I was REALLY lucky! I spent a long time as a disc jockey in Country radio and I got to interview Waylon numerous times. Most of the time we just chatted on the phone, but sometimes the interviews got really deep as we talked seriously about music. Waylon was a GREAT human being. First I want to thank RUclips. This site is just excellent for anything you want to see and hear. If I ever strike it rich I will open a radio station and play all of this great country music you never ever hear anymore. Having just watched Ken Burns Country Music on PBS, I was reminded of all this great music you never hear anymore. Waylon Jennings forever as well as Merle, Cash and countless others. God Bless them all. Thank You.
My favourite singer and guitar player ever... a unique sound. When you heard it, you knew it was Waylon. I listen to him everyday. Fell in love about 45 years ago and then in the 70's, I discovered him again in a different way. It will be for life because there are no other like him so far.
This must have taken place just before or after he quit cocaine. He sounds much better than he did a year before, but his voice improved even more, especially after he quit smoking about 4 years later. Sure do miss Ol' Waylon
Love Waylon Jennings he is still here in mine and Tony's hearts. He's still the best that there will ever be. Never be another one like him and we will see you again one day. More singing, God has a very special angel in Waylon , Love you ☝💞
I love this song and miss this man. He was disrespected in Country Music when he was alive and he still is even in death. Waylon to me what Johnny is to everyone else true talent.
AWESOME!!! Love Waylon. Have my wall plastered with his pics. Nobody like him. Thanks for sharing. Never too old to enjoy Waylon even though I have great-grandchildren.
I love Waylon when he's in a good mood. I love his smile, his laugh, his gravelly voice, his joking around (telling the cigarette to stay right there), his singing, his playing, and don't even get me started on his good looks....I guess I just love Waylon, pure and simple!
Thank You my dear friend for your lovely comment ... you really nailed the words ... encapsulating the very reason I originally did like to post this video for all of us enjoy! :-) I wish you a wonderful time further :-) Stephan
Linda Bollinger one of the things most people either don’t realize or forget about him was how he came up in the music industry. He started back when people went to a show to be entertained and he learned from some of the best there was.
We had the pleasure of seeing what may well have been one of the most influential groups of country legends of this or any century when we enjoyed Waylon, Willie, Tompall & of course one of Country Music's most beautiful ladies ever, Jessie Coulter (or Mrs. Waylon, whichever you prefer). It was at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton Virginia and they were amazing. I'll never forget that when the show ended and the lights came up, the smoke was so thick it was like a thick fog in there. (And just so we're clear, very little of it was cigarette smoke (if you know what I mean...lol)
I have always loved Waylon, even before he sang country. Sure glad that he did not get on that plane with Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the "Big Bopper" on February 5, 1959, "The Day the Music Died".
He gave up his seat to the big bopper. Buddy Holly told him " hope your ole bus freezes up ". Waylons reply was " I hope your planes crashes" he lived with that for years always said he was living on borrowed time
As a Limey at 19 I was introduced to country music driving to small towns across Alberta Canada for several years from 1974 to 1980. Once you left the city all you could get was small town radio stations. I latched on pretty darn quick. I listened to all the greats but my all time favorite was and still is Faster Horses, Younger woman yes haw.
Waylon will always one of my favorite country music and heroes because he played what he wanted and the record companies respect him and he loved his country and he always put on a great concert.
If you walk to the beat of Waylon's music , you have a tendency to carry yourself with pure confidence and people will get the hell out of your way! Tyr it sometime!!
“Maybe it was maybe it wasn’t about “him. Genius lyrics and performance. Rest in heaven Waylon we miss your songs and all the ones we didn’t get to hear. Prayers fior Mrs. Jessie and fam from the fans. This is legendary playing and sangin.I’ve always been crazy but it kept me from going insane by the Grace of God. Thank you Jesus and Waylon and band for a piece of country music history.

that's what countrmusic should be about today!
I'll be honest, I've never been a huge Waylon Jennings fan...but yes, he was infinitely better than the crap music we've got nowadays.
My father loved this man ! My Mother loves Sinatra 🎼⭐️⭐️. I’m 57 and got much of my era too 🌈
If you walk to the beat of Waylon's music , you have a tendency to carry yourself with pure confidence and people will get the hell out of your way!
Hello how are you? So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song
@@davidholton9667 I am still listening to Waylon and thankful to be alive!
@@maryannproffitt44 Nice to hear from you. Where are you from?
@@davidholton9667 why does that seem to be the same question everyone asks? What if I don’t want to share my location with everyone and just like to watch videos and listen to music. Nothing personal, thanks!
@@maryannproffitt44 That's okay
I've always been crazy, it's kept me from going insane... so true
Rest in peace Waylon Jennings
