey Gaijin, great video. If I could suggest one thing, when talking about a move, could you perhaps also add some icons/subtitles to the buttons you're pressing . I know you're saying it but having it being shown would be really handy too. Keep up the great work!
12:50 actually, I experimented with the adept backstep and I learned that you can do it out of a guard stance! Making adept sns surprisingly effective!
Man, if Aerial style is the weakest for status, I need to try out the other styles again. All I've done is aerial, and status effect/elemental damage has been pretty damn great.
Man I am pumped about this! I started using sns during G-rank in MH3U, fell in love with it, and mained all throughout MH4U. Holy crap am I excited for the oils, they feel extremely strong to me, especially cause I already thought that sns was a powerful weapon. I will probably experiment a lot with all of the styles, but from what I've seen, Guild Style will probably be the way to go for me. The other styles look fun, but I love my bread and butter combo and my backstep too much to let them go. Can't wait for this game to come to the US!
Im most excited about the oils. It feels like they have boosted the support and utility provided by the SnS as compared to say the Light Bowgun. I will be using both from now on because of them specifically.
that's a lot of input in your videos... but I really enjoy watching them! what I would find easier is a short list with standard combos for each video which shows the basic fighting for each weapon
Damn....I might convert to SnS now....Still waiting for the ultimate and final tutorial of Charge Blade! Amazing work as always! Just 2 more months to go....
Ive been a Sns user since Tri and it always annoyed me when it was called a beginers weapon ( even if I had a 230\940 drag divine eggression in 4 ultimate) it makes my hearth warmer to know that it was finally recognized as the beast it really is. Cheers Gaijin, you rock!
sns is one of the best weapons actually. even in mh4u. in the hands of a good hunter it will demolish everything faster than most other weapons. also, two words: stylish bombing
same there, but checking your number Egression has 740 dragon, still the highest drag element in SnS and I think in any other weapons, and you can also hone it for a bonus 30 base
can't wait to see the IG guide, recently started having a lot of fun with it, I haven't looked at weapons in the game, but really hoping for zinogre or nargacuga glaive
Just a minor note for the aerial style- when you trigger the vertical jump, you have a short i-frame while performing the rising attack. Plenty of attacks can be evaded by jumping into them just before they go off (I'm looking at you Glavenus spin)
I'm liking SnS even more, it's always been my favorite weapon, and now it's even stronger. I like how every oil has a use (Been thinking of using the red oil when using a status set to take advantage of status crit)
SnS was my OG main since I first played Monster Hunter in 3rd gen. I've not been using it too much lately since I want to try and get better with other weapons. The new SnS makes me miss using it, but all the more to look forward to for the Western release of MHX. I do feel that coatings should be craftable though, much like bowgun ammo and bow coatings. Even if I'm swimming in Points to buy them with. The back+a evade and charge can chain from the finisher, for an infinite combo.
ive been looking forward to this one for a while. if i were to look at my weapon usage in mh3u, 95% of my weapons usage is the sns. in mh4u, its probably the same thing. im probably gonna main striker, but use adept as a follow up maybe. the idea of spamming a 42 motion value attack is just so appealing to me.
i am in love with aerial style just because i can mount monsters 3-5 times a hunt and stun them with the shield bash/shoryugeki (i even punched an astalos out of the sky!). it's great for staying up and away from monster's attacks while keeping them down for combos
Man its like watching a baby grow up to become a superstar. I adore the sword and shield, and whilst it was good to use in other games, now it can finally be seen for its prettiness.
Wow, I went into this video definitely not expecting SnS to be totally ridiculous. Gotta try it when the game comes out. Another 'main weapon' for me besides the swaxe and the longsword, nice.
As a SnS main (which I have been going back to 3U), looking at the buffs they added in this... it is a dream. It is actually kinda scary how strong it looks to be. I am definitely excited to play Gen now and just have fun with the different styles!
I would like to point out that, if you communicate right, sending your teammates flying can actually be beneficial, since they can go into a jump attack. This only counts when a hunter is sent flying by an ally and not when sent flying by a monster.
10:09 its press A from a guard for the weak guard slash, not X. just saying in case you want to make an annotation for it. otherwise, really nice and incredibly well scripted tutorial. still kinda surprised you didnt give s bombing some extra time as it is pretty op in mhx/mhgen with high rank monsters heaving quite low hp.
