I think that many of these companies would like to embrace more global/alternative approaches to working. For example, notice how they touched on the typically strict working hours (5:00). I think it's a rebranding, supported by most Japanese companies, and the government.
The Day in the Life Of are one my favorite things to watch ever, I think I’ve seen them all 3-4 times. I would LOVE to see a behind the scenes video. Just showing how you film these and how you get all the amazing shots you do!
Kei-kun is soooo adorable. I am glad his parent have time for him. I expect them both to be super busy but they actually have a better time spare compare to a lot of other jobs
I really enjoy the “Day in the Life” series. Such a nice way to see Japanese work culture and the daily lives of people with varying professions. Keep up the great work!
I wonder how big Paolo's team is. coordinating with all these offices, shooting all this footage, editing seems like a mammoth set of tasks. Top notch quality as always!
Tokyo has very high living costs, so yes. It's expensive to rent. Note how long the engineer has to commute from his home to work - it's probably not affordable to be closer to the downtown core, even on a 2 household income with both households in professional jobs.
Seeing Kei-kun go to Kumon after class reminded me of my childhood, though I wasn’t raised in Japan. Kumon classes were helpful to me, I hope they also help Kei in his studies! So lovely to see parents be caring despite being career people.
My step dad was Japanese. When he was alive he was always doing something. Watching these videos it confirms what I already knew about Japanese workers, they are very motivated and a very hard working people. I admire them!
@@asap6512 That is very much true for older generation that were born after WWII until the 60s/70s. But change is in place. Coincidentally, I'm an Aerospace engineering student that just finished a small paper on methods to remove orbital debris! Which is exactly what his company does. Well that's my random fact of the day, thanks for sharing these people's stories! 😁
It might be hard because usually parents are pretty picky about their kids being filmed. There would have to be a lot of post-production work to blur out the children’s faces.
You can tell that it isn’t his wife at 1:00, because they are both briefly in frame while the camera is moving. I’d guess that it’s Paolo, and then he pretends to meet them at the train station
I'm pretty sure the whole "meeting the person" part is just some side footage that's staged. You can see this clearly in the day in the life video with kimono mom Moe and Sutan. When Paolo knocks on the front door, it cuts to Moe getting up to go open the front door, and you can see that her coffee is already on the table. When Paolo enters their home, the next thing that happens is she makes her coffee. So the whole knocking on the door thing was just something that Paolo filmed after the fact.
DANG THIS WAS SO AMAZING!! Love the space career, I went to NASA in Houston and have really been into the space studies~~ I thank Takashi for allowing us in his home and the offices were amazing with the robots. Kei-Kun is such an adorable baby TwT lovely family! Thank you for sharing!!

Paolo, great and interesting vid! I'm sure you aren't sneaking around the offices you go to, so perhaps in a Q & A you could talk about how you find your subjects and how you negotiate access. Best to you, Maiko, and Wolfy! The machine with a spindle looked like either a lathe or perhaps a winding machine to make electromagnetic coils, probably for actuators in the grasping process.

I like how he's wearing a t-shirt and jeans and not a suit like lots of other japanese workplaces lol that's a true scientist, and is very similar to west in a way I didn't expect, along with the flexible hours
Yes it's nice indeed
Looks like fun job to do.
@@Go4Broke247 cool and fantastic job....
typical engineers workspace imo
West is shit 🤮
Japanese cleaning habits doesn't stop just on earth
dang really underrated im laughing omg!
dont others get it they try to clean space("beyond earth space") as well
Such an underrated comment in legit wheezing
Really underrated comment.
im laughing too😁😁
Astroscale is such a sick company, mad respect to him and to you Paolo for bagging that interview.
am i the only one who literally screamed aloud when they got the notification
my heart was overjoyed.
I nearly fell off my bed. I enjoyed it😁👌🏿
Had to put learning Japanese on hold soon as I saw the notification.
i literally cheered when i saw it on my recommended LOL
Morgan Holman. Lol. I got really happy as well.
That kid was a bundle of energy. Fantastic episode, it looks like an amazingly challenging but rewarding job.
Man their job is sooo cool. Love how Takashi helps out a lot at home. Wonder if he wants his son to follow in his footsteps career wise. I love these videos!! Keep up the amazing work Paolo
I should get my husband to help me more, too lol idk how he is coping rn cause i am in greece for national service currently i mean he tells me he is fine and can do all work but i think when coming back the house will be a complete disaster ngl 😂
please dont ever stop this series! Absolutely awesome, and the format is my favourite to eat dinner to!
Always make me smile when stuff like this comes out, thank you, Paolo.
I definitely want to see "day in the life of a Japanese 4 year old"
Next: A Day in the Life of Kei-Kun
Jeff Chill THAT I’d watch!
We'd all be exhausted by he end of it, lol
I want to see him rush into random restaurants wearing a uniform and perform his food checks on everyone before they take a bite
love kei'kuns energy, he stole the show whenever on screen. natural charisma
I’m always amazed that these companies let you into their offices, but love the videos :)
I think it's the other way around. The company invited him into their offices (for marketing, advertisement, etc).
@@nurhusni I think so as well.
I think that many of these companies would like to embrace more global/alternative approaches to working.
For example, notice how they touched on the typically strict working hours (5:00).
I think it's a rebranding, supported by most Japanese companies, and the government.

