cbradiomagazine... - Just some fun testing with the new wireless microphone. Audio reports on the air say it sounds similar to the stock Uniden microphone that comes with the radio. So you won't get big audio out of it but if you can deal with sounding stock on the air it's a lot of fun.

I've been tying to figure out why the wireless mic blows my fuses in my CB? My CB is a new bearcat 980. The hardwired mic is fine but the wireless blows fuses easily. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The CB uses 2amp fuses.

So, where's the Audio Gain pot inside the mic? Let's tweak it and see!

nah that would distort like a mofo. better to amplify the audio between the dock and the radio because the output of the dock is likely limited.

These have very low modulation too low for SSB. The range is outstanding though I am getting about 220 ft. Any way to increase the modulation power anyone?

Too bad that the guy on the other end was so hard to understand. I've been in CB most of my life since 1965 and horrible sound quality is one of the biggest drawbacks. I've seen many videos on RUclips recorded inside of cars and trucks driving down roads, dirt roads, & freeways WITH GOOD AUDIO QUALITY & WITHOUT BAD BACKGROUND NOISE. So why cant CBs use this same GOOD audio quality that VIDEO RECORDERS USE? I have seen a few people adapt good modern mics to use on CB that sounded great, so why keep using antiquated, horrid sounding, mic technology from many decades ago? I know that some people like to make their radio sound like garbage, but many people want much better audio quality so they can be proud of the way they sound.
Back to your topic, We need more CB hands free headsets and wireless/Bluetooth headsets for MOBILE use available on the market. And not to be confused with headsets for handheld units, there's lots of those.
Could you please do a review on some MOBILE (not handheld) CB headsets if you haven't already done so? I saw 2 different brands on the internet several years ago.
On a side note. I was recently given another old radio and the mic was encrusted with food, lugie, spital, chewing tabaco, snot/mucus, curly hairs, and who knows what else. Audio probably couldn't even get to the element inside. This seem to be the filthy image that many people have of CBers, probably from holding their mic sooo close to their mouth as well as horribly muffled audio. You never know what diseases might be on those mics or those mouths. I never hold it that close and I get great audio reports with a tuned radio and power mic. Also, I disinfected that old mic, disassembled it, scrubbed it with a stiff brush in hot soapy water, deoxed it, reassembled it, and now it sounds the same as every other crappy stock CB mic, but at least it's clean. Anybody want to buy it? Maybe it would have sold better before I cleaned it. I did the same to the radio case that was also filthy.
I'm glad to see that Bluetooth mics are finally available.
