Why am I watching this old performance filmed badly? Because the music/talent is phenomenal. Super talented Dwight, his magnificent band especially his dreamboat guitarist take you for the ride of your life in that long white Cadillac. Amazing!
Its true Dean, but that's the whole problem ,Pete needed to realise the star is Dwight and thats who the fans come to see.I think Eddie from the mavericks was awesome with Dwight too, plus he does great harmonies
yes! the crap they play today isnt what I grew up on ,,, most artists from the old days wouldnt even be played on radio today,,,, big money has killed REAL country,,, and todays artists let it happen,, the last real country star of our era,,,, George Straight has just retired ,,, country wont ever be tha same again.
The audio track is from the "Dwight Live" CD recorded at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco; one of the most astonishing live albums of =any= kind ever made available to the general public.
Ah! The Warfield Theater show in 'Frisco where "Dwight Live" was recorded. Pete's post-production engineering and guitar work made that THE rockabilly CD to own in the '90s.
Somehow, I find it very hard to think that The Blasters originally cut this song, as their version is very different and fast-paced. Dwight's version sounds a lot like something the late Stevie Ray Vaughan would've recorded; I could tell by Pete Anderson's guitar licks!
always been a fave song of mine since I was little. ...my mom said I used to dance around in the livingroom in front of the record player at my grandparents house...while his songs played. haha love it
Amazing on stage chemistry!!..and Pete was the best producer of Dwight's music without a doubt not to mention a phenom on guitar. Best collaboration ever.
Every time I hear this song it sparks a wild streak in me.

Yup same here. Dwight is "heavy", wether he's considered country or whatever 👍
Dwight definitely blurs the line between country and rockabilly. Love it!

Its true Dean, but that's the whole problem ,Pete needed to realise the star is Dwight and thats who the fans come to see.I think Eddie from the mavericks was awesome with Dwight too, plus he does great harmonies

Why is this video so blurry? Boot legged?
Low resolution. This concert which aired on Disney was never released to DVD.
What year was this?
I think 1994
Pete Johnson
I would recon your about right. 1994. I graduated in 96 and I listened to this album all the time.
Jesus Christ!
Why did Dwight can Eddie?
Not trying to be a buzzkill, but I wish there was a bit more focus on the bassist, especially towards the end. This song rips on bass.
song originally by The Blasters