For those curious, the satellite that Takashi is working on is scheduled to launch sometime in November.
Takashi: work to clean space from debris.
Elon: work to send 50.000 satellites in the sky.
Who will win? The cleaner or the polluter?
looks like it’s tethered to a balloon
“Day in the life” could easily become a RUclips series, Thank you, I find them very nice to watch
I just love how invlovled this father is, and the fact that this family doesn't overwhelm the Mother as well... Is beautiful to see
The Day in the Life Of are one my favorite things to watch ever, I think I’ve seen them all 3-4 times. I would LOVE to see a behind the scenes video. Just showing how you film these and how you get all the amazing shots you do!
He's a space engineer yet their living lifestyle is so simple.. 👏
Paolo is like: "Don't mind me, I'm definitely not a Chinese spy; just do your usual classfied stuff and tell me more about that arm."
isn't paolo philipino tho?
He is Filipino btw
🤣🤣
That’s kinda racist lmao
@@thefudanshi Really? Paolo is aPhilippine guy?
Kei-kun is soooo adorable. I am glad his parent have time for him. I expect them both to be super busy but they actually have a better time spare compare to a lot of other jobs
I really enjoy the “Day in the Life” series. Such a nice way to see Japanese work culture and the daily lives of people with varying professions. Keep up the great work!
I want to see:
A day in the life of Haruka(IT CONSULTANT)
Exactly!
Awesome idea.
EDIT: and then, a day in the life of their nusery school son.
Love he balance all his responsibilities. A man to admire.
this makes me appreciate all the things mom and dad did for me while growing up. Love you guys!
OMG Kei-kun is so adorable! "Day in the life of" videos are my fav. Keep it coming. Do one about Japanese zoo keepers, please!
I wonder how big Paolo's team is. coordinating with all these offices, shooting all this footage, editing seems like a mammoth set of tasks. Top notch quality as always!
Holy shit! Gaming as familytime? I'm so jealous right now.
This seems like an amazing family. Takashi spending so much time with his son, Kei is really lucky
What a lovely couple. It's surprising with such high powered jobs that they live in such a compact apartment. Is that just what Tokyo is like?
Tokyo has very high living costs, so yes. It's expensive to rent. Note how long the engineer has to commute from his home to work - it's probably not affordable to be closer to the downtown core, even on a 2 household income with both households in professional jobs.
My exact thoughts!
@@bloodyninen7 Keep in mind that the engineer in this video is working near Tokyo. In the UK, living near London is also extremely expensive.
BretN7 London has tiny flats and could cost easily over a million near central London.
Note that in Japan, engineering jobs don't pay as much as in the US.
Yes, The work comes first, then family 2nd. Most works works long hours. It is rare (very rare) that anyone goes home at regular quitting time.
@@asap6512 That is very much true for older generation that were born after WWII until the 60s/70s.
But change is in place. I've worked with a few japanese business partners (younger, born in 80s or later) and they do not actually subscribed or even practice the same work culture as their senior (or father).
i am sooooo obsessed with these videos. i love seeing the daily life of a japanese person living in japan i’m just so obsessed with their culture! it’s so cool seeing how they differentiate to like, american culture! so freaking amazing!
Next video: " A Day in the Life of the person producing A Day in the Life" 😂😂✌✌✌✌
when u play first person game using third person view
Inception! I hope this actually becomes a video. xD
Actually he has made a video talking all about himself
@@enteiraikou5845 me too
I love these videos! As someone who's interested in Japan and journalism, could you do one of either a TV News Anchor or a paper-based journalist?
Check BEJ they have an amazing video about a journalist from South Africa
Wow that is an awesome project! I love your camera!