I think I understand Adept style Gaijin. It's purpose on SnS is to act as a dodger who also can mount very easily since being SnS you are stabbing them in the shins and every time you do you go for a rodeo. It's basically Safe Aerial style, giving SnS their own utility like IG had as the mounting weapon in 4U but with the trade being the evade-all, which isn't necessarily bad since SnS has a bunch of short hits and easy dodge frames where you can ditch a combo to run face-first into an attack for free adept jumps.
I actually found Aerial SnS very fun while playing solo. You get an extra hit in when you do the jump which only a couple of other weapons use. Once the monster's down, I use the Sword Dance art and then follow up with a regular combo. I didn't switch to Striker Style until after I had reached Hunter Rank 8. That said, Striker and Guild seem to have the most benefits especially if there are other Aerial or Insect Glave users in your online party.
Remember that rolling into combos with SnS is actually extremely useful (especially with evade distance). If a monster does a back hop or side hop, just stop your combo, roll towards it and press X after the roll to start a new combo.
I'm only saying this because I LOVE YOU and your content is SO PROFESSIONAL: It's pronounced "versiTILity" not "versiTALity" likewise with "especially" that does NOT have a "C" in it Please don't hate me. I love your work and personality! Keep up the awesome professional content!
Before I begin, let me mention one thing the video neglects to mention... When using Adept, Guild, or Aerial, it is possible to use the back-hop move out of a guard stance. Just hold the stick in the direction opposite of the one your hunter is facing while your guard is up, then press A. In Adept style, this shows the most benefits, since you can time out the back hop Adept dodge for that lovely super counter soooo much easier. For a bit of fun, try using this on a monster, like a Tigrex or Rathalos, when it is charging at you from behind. Time the back hop right by pressing towards the monster that's coming at your back then press A, and you'll do a stylish back spin before leaping forwards and possibly smacking them in the ass as they run past you. Hit X+A to tag on a leaping two-hit mount-damage slash while you're at it! Now then... After playing for a long while with this weapon, I have to say that Adept is actually under-rated. Just like with dual swords, most of your attacks are coming off of a very short weapon, meaning you'll need to basically be hugging the monster to do decent consistent hits. This means that enemies like Rathalos and Blangonga, which can hit you merely by moving wrong thanks to their legs / arms having some hit frames when least expected, as well as some very fast forward-charging attacks, are a bigger threat than usual, because you'll literally be rubbing up against them at almost all times just to land some hits. This is where Adept style absolutely SHINES, because not only can you use this to your advantage through Adepting against these small nick damage hits for some very fast spacing, if the heat on your health from nick damage is getting a bit too intense, you can also use it as a way of punishing a small bit of otherwise small nick damage with that powerful back-hop counter, on top of some opportunities for mounting damage, which, if used correctly, basically means you don't really need Aerial style for the riding benefits. For players that find themselves wiffing specials often, and taking more damage, and using way more healing, than they'd like, I'd say the stylish counters of Adept are the best style to go with for SnS. You might not have that bread and butter X attack, but a quick 4-hit combo of R+X/A+X>X-X>X+A, followed by a roll or back hop then rinse and repeat, will help you maintain a reasonably high amount of elemental damage stacking, and if you're lucky, that back hop might even become an Adept hop into a counter.
I'm not sure if this works like it did in MH4U, but for the X+A charge attack off a ledge (the horizontal slash at 9:26) you should be able to do the same thing by doing a draw attack off a ledge. It should work the same for the upwards slash into a ledge.
Coming from MHW so going to probably use Guild to start then maybe Striker from there. Can't live without the backhop and charged slash in my hunting life after World.
I'm getting Monster Hunter soon and was wondering the following questions 1: are you stuck with a weapon after you choose it 2: can I try each weapon before making a decision 3: how far into the game do you have to be before you can play with friends
deathwarrior61 I don't know if you've bought it yet but... 1. No, you're not stuck with any weapon. In fact, you're given one of each type of weapon at the start. 2. Yes, you can go to the village and pick training quests for any weapon with any style. 3. Immediately, just go to to the multiplayer hub on your map or go up from the village and press x (or y I think, don't remember).
Edit: I didn't imagine Round Force would be this strong, considering it's a rapidly recharging safety move, I guess that's another reason why everyone uses Striker... With it charging this fast, there's barely any reason to use adept, considering Round Force can be executed at any time when it's usable. The two more hunter arts you get are also an added bonus, and Sword and Shield's ability to mount up and down ledges should still be as effective as in MH4U, *if only for the very first mount in the hunt.* An affinity of 30% is a total average attack boost of 7,5%, right? With Critical Boost, this then raises to 12%... Weakness Exploit raises affinity by 50% when striking weakpoints, meaning a total affinity of 80%, resulting in a damage boost of 20%, or 32% with Critical Boost! I'm definitely gonna have fun trying to find out which skills are going to be the most effective. And I'm also gonna have fun dealing critical hits 24/7... I'm guessing there must be at least one SnS with 20% Affinity... Right?
