Emergency Bathroom Mic you throw in the bathroom drawer for when you can’t miss that Elite Rare DX pile up… no puns intended 😂
Hahah great idea!
I use this with my Uniden 980, great for talking to the local group on our home channel. I can take the mic all around the yard and about half way down the block. No back yard BBQ would be complete without it.
I can see the convenience!
I use it on 7300 and have for a few years. Budget issues aside as they are different for everyone. It works just like Josh shows here it also does go 100M from the shack. It’s great to have going to here skip come in and for locals who call out. Here in Nevada people use radio a lot because phones are not reliable here.
Fun piece of kit, not required but helpful in narrow use applications
Love it. Waiting for the wireless headset to come out. He was testing it last year. Maybe you can get an update for it.
I would love a Heil Wireless headset.
@HRCC now we're talking. I have the pro 7 and love it. If they made it wireless that would be incredible.
Been using this mic with a 980ssb in the rv for 5 years with no problems, love it. 7300/9700 base station in rv uses Heil Pro Micro headset and foot switch and won't change until Heil offers a wireless micro. Whadya say, Bob?
Wow glad to hear a long running usecase.
I have one. I opened up the microphone hole to improve audio response.Picked up replacement batteries I keep charged up,easy to swap out.I mostly use it listening for 6 meter band openings. Also found out the greater the distance away from receiver there is a delay when keying up. I key up and give a 2 count before talking.

Good tips!
Hmm that would be great camping with a 7100 and yes ordered the 7300 adapter.
Yeah. Using this in a camp would be great.
Think i can use it on an yaesu 891 if i put the right connector on it? This could be fun for rag chews. Always wanted to have HF while I was grilling outside
I use the e QYT wireless with the 705 with much success. No dongle needed.
Pretty cool seeing more Bluetooth technology creep its way into radio rsms
I don’t think it’s Bluetooth actually. Range is better than Bluetooth.
@@HamRadioCrashCourse they've done some pretty cool things with Bluetooth lately. If it is class 1 or low energy Bluetooth they can both hit 100 m or 330ft. Motorola has something similar but it is quite costly only works with their stuff.
@@CluelessRanchHand It's not bluetooth.
Black Box Radios has some BT mikes that will be a bit more robust. They have been designed for commercial radios.
I don't think this mic is bluetooth, its like a mic pack.
Great video! I love the on the spot clip fix! Interesting idea, very novelty! De K1MAZ
Gotta keep it real :D
Also, how does the radio audio out get transmitted to the mic speaker?
The thing that plugs into the radio is a wireless transmitter and receiver.
Nice LTT screwdriver 😎
It’s cool!
Mine is still backordered...
Maybe a good open hardware project would be to make a better version of that that allows a few control buttons.
IDK that is possible with this, but maybe?
What is that wedge you are sitting on on your roof? I think you mentioned it in another video but can't find it.
It's a Pitch Hopper www.thepitchhopper.com/
@@HamRadioCrashCourse thanks
HOW WAS THE AUDIO QUALITY WHEN TRANSMITING ?
It fantastic, but I easily checked into the net. Couple of comments advocated opening the mic hole up.
Can I use it with any cb radio?
Assuming the pin out is the same, yes.
What is the net frequency?
Looks like last week it was 7.225, but can change due to traffic and usage
It coordinated on Discord.
40 meters, Fridays at 9:30est, 2:30 UTC. Are frequency agile and coordinate in the discord server. Usually we land between 7.220-2.40
What about 2m 440 radio use?
That is the fun of ham radio, you can modify things to suit your needs! Make and adapter!
I also found out from tje maker of the cable that isn't possible to use with Yaesu radios. Too bad
3:50
try it on the 705
Definitely the wrong connector.
@@HamRadioCrashCourse Wait, am I missing something? The IC705 and others have internal Bluetooth and supposedly can connect wireless speaker-mikes without a wired mic dongle. Does this work? Thanks for the review and 73's, N2GX
@@nevellgreenough404 Nope, the Uniden isn't Bluetooth. It needs the cradle to sync and the cradle is powered over the mic connector.
Micro USB?
Thanks,
j
Nope. Mini.
90 bucks for something unnecessary.
For many people, yes.
How?? What if my base station is upstairs and I want to monitor the local channel while chilling on my couch? Who are you to say it's not needed
