I went through a Dwight Yoakum phase (and George Strait, Ricky Skaggs, and Randy Travis) in the late 80s - early 90s. Glad to know people are still listening to him.
Greetings from Finland. Great! In 1986 I drove around the south for four weeks with a friend of mine in a rented car. After all these years this is still the tune that I associate with the trip. They played it all the time on the radio. I still remember when we listened to a program called "Country Music Countdown" and realized it wasn't number 1 on the list. I remember we were very surprised. In fact; I still am...
Yea I think of Sling Blade. As well as being a country music legend he is also an awesome actor who is willing to take unglamorous roles and transform into the character he is playing. He is a walking, boot scootin' bundle of talent.
I met a band from Alberta called Hot Cargo (Played at the Esquimalt Inn back when) & The lead sounded exactly like Dwight Yoakam! (the drummer was HOT! & mine for a time).....

@mymusic777ify Agree with all the things about Sharon Stone. Still I like the quote. It's one for the ages. Were I Dwight Yoakum, I'd be proud of the quote, that I could excite such emotion from a woman.
@1Rockbilly He was born in Kentucky and raised in Ohio, so I guess that makes us both right enough. I lived in Columbus for 8 years myself, and loved it there.
@Diamondguyrt You're not the only one.... Something about the way that guys plays that Tele... So simple yet so beautiful. (forgive me for not knowing the name of the guy playing the Tele)
Hearing that women were having toes removed to fit into smaller shoes. my wife asked, "Could that shed light on how Dwight Yoakam gets into those pants?"
@mymusic777ify From what I hear about how nice your country is (may I please emigrate), I would not give up my Norwegian citizenship in order to listen to Dwight, as great as he is.
Highwaymen 2 - Dwight, Garth, Alan and Randy. Would one hell of a concert.

This is the same concert as the "Dwight Live" album; this wasn't included, though
Thank you for posting this performance. It was omitted from the "Dwight Live" album, for some reason.

Sharon Stone, who dated him, is famously quoted as saying, "A dirt sandwich is better than Dwight Yoakum." :-)