Yeah i agree, it's a shit decision not to have the third offensive art at your disposal. Still, it gives a good idea about how often you can use the special skills, and how powerful the weapon is.
At least the demo didn't do what the MH4 demo did and put the flagship monster as an enemy. That was just stupid and kinda of killed any suspense in the actual game when it came time to fight him.
Drakulas Kuroyami I actually had no issues with that. Then again in retrospect I never saw Gore as a serious threat once it came time to fight him, so maybe the demo was the reason.
i actually like to have absolute evasion, absolute readiness and round force with me. no need to dodge you can be fully aggressive and sharpen your weapon at the same time :)
I'm super excited for sword and shield specially with the new oils. my sword and shield gameplay pretty much revolves around the back steps so I probably won't use Stryker Style too much
I main SnS and I'm really glad it's still powerful, I was however hoping Adept style would be the best one for it, but since the Arts are so strong, I suppose it's undeniable that Striker is where it's at. (Back step, you will be missed. ;_;7) The OP nature of the SnS in Generations also worries me, I main SnS as I mentioned, but if I ever see a lot of people using the same weapon, I feel compelled to use something else for variety's sake, and I'm sure I'm going to be feeling that a lot considering how a lot of people single mindedly use the weapon that just happens to have the best numbers... Dammit...
its all good, every weapon has the True Raw showing now, so every weapons dmg values early game will be exactly the same. lets say a gs will have 250 at max, and SnS will also have 250. I prefer it like this because it shows that all weapons basically have the same base damage, its just that there are different multipliers to the damage.
Something that hasn't been mentioned yet (I think) is that Shoryugeki deals mounting damage on both the upward and downward attacks. Edit: Or at least I thought it did on the upward attacks (could've sworn I've mounted my fair share of Thunderlord Zinogres before landing the downward strike).

I'm new to the SnS but I wanna use it since some days, I discovered a Japanese hunter who only play SnS and it looks sooo cool and fun !
Hey, great video. Do you happen to have (or know of) a spreadsheet or website containing the motion values of all of these attacks? The video is great, again, but I kind of want to have the numbers laid out in front of me. I've tried googling it, but haven't found anything as of yet.
One thing I found in 4U was if you press Back+R+A, you'll to the backstep without needing to be in a combo. I don't know if it's in Gen or any styles but it's a way to get than backstep Adept evade if it's in Adept style.
Quiz time! If you could have any media referenced via MH DLC, what would the media be, and what would the DLC hunt/reward be? Personally, I want a localized Sgt. Frog mask, (or Keroro gunsou if you prefer the Japanese).
+Zach Salahdine (Aquamancer) It already has been at least once, they just censored it for licensing reasons (I think) in the english release. There was a hammer that looked exactly like crazy diamond that heals your teammates when hit.
Holy shit I can't fucking wait for MHG to be released. This game seems like the one that will convince me to try several different weapons. It may also be the first time I utilize the online features since MHTri. So much hype. Between the new styles and special attacks, and the addition of a blademaster/gunner combo weapon (because let's face it, Prowler mode is basically the 15th weapon, I definitely will not be picking my main weapon until weeks after release. I've always stuck with Great Sword since MH1, and 4U was the only game I used a different weapon (Charge Blade) for an extended period of time. Even though every weapon has a style which could be called the "best" I love the way everything is balanced. Also I fucking love the fact that they literally just gave us a shoryuken for a weapon art. Oh no, pardon me, it's a shoryugeki because there's no fist involved.
I remember Arekk said that Aerial felt like it was made for Dual Blades and Bushido/Adept felt like it was made for Long Sword. This video shows me that Striker was pretty much made for SnS. You lose pretty much nothing and get to use 3 arts when SnS has some of THE best arts in the whole game.
i've mained sns throughout mh4u and it was already great. I loved a supporting style and that is what i will use it for again. IMHO they should tone down the crit and exhaust oils a bit and tone down the damage on round force since it's so spammable in the next game to pull it back in line damage wise. I love the backhop but i feel kind of forced into round force because of its ridiculous damage output on such a low cooldown. 70 motion value, you kidding me ?!
