This is honestly my first time listening to Dwight Yoakam and I can say I will definitely be listening to more of his music. I thought to myself that Austin City Limits is a great place to start. I am loving watching old live performances and some newer ones. I knew Country could be great but growing up I only heard modern pop country that I did not like. I thought to myself that I needed to explore so I did and its one of the best things I have done for my music curiosity. Im so grateful that this is available for my listening pleasure. Anyone else who is listening in 2023 you have great taste in music btw.

There’s plenty of country artists still around, they just aren’t on the radio much. Try Colter Wall, Sturgill Simpson, Cody Jinks is pretty good. Jamey Johnson was really big but hasn’t put out much lately.

I love guitar transition from their intro tune, right into the opening guitar riff
Back when Country was badass!! Still the only man that can truly rock Skinny Bootlegs !!

That lead guitar player is one of the best in the business.
Pete Anderson is Dwight’s Keith Richards. It’s never been the same since they spilt.

Missin' Buck and Don too.
I first caught Dwight during the LA punk/roots music scene in the early 80s. Been a fan ever since.
Dwight, the great representation of COW PUNK, I HEAR YOU BROTHER!!!!
I swear Dwight could sing the damn phone book and I'd listen to it all day long on repeat!
