HE AWAITS ME IN HEAVEN SINCE OCT 5, 2013.
This song reminds me about my wife. Yes, hell is where it will get you if you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Country music will not save your soul. 1 John 2:15-17 New Living Translation 15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. James 4:4 New Living Translation 4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God." Mark 8:36 New Living Translation 36 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
My daughter was six in the backseat singing How Far Is Heaven, then asked me, Moma, how far is Heaven? Because I don't like this world. I was shocked. I told her she was here for a job to do for God. Then she could go home. I am sharing this with her right now. SHE'S GONNA LOVE IT! She saw yall at the GA State Fair in Perry. She snuck under the stage and yall were so nice to her, even gave her an autographed blow up toy

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Man guys I know how Yll feel lost my Brother in December 2020 May thy R.I.P😎

I lost my mother 3 years ago and, in terms of pain, it feels like it happened just yesterday... But don't forget about one simple thing... Good people don't die when they descend into the grave! They die only if they descend into oblivion. So, as long we will remeber them, they'll be still with us. This is how I learned to live with that lost. God bless you all!
Sorry for your loss. Your grandma knew good music.
I'm not even country and I appreciate this man so much. My mother told me to play this at her funeral.... It's the only time I will dread hearing this song...... :,(
Hello there Cody nice meeting you here

@@fredjensen2712 ciao Fred!come stai?🙋😍😘💝🌲
I’m 75 and still love his songs!
When country music still had some heart
Amen
And that most of the country artists of today’s music sounded too smiler to one another or sounded sameness and sing about the boring same old red sundress of a girl, a big truck and a nice cold beer lol.
This man is legit. I’m loving this dudes music. He’s amazing! 👌
Exactly
therealcobra - Give it a rest.
@@stevenmorris2234 love Hank Williams Sr too that's real country! And I love Randy Travis ,he's real country tho of a younger generation. I don't listen to new stuff.
I absolutely love this song. Dwight is one of the best and finally getting recognized for it.
Dwight isn't just a great singer but also a great actor. He was an incredibly believable monster in "Sling Blade." A flawless interpretation of an abusive alcoholic, worthy of an Oscar.
Same in “Panic Room”
@@insideoutsideupsidedown2218I really love his songs that' mic
We don't need to FUCKIN practice, RANDY!
Dont forget Doc Miles in Crank and Crank 2. Oh, and a small roll in the beginning of Wedding Crashers.
Cry Macho....great acting with rooster boi and Clint Eastwood and Eduardo Minett
I'm 85 years old, love country music since I was 6 years, this is one of my favorite songs. Also huge Elvis fan, have just about all his music
I probably haven’t listened to this song since 94-95. It literally just popped into my head out of nowhere and had to come listen. I forgot how incredible it is
Dwight wrote this song the day after Roy Orbisom died
In memory and respect
If you listen closely to the guitar work and the lyrics
He nailed it
awesome did not know that...definitely makes sense; the cadence and rhythm of his voice...loved Roy too!
There is a interview with hin explaining this
I will try to send it to you
I am almost 70 and just getting educated about this interweb thing
Learning to navigate it
I will do my worst
Haha
Ya he did 😊
Wow. Makes sense
Wow
Back when country music had sustenance. Not just whiskey, drinking problems, hay rides and sitting in a ford barefooted
That's no lie.
✌
And people who could sing.
@@olive3700 Give me a break. There are plenty of people today who can sing. You're just a tired old cliche'.
Sustenance?? I don't think you know what that word means.
If we could possibly be at peace with one another, what a grand day that would be.
Everything about this tune is perfect: the songwriting, execution, and production. Perfect. The kind of tune that could be 30 minutes long and still be too short because you just want more of it. Thanks Dwight!
He found a perfect partner in Pete Anderson for that production and execution.
Wll said. I love him he's perfect 🥰 💞 😍
I just Love Him 😍
I LOVE him..yes he is perfect 💕
❤❤❤ WOW! I CAN'T STOP COMMENTING ABOUT DWIGHT YOAKAM AND THIS SONG. IT'S AWESOME AND BRINGS SO MANY MEMORIES OF WHEN MY HUSBAND BOUGHT ME MY LITTLE SPORTS CAR.
A 1986 DATSUN 280 ZX WITH
GLASS T ROOFS, AWESOME STEREO SOUND SYSTEM, COMPUTERIZED DASH AND LOADED TO THE HILT!
MY HUSBAND WAS A GOOD MAN. HIS WAY OF TELLING ME HE LOVED ME WAS HE BROUGHT ME MATERIAL THINGS. HE WAS NEVER ONE
TO SAY, "I LOVE YOU"!
I LONGED TO HEAR HIM TELL ME THAT HE, LOVED ME.
THAT'S THE ONLY THING I REGRET! HE AWAITS ME IN HEAVEN SINCE OCT 5, 2013.
I’m a rock n roller but I’ll always love good music no matter what genre it is! Love DY!
Hello. How are you doing today? Thank you so much for your love and support ❤🎉🎸
Great road song .
This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our heart😊
Ditto!
True
Masterpieces like this never get old or go out of style
True country

Hello Caterina, how are you doing, I hope you're doing great. Am Harry from Denver Colorado, where are you from if you don't mind.😊🍒🌹
Yes indeed!🥰🥰🥰
As a 24 year old Las Vegas kid, Dwight might be my favorite country singer ever. I have family ties in Memphis, TN, a family member showed me his music. Honestly blown away. Should undoubtedly be in the country music hall of fame. Unique voice, unique style, unique dance moves and tight jeans😂 I was told that Dwight was a HUGE deal in his prime, a superstar, and I understand why. “Turn it on, turn it up, turn me loose” is in my top 10 of favorite songs EVER. 🙌🏽🇺🇸
Never get tired of hearing this song!
Me either
Me neither , Gav Walsh Australia xxx
Reminds me of a sweet woman I met in 1990❤
This dude is by far my favorite country singer
Love his style. One of a kind.

Ditto to that Jenny! I love this song too! ever since it came out, It's exactly in my vocal range, and I sing in a Church choir, so every Saturday morning this goes on, cranked right up, so I can let my total voice out, and get it warmed up. I'll say a prayer for you next time I sing it, and remember, we will all be back together one day! Cheers.
Country Music on its best. When Country was Country and when the music was genuine. Miss those times.
The man sings with his heart and soul. Loving him in 2022
30 years on! It just never gets old! He was at the top of his game here

Yes, hell is where it will get you if you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Country music will not save your soul. 1 John 2:15-17 New Living Translation
15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
James 4:4 New Living Translation
4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God."
Mark 8:36 New Living Translation
36 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
My daughter was six in the backseat singing How Far Is Heaven, then asked me, Moma, how far is Heaven? Because I don't like this world.
I was shocked. I told her she was here for a job to do for God. Then she could go home. I am sharing this with her right now. SHE'S GONNA LOVE IT!
She saw yall at the GA State Fair in Perry. She snuck under the stage and yall were so nice to her, even gave her an autographed blow up toy
One of my all-time favorites, you can feel the emotion in his voice.