And what about the Shoryugeki motion values? Stun and Exhaust is covered, but not the motion values, which seem to be pretty dang high, considering the long hit stop between each hit.
Oh my goodness. All them oils? All them Hunting Arts? Striker Style too good? Holy shit I'm in love. I feel like I'll be using Striker SNS for quite a long time,
this is my dream I have never been so moist in my entire life to see SNS be this glorious I have mained that shit till end game along with gunlance from MHFRU because I love how you can be so aggressive with SNS
Oh, probably will be using Guild then, and maybe adept. Kinda sad to see charged backhop go in adept, but oh well. Only got into SnS in 4U, but man was it fun. This, Lance (or gl, not sure yet) and bow will be my go-to
(this is an opinion comment, if you don't care about others' opinions, don't read it.) When you figure out both of the two weapons I'm about to talk about, they can easily out-match the Sword and Shield; Hammer and Switch Axe The hammer all you really have to do is spam Hunter Arts and Charged attacks and it's already strong enough when you do that. The Switch Axe has a lot of strong combos, though Attack with X twice, Press A, then press Right Trigger then X twice again for a devastating combo Its final tier Demon Riot decimates literally anything, it can kill Great Maccao and the Dromes in under a minute aaand yeah Switch Axe is probably my choice
iirc you can still use idle A combo in aerial style after you land jump attack, land with X slam, then press A, and you'll do the idle A on guild style, cmiiw
I was thinking of picking a different weapon as my main playthrough weapon for the next MH game , like Gunlance or Switch Axe, but the SnS is just too awesome, so I don't really wanna use anything else.
Goldar Rag yeah, that’s what I did. And you know what I found out? I can’t do a charge slash in striker style. So now I just use guild and aerial because the charge is way too fun to pass up.
Very nice tutorial, I can't wait to try this weapon out in MH Generations! But I have a question: What are the motion values of the Shoruygeki? You're only showing stun and exhaust values, but how strong is the move actually? :D

+Mario Perez AMEN! I main SnS since MH Tri and I can't wait to get my hands on MHGen :D
I've only played MH4U but the SnS has always been my go to weapon. Glad to see it buffed.

jp mesquita They announced it just a few days ago, yes. Monster Hunter Generations is going to be out come July 15th in the US.

well, GH just posted a video about it lol
jp mesquita It all works out then. :D
I've been waiting for this! Hype train!
Hey Gaijin, great video. If I could suggest one thing, when talking about a move, could you perhaps also add some icons/subtitles to the buttons you're pressing . I know you're saying it but having it being shown would be really handy too.
Keep up the great work!
my fav wep along gunlance since freedom to mhp3rd. I love how they still improve sns through out mh games. cant wait to have 3ds.
12:50 actually, I experimented with the adept backstep and I learned that you can do it out of a guard stance! Making adept sns surprisingly effective!
I bet I'm the only one who finds his voice wholesome.
Man, if Aerial style is the weakest for status, I need to try out the other styles again. All I've done is aerial, and status effect/elemental damage has been pretty damn great.
I usually use dual blades for heavy elemental

sns is one of the best weapons actually.
even in mh4u.
in the hands of a good hunter it will demolish everything faster than most other weapons.
also, two words:
stylish bombing
same there, but checking your number Egression has 740 dragon, still the highest drag element in SnS and I think in any other weapons, and you can also hone it for a bonus 30 base
+MasterRJ you can bump the number higher with skillz
Man when his daughter said "Shoryugeki" when the hunter was doing the move I lost it that was amazing =w=
That should be in the real game!
You ask in the description "what are you waiting for?". We're waiting for the release.
+Apex Konchu or just at least teh demo
For me Shoryugeki is the Stars and Stripes super of Captain America from the Vs series
argh! ahhh! shield slash!
Final Justice!! Good work, soldier.
Yesss my main weap. Good video. I didn't really know what the oils did b4! Exhaust seems OP
Started with MH3U and mained SnS. It's nice to see that in generations I'll get to play basically the MH3U style of SnS play but buffed to all hell.
Finally, my favorite weapon~
Thank for making this vid!
can't wait to see the IG guide, recently started having a lot of fun with it, I haven't looked at weapons in the game, but really hoping for zinogre or nargacuga glaive
Just a minor note for the aerial style- when you trigger the vertical jump, you have a short i-frame while performing the rising attack. Plenty of attacks can be evaded by jumping into them just before they go off (I'm looking at you Glavenus spin)
Problem is that you're vulnerable to attacks that strike you while in the air.
ketogen, Jumping off a Glavenus spin is soooo satisfying
I just start playing a MH for real, really nice video, thanks dude.