This family is amazing, both working and both making time for their family. Having family time at meals and using any opportunity to play with their son. Absolutely beautiful, such a progressive parenting style, this little boy is going to grow up with such fond family memories. I hope more families are able to find this type of balance!
"So do you have bread?"
Everyone: *Let's get this bread*
Love this series! Great to see its return. Hope the next one is about Shinkansens
Well fancy seeing you here, We met again Mr. Avery
this is one of my favorite shows in all platforms, please make more. i'm interested in the day in the life of a sake brewer or honkaku shochu distiller. keep the good work pare!
1:21 And the word "Kakaa Tenka" means wife madly rules the household.
Nice video as always!!! Thankyou!✨
I came across this channel just by accident and got curious so I'm now watching it. Coincidentally, I'm an Aerospace engineering student that just finished a small paper on methods to remove orbital debris! Which is exactly what his company does. Well that's my random fact of the day, thanks for sharing these people's stories! 😁
You should intern/work for them if you want to in the future!
You can't really remove them. It is way too impractical.
meanwhile in japan:
engineer: riding a train going to work
butcher: owns a car and lives in a decent house
I wouldn't mind riding a metro if it's good (on time, clean, doesn't smell) and cheap
he is probably investing his money
The butcher owns the shop(business owner) vs company employee.
@@cjgent4394 Also didnt the Butcher live in the Suburbs and not in Tokyo?
@@Fc2300 Paolo said 15 minute drive. Unless Tokyo has no traffic in the morning, the butcher lives in the city and drives in the city.
Can you do “A day in a life of a Japanese NEET.”? So I can finally relate to these videos.
eat, play, sleep
What is NEET?
@@commenterperson4481 Not in Education, Employment or Training
@@Cool-ge2db thanks!
Might as well ask him to do one for a Hikkikomri
Can you do a “Day in a Life of a Japanese School Teacher”?
It might be hard because usually parents are pretty picky about their kids being filmed. There would have to be a lot of post-production work to blur out the children’s faces.
@@amandavanderzee9716 well thats true
the family all playing DQ11 together is the cutest thing ever
I've always wondered about Paolo's day in the life episodes. If he meets the person at the destination, who shoots the morning routine?
Probably his wife Maiko
You can tell that it isn’t his wife at 1:00, because they are both briefly in frame while the camera is moving. I’d guess that it’s Paolo, and then he pretends to meet them at the train station
@@jmkinney2019 Maiko is Paolo's wife. Not the wife of the engineer
So I'm like 90% sure this is shot over two days- one day for home life and one day to "meet" the person at their work train station
Kei is so energetic! He's definitely a smart child. 🤗
So funny that I just remember watching this video and now I'm working in space engineering... mad. Great videos!
Hi Paolo!!!!
I really like your videos, mostly these "Day in a life of..." They are refreshing, well-edited, and awesome to see more about Japanese culture.
Thanks, Paolo for your hard work.
Hugs from Colombia!!
Keep up your work man I love these kinds of videos
More to come!
The kid is so cute. This is such a great presentation. I am coming back o Paolo's channel after a few months, my mother passed away because of Covid in June. I am happy to see everyone seem to wear masks in Tokyo.
I work the grave yard shift on weekends at the hospital. Im going to binge your channel to get me through the shift. Thank you for your insightful videos.

It's a Long March to space I guess

Paolo, great and interesting vid! I'm sure you aren't sneaking around the offices you go to, so perhaps in a Q & A you could talk about how you find your subjects and how you negotiate access. Best to you, Maiko, and Wolfy! The machine with a spindle looked like either a lathe or perhaps a winding machine to make electromagnetic coils, probably for actuators in the grasping process.