Totally gonna do a KO SnS set when I get this game. So excited, never been hyped for anything this much!
I'm liking SnS even more, it's always been my favorite weapon, and now it's even stronger. I like how every oil has a use (Been thinking of using the red oil when using a status set to take advantage of status crit)
Great tutorial video +gaijin hunter! Keep it up!
I adore the sword and shield, and whilst it was good to use in other games, now it can finally be seen for its prettiness.
when you use a shield bash with the exhaust oil on. Does the stun damage stack?
i would assume so
Wow, I went into this video definitely not expecting SnS to be totally ridiculous.
Yea dude it's almost too good. Newer player (MH4U) but the SnS has always been my go to.
I'm only saying this because I LOVE YOU and your content is SO PROFESSIONAL:
It's pronounced "versiTILity" not "versiTALity"
likewise with "especially" that does NOT have a "C" in it
Please don't hate me. I love your work and personality! Keep up the awesome professional content!
There's always one of you guys on RUclips... let the man pronounce his words as he desires!
:/
Been mostly using SnS in 4U, can't wait for this in Gen!
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE. YAY. SnS is Love, SnS is life.
I pretty much got it down myself from practice, though I had no idea that there was a back evade. Thanks.
This is a good tutorial to kick start with a choice of weapon.
I really love what they did with my favorite weapon this time around. July 15th can't come fast enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's the motion value for Shoryugeki? You only listed KO and exhaust
Great!
I have been waiting for this, now i need the IG guide.
July 15th, godbless
I'm not sure if this works like it did in MH4U, but for the X+A charge attack off a ledge (the horizontal slash at 9:26) you should be able to do the same thing by doing a draw attack off a ledge. It should work the same for the upwards slash into a ledge.
Coming from MHW so going to probably use Guild to start then maybe Striker from there. Can't live without the backhop and charged slash in my hunting life after World.
I'm getting Monster Hunter soon and was wondering the following questions
1: are you stuck with a weapon after you choose it
2: can I try each weapon before making a decision
3: how far into the game do you have to be before you can play with friends
deathwarrior61 I don't know if you've bought it yet but...
The two more hunter arts you get are also an added bonus, and Sword and Shield's ability to mount up and down ledges should still be as effective as in MH4U, *if only for the very first mount in the hunt.*
An affinity of 30% is a total average attack boost of 7,5%, right?
With Critical Boost, this then raises to 12%...
Weakness Exploit raises affinity by 50% when striking weakpoints, meaning a total affinity of 80%, resulting in a damage boost of 20%, or 32% with Critical Boost!
I'm definitely gonna have fun trying to find out which skills are going to be the most effective.
And I'm also gonna have fun dealing critical hits 24/7...
I'm guessing there must be at least one SnS with 20% Affinity... Right?
+Mike Rider Crit's for days.
Sword and Shield is my fav... Love them from the beginning...
Whenever I have trouble killing a monster, I always go to sns! I did that alot in P3rd. Great video!
Can't wait to get the Stonefist Armor set OuO
(Currently HR6 with most of the Key Quests finished, just the Duramboros and Q.Seltas one finished)
Thank you for the amazing video!
It's so stupid that Striker SnS in the demo doesn't have Blade Dance but instead Absolute Evasion....
So the arts are customizable? I was worried it was replaced, because it looks so cool.
If so, good good good.
Drakulas Kuroyami
I actually had no issues with that. Then again in retrospect I never saw Gore as a serious threat once it came time to fight him, so maybe the demo was the reason.
i actually like to have absolute evasion, absolute readiness and round force with me.
no need to dodge you can be fully aggressive and sharpen your weapon at the same time :)
thanks for the motivation aevanko sensei
I'm super excited for sword and shield specially with the new oils. my sword and shield gameplay pretty much revolves around the back steps so I probably won't use Stryker Style too much
i play solo yet i use SnS aerial style. The aerial make the game easier imo. Mounting monster is so much fun ahaha
My favorite is adept, since you get mounting hits after a dodge or a powerful uppercut if you do a back step
+Psalm Weems maybe i will pick different weapon for adept style. LS adept look good.
Oh man, can't wait.
I main SnS and I'm really glad it's still powerful, I was however hoping Adept style would be the best one for it, but since the Arts are so strong, I suppose it's undeniable that Striker is where it's at. (Back step, you will be missed. ;_;7)
The OP nature of the SnS in Generations also worries me, I main SnS as I mentioned, but if I ever see a lot of people using the same weapon, I feel compelled to use something else for variety's sake, and I'm sure I'm going to be feeling that a lot considering how a lot of people single mindedly use the weapon that just happens to have the best numbers... Dammit...
I've never used the SnS that much, I learned how to use it properly on MH4U... I guess I'll a LOT more in Gen, Striker SnS it's insanely overpowered.
its all good, every weapon has the True Raw showing now, so every weapons dmg values early game will be exactly the same. lets say a gs will have 250 at max, and SnS will also have 250.
I'm new to the SnS but I wanna use it since some days, I discovered a Japanese hunter who only play SnS and it looks sooo cool and fun !
dang, flying sns looks really fun. Will definitely be using that slam for dayz.
Hey, great video. Do you happen to have (or know of) a spreadsheet or website containing the motion values of all of these attacks? The video is great, again, but I kind of want to have the numbers laid out in front of me. I've tried googling it, but haven't found anything as of yet.
Holy shit, I'm a sns main and I've never seen anything like this! Finally people will see how powerful sns really is!
That bushido backhop invade looks straight out of an action movie or shounen anime.
One thing I found in 4U was if you press Back+R+A, you'll to the backstep without needing to be in a combo. I don't know if it's in Gen or any styles but it's a way to get than backstep Adept evade if it's in Adept style.
Confirmed in the demo that this does work. This lets you position your Adept evade of a roar fairly easily.
You show it at 10:16 but I don't think you mention that you can do that.
Pyroniusburn Yeah, the localized version was original and is called the "Majestic Scepter".
Nicholas Cuevas Yeah thanks, couldn't remember the name of it.
Gundam.
The reward would be a Lance based on the RX-78-2's Beam Javelin and shield.
And some headgear that resemble Haro.
I really enjoy these tutorial vidoes so thank you for that. Also just for your own benefit it's pronounced versatility not tality :)
Still waiting for that LBG tutorial.
It already exist
Darius Pickney where is it?
+BuRgY I'm not sure, but I think I'm talking about someone else's video
what's a Light Bow Gun?
Chara are you new to the game?
Go back to listing combo inputs as texts too!!! Great video btw :D.
I love using Back A as a part of Adept Style.
i've mained sns throughout mh4u and it was already great.
I feel like I'll be using Striker SNS for quite a long time,
It's so ridiculous... Striker SnS it's THE SH*T.
this is my dream I have never been so moist in my entire life to see SNS be this glorious
I have mained that shit till end game along with gunlance from MHFRU because I love how you can be so aggressive with SNS
+christian diaz 4 types of oil lube to make you moist, your pick
Oh, probably will be using Guild then, and maybe adept. Kinda sad to see charged backhop go in adept, but oh well.
Only got into SnS in 4U, but man was it fun.
This, Lance (or gl, not sure yet) and bow will be my go-to
Watching your all your tutorials it's getting harder and harder to decide which weapon to main.
(this is an opinion comment, if you don't care about others' opinions, don't read it.)
When you figure out both of the two weapons I'm about to talk about, they can easily out-match the Sword and Shield;
Hammer and Switch Axe
The hammer all you really have to do is spam Hunter Arts and Charged attacks and it's already strong enough when you do that.
The Switch Axe has a lot of strong combos, though
Attack with X twice, Press A, then press Right Trigger then X twice again for a devastating combo
Its final tier Demon Riot decimates literally anything, it can kill Great Maccao and the Dromes in under a minute
aaand yeah Switch Axe is probably my choice
iirc you can still use idle A combo in aerial style after you land
jump attack, land with X slam, then press A, and you'll do the idle A on guild style, cmiiw
I was thinking of picking a different weapon as my main playthrough weapon for the next MH game , like Gunlance or Switch Axe, but the SnS is just too awesome, so I don't really wanna use anything else.
Well dang, I’ve been using aerial for my SnS this whole time. I guess I’ll try striker style for a change.
Kolab *Experimentation* is Generations' second name. Use whatever you want, anything works, really.
Goldar Rag yeah, that’s what I did. And you know what I found out? I can’t do a charge slash in striker style. So now I just use guild and aerial because the charge is way too fun to pass up.
Kolab Whatever is your preference, man. Generations just gives so many ways of gameplay that everyone can find their sweetspot.
Goldar Rag Yeah, that’s what I like about it.
Very nice tutorial, I can't wait to try this weapon out in MH Generations!
But I have a question: What are the motion values of the Shoruygeki? You're only showing stun and exhaust values, but how strong is the move actually? :D
